Color payoff: When applied with fingers, this might be the most beautiful highlighter! It gives a glossy, vaseline-like glow that looks gorgeous on the cheekbones. The subtle white pearl creates a lovely highlighting effect. Some might find it too white. Recommended for those who appreciate white pearl highlighters. This highlighter offers a stunning glow with its white pearl finish. It's particularly effective when applied with fingers, creating a dewy, luminous effect that's reminiscent of a vaseline sheen. The product works especially well on the cheekbones, enhancing your complexion with a radiant glow. However, it's worth noting that the white tone might be too stark for some preferences. If you're a fan of white pearl highlighters, you'll likely love this product's ability to create that coveted Inner Glow. - fl*************Combination SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 14, 2025
A luminous and generously-sized Vaseline-glow highlighter with an ethereal sheen... I snagged this from Able Shop during a sale, and I'm even more pleased than expected. I'll address some of the criticisms I've seen in reviews and share what I consider to be its strengths. 1. Opulence truly seems to be the original Vaseline glow! Lately, there's been a flood of highlighters marketed with trendy terms like "dewdrop glow" or "water-light radiance". But after trying countless highlighters, I feel Stila really nails that coveted Vaseline-like luminosity. It's absolutely stunning. The wet jelly texture contains fine white pearl particles that reflect light without any base color. Though I've described them as "white" pearls, it's more that the light reflection itself appears bright, rather than looking artificial. The effect is like sunlight dancing on rippling water. 2. No base color means no heaviness. Light reflection comes purely from the pearls. In my opinion, Stila has really nailed the balance here. To achieve that glistening glow without feeling heavy, they've eliminated the base color entirely and incorporated various sizes of pearls (small to medium) that scatter light like natural sunshine. Some reviewers who bought Opulence expecting subtlety were surprised by the slightly larger pearls - that's likely the reason. To give you an idea of the pearl sizes, they're comparable to the metallic pearls in the upper right/left of Dior's Rose Gold, as well as the shimmer pearls in the lower left. Personally, I don't find this bothersome for a highlighter, but in Korea, there's a preference for extremely fine pearl textures. For the prettiest effect with Opulence, I recommend using a brush to apply a thin layer, then building up if needed. The jelly texture adheres well when applied with fingers, but it can be trickier to control the amount. If you do use your fingers, pick up just a tiny bit and pat it on gradually for the best results. The pearl reflection itself isn't overwhelming at all. It has a silvery sparkle that would work beautifully on the cheeks or as a base highlighter. 3. Generous amount, magnetic case, and great mirror are definite pluses. First off, the highlighter itself is huge! About the size of a full-sized Ofra, not the mini. The domed center adds to both the amount of product and visual appeal. And I was pleasantly surprised by how clear and sharp the mirror is - much better than typical cushion compacts. I'll likely use this for touch-ups when I'm out. The magnetic case gives it a luxe feel. Overall, I'd say this is a well-crafted Vaseline-glow highlighter. I'd been hesitating to buy it, but I'm so glad I picked it up during this sale! It seems perfect for those with fair to light complexions. Personally, I don't have many complaints, but do keep in mind that because it's a wet formula, you'll need to be mindful of the expiration date! For the most beautiful Vaseline-like glow, pick up product with a brush and apply in thin layers! - 93*****Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 13, 2025
The moisturizing formula allows for a natural and clear glow without clogging pores, despite the larger pearl particles. While there are many similar highlighters out there, the hydrating texture of this one ensures both the base color and glitter blend seamlessly. This unique effect is only achievable with Stila's Opulence. Center - Stila Silver Lake Right - Stila Opulence I've used Innisfree's Filter Edition 3-color highlighter well, and was looking for a similar product. Stila's 3 highlighters have comparable color combinations and feel. However, Stila's seems much prettier. It contains more sparkle and shimmers more brilliantly. I wish I had bought the Stila product from the start - I could have saved money searching for similar highlighters. Apply it gently with a fan brush using small circular motions. - ju*****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 7, 2025
