The extreme thickness is a downside. Absolutely do not apply this and go straight to bed - you'll end up having to wash all your sheets and pillowcases the next day. Think of it as a wash-off mask that needs plenty of time. It seems quite acidic, as it creates a warm, tingly sensation when applied. The feeling fades quickly and hasn't caused me any problems, but if you have super sensitive skin, I'd recommend doing a patch test on the back of your hand first.

The instructions simply say to apply it, but this stuff is incredibly thick and sticky, so you need to wash it off. It's more of a wash-off mask, really. I use it after work, once I've removed my makeup. I apply a generous layer and leave it on for about 2 hours. At home, I'll cleanse before bed and then apply my regular cream. After using it for a few days, I've noticed my complexion has definitely brightened. Oh, and when I accidentally got some on my lips while washing it off, it tasted like a vitamin pill, haha!
