It's a standard cleansing oil with minimal irritation, which is great. I bought it specifically to remove blackheads, but it seems the formula may have changed as it's not as effective at removing sebum as it used to be. The emulsification process is a key feature of this product. It dilutes exceptionally well with water, turning into a sticky consistency. That's when you should work on dissolving the sebum. This cleansing oil doesn't make the sebum visibly roll off like some products do. After you finish massaging, if you look at your nose, you'll notice the sebum has become very light, almost white. It lightens the sebum, giving your nose a smooth appearance. However, some sebum does remain. When I purchased this 5-6 years ago, it was revolutionary in removing sebum, which is why I repurchased. But now it just seems to dissolve rather than remove, which is disappointing. I probably won't buy it again. Pump twice and massage, then pump once more and mix with water before massaging again. There's some residue left, so a second cleanse is absolutely necessary.