While it looks like a white or silver shade, when lightly applied over your base makeup, it gives a subtle glow that's really lovely. I love how the luminosity changes depending on the light. I prefer applying it with my fingers, but since it's not a powder formula, it tends to clump a bit, which is a bit disappointing. It's great for creating a luminous complexion when applied subtly to the tip of the nose, bridge of the nose, inner corners of the eyes, and above the cheekbones. - gu*********Oily SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJan 5, 2025
A dewy, glass-skin effect highlighter Stunning with a pronounced pearlescent sheen Might be too glamorous for everyday standalone use - ti****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 13, 2024
1. Radiance explosion, achieving goddess-like glowing skin! The moment you apply it, a subtle luminosity spreads across your skin, creating a natural, dewy glow. It's not excessive, making it perfect for daily makeup and special occasions alike! 2. Soft and moisturizing texture It has a unique formula that feels like a cream but finishes like a powder. It applies smoothly without clumping, making it easy for beginners to use! 3. Unbeatable longevity! Long-lasting shine I applied it in the morning, and the sparkle was still there in the evening. I hardly needed any touch-ups! 4. Wide range of color choices I love that there are various colors to choose from depending on your complexion or desired look. I used the Kitten shade, which is perfect for warm skin tones! 1. Portability could be improved The packaging is pretty, but it's a bit large! Still, I like it because it's attractive. 2. Might look slightly greasy on oily skin If you have oily skin, it might make your face look a bit shiny, so use it sparingly. It looks even prettier when used with a matte base! 1. Recommend using fingers instead of a brush Gently patting it on with your fingers brings out a much more natural and subtle glow! 2. Use as a highlight on under-eyes and nose tip Not just for cheekbones, but lightly applying it to the inner corners of your eyes, nose tip, and cupid's bow can make your whole face look more dimensional. 3. Mix with cream blush Mixing it with a cream blush and applying to the cheeks creates a lively, subtly luminous cheek. Highly recommended for daily use! - ps*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsRednessRecommendedOct 7, 2024
The glow is absolutely stunning. It's natural and gives a glossy sheen, like you've applied a thin layer of Vaseline. The fine particles make your skin look naturally flawless. It seems perfect for those with cool undertones to use effortlessly. Those who prefer more noticeable highlighters might find this a bit subtle. However, I'm personally very satisfied with it. - ki**********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedSep 4, 2024
I absolutely love it! The shimmering pearls are dazzling, and the formula doesn't have any excess powder, which is fantastic. It looks especially beautiful when applied to the inner corners of the eyes or the bridge of the nose. The staying power doesn't seem to be particularly long-lasting. That's a bit disappointing. - in********Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsAug 15, 2024
Honestly, there's not much to praise. If anything, I appreciate that the color is a pale white without any strong undertones. Also, the texture feels nice to touch... haha. To be frank, I'm not sure it's worth the price. I really don't reach for this product at all. I'm more inclined to use much cheaper drugstore highlighters than this one. The texture feels fine when you touch it and apply it - it's decent enough. But that's just the 'feeling' of the texture. When you actually put it on, it's disappointing... For something that seems like it should have high density, it has a scattered density similar to glitter eyeshadow. It's very difficult to use as a highlighter. Shimmers need a certain level of density to create dimension, but this doesn't have that. I'm not sure if it doesn't suit my skin type or if I just don't know how to use it properly. Anyway, I absolutely can't use it on my face, but it might work okay for eye makeup. - ki******Normal SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJul 18, 2024
This highlighter has become one of my favorites lately, along with Peach Moon. It gives a dewy look with a clear, luminous glow that's absolutely gorgeous. Even without any base makeup, it creates a sparkling, twinkling radiance. In the swatch photo, Opulence is on the right. The shimmer particles are quite large, so those who dislike chunky glitter might want to avoid this. The pearls are definitely on the bigger side. Also, the amount of product is excessive. Since it's a cream formula that won't last forever, it's way too much for someone like me who rarely wears makeup and has never hit pan on a single product in my life.
