When the seasons change, I often notice my face getting itchy, and sure enough, the next morning I wake up with a blemish on my chin and cheek. I'm guessing quite a few of you reading this review might be in the same boat! That's when a friend gifted me this product. As someone who regularly uses the Hwahae app, I initially had reservations about the 'Papala Manuka Gel' after looking up its ingredients list. However, my friend, who's quite knowledgeable about skincare due to her long battle with blemishes, explained that even plant extracts are listed using chemical names, which often leads to misunderstandings. Trusting her word that it's 100% organic plant-based ingredients, I decided to give it a try. After applying it to the blemish on my chin and sleeping on it, I woke up to find the angry, red spot had calmed down a bit. Now, after about two weeks of use, I apply it as soon as I feel a blemish coming on, and it works wonders in reducing them. The consistency is quite thin, making it easy to apply even when you're feeling lazy about your skincare routine. It absorbs quickly too. I've been using it as a spot treatment, but I think it would work well spread thinly over larger areas like the cheeks without feeling heavy. It's not really a downside, but more of a tip: you can use this as a spot treatment or apply it only to blemish-prone areas. However, it's important to note that you should still follow your regular skincare routine. I think many people might not realize this, so it's best to use this after your toner. Despite being called a 'gel', don't expect it to be sticky. When applied, it has a thinner consistency than most essences, which allows for excellent absorption without feeling heavy on the skin.
