I've tried Olaplex No. 3 through 6, and this one seems to have given me the best results! My hair was like straw from all the bleaching and coloring, but this product really tames it. Despite the wickedly high price and the hassle of ordering from overseas, I keep using it consistently. The price is insane for the amount you get... Plus the inconvenience of international shipping... The cap is so stiff! I've broken a few nails trying to open it since mine are quite thin. If only it came with a pump, that would have been so much better... I found that the longer I left it on, the better the results. I usually leave it in for at least 30 minutes to an hour. - ze**********Oily SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 19, 2022
I was also surprised by the dramatic effects, and it's similar to that. The Japanese brand was much more inconvenient with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd steps, but in comparison, Olaplex is much simpler. But honestly, I don't have time to use it every day... I try to use it on the weekends for sure. If you're diligent, using it about 3 times a week, even people with really damaged hair could see improvements quickly. The amount is only 100ml, which is a bit small, but since it's not a daily product, using it about twice a week, it shouldn't run out too fast. The only downside is the packaging is a bit inconvenient. The virgin seal was really hard to peel off at first, and it's a bit disappointing that it's not a pump bottle (it's a bit stiff to squeeze out). But the product's effects are so good that if you want to invest in shiny, smooth hair, I highly recommend purchasing it. - al*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinDec 6, 2020
My hair feels a bit softer. The hair mask does have some effect. My scalp doesn't feel itchy after using it. Personally, I'm quite disappointed. Compared to the reviews, I didn't see any significant results - it's just average. The amount is really small, and the container is inconvenient to use. I won't be repurchasing. They say it's good to leave it on for a while, so on hair mask days, it's recommended to keep it on for up to 45 minutes. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 30, 2020
Even a small amount spreads incredibly well. It's excellent for damaged hair, though the application process is a bit unique - you use this, then shampoo, then conditioner. You need to wait for quite a while to see results. For best effects, it's recommended to use the shampoo and conditioner from the same line. While I don't have any personal tips, I highly recommend this for those with severely damaged hair. The results are almost comparable to a salon treatment. - he***Combination SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedApr 17, 2020
This is my holy grail product! Despite frequent bleaching, coloring, toning, and purple shampoo use, it's kept my hair strong and healthy. It's the best hair product I've found. Even though it's a bit pricey, I think it's totally worth it. Personally, I find using Olaplex No. 3 regularly at home more effective than getting treatments at the salon. I love having short hair and choose to cut it for style, but I've never had to cut it due to split ends or damage. Salons abroad (in Australia) always recommend Olaplex for bleached hair, saying there's nothing better. If I had to nitpick, the only downside is that you need to leave it on for a long time to maximize its effects. It's a bit of a hassle since you have to apply it to slightly damp hair, leave it on, then rinse and shampoo. I usually apply oil to my hair, so I always shampoo, towel dry, apply Olaplex, then shampoo and condition again, which means washing twice. The instructions say you don't need to shampoo before using the product unless your hair is very dirty. I've heard most people just dampen their hair with water before applying it. Many people think leaving it on longer is better and apply it before bed, washing it out in the morning. This trend started when a celebrity said they do it that way. However, I've read an article by an international expert stating that the product stops working after 45 minutes. If you're curious, you can look it up on Google. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 20, 2020
My hair has been through a lot of bleaching and coloring, but using this product definitely makes a noticeable improvement in my hair texture! The downside is that it's quite pricey for the amount you get, but considering the results, it's still worth using. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedFeb 15, 2020
I used to get color treatments and hair masks at the salon, but I decided to buy this product when they started using it for treatments. Even with my damaged hair, the effects last about 3 days and it works better than regular hair masks! The price is quite high for the amount you get, and you have to purchase it through overseas shipping. Also, after 3 days, your hair starts to feel dry and brittle, so you need to use it at least every 3 days. The longer you leave it on, the better the results! When I was busy and only left it on for about 20 minutes, I noticed a slight improvement. But when I left it on for an hour during the weekend, the elasticity of my hair felt completely different. I also use the shampoo and conditioner from the same line, and using them together gives even better results! - go******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedNov 25, 2019
I tried this after getting a perm, and while it doesn't provide dramatic instant results, it seems to be a product that shines with consistent use. My hair tends to be quite oily, but this product doesn't cause any irritation, hives, or greasiness on my scalp. Instead, it feels like it's replenishing protein from within each strand. After using it, I feel like my hair has more elasticity and a bit more weight to it. The scent is mild, like a subtle ointment, so I apply it feeling like I'm giving my hair a prescription treatment! The disappointing aspects are that using No. 3 alone isn't as effective as using it after No. 1 and No. 2, and that the amount you get for the price is quite small. I put on a shower cap and place a hot towel over it for better absorption. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 13, 2019
My scalp tends to get dry after shampooing, but oily the next day - a real combination type with no in-between. Plus, my hair has been through the wringer with 3 bleaching and 4 coloring sessions, so it's pretty damaged. I've tried various products (especially treatments) without feeling like any were truly exceptional. However, Olaplex No. 3 was different. I could feel my hair becoming softer right from the moment I started drying it. The next day, it didn't get weighed down or greasy either. The downside is the eye-watering price for such a small amount. They recommend using it 3-4 times a week, but for extremely damaged hair like mine, I need to use it almost every time I shampoo. This makes me hesitant to buy it unless it's on sale. That being said, the results are absolutely fantastic! I found that removing as much moisture from my hair as possible after shampooing before applying the product led to even better results.
