It applies incredibly smoothly, and despite the gold, the color is a cool-toned red. The soft velvet texture doesn't settle into fine lines, and even a thin layer makes lips look smooth. While it's said to have gold mixed in, it feels less shimmery than the Lip Magnet Milano Red from the same holiday edition, making it great for daily wear. (The Lip Magnet Milano Red is a bit too foil-like for me...) It's an intriguing color - a slightly blue-toned red with a golden sheen. I think it would look beautiful on fair-skinned cool-toned individuals. Unfortunately, it comes off way too easily. The staying power is really disappointing. It feels like a soft velvet layer on the lips, but it quickly disappears when drinking from a cup. Also, it transfers to teeth very easily... While other lip tints don't do this, the Lip Maestro always seems to end up on my teeth, even with a thin application. I'm constantly worried about checking my teeth after applying it. Besides the pretty color, there's not much else to praise about it, sadly.
