I'm currently mixing it with a lighter foundation to make it work.

Severe orange-toned darkening. For me, it's just a foundation that darkens significantly. There's a strong alcohol scent initially, but it dissipates once applied to the face.

Matte foundation. I was using Estee Lauder but decided to try something new. Unfortunately, I chose the wrong shade. It's too dark.
