Both the application and absorption are excellent. While some reviewers didn't care for it, I found the fragrance to be very pleasant. The dropper packaging actually makes it difficult to control the amount dispensed. Also, it's challenging to purchase in Korea. - 36*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAug 15, 2016
I bought this at duty-free after reading reviews, worried about my extremely dry skin during my Middle East trip. I used it there and could really feel the difference between days I used it and days I didn't. It's an item that proved itself in the Middle Eastern summer heat, so I'm giving it a hearty pat on the back with this review. It maintains hydration and feels like it controls heat-induced aging. The price is a bit high (I bought it duty-free, but I'm referring to the regular retail price). Also, the dropper packaging leads to a lot of waste. - qh**Oily SkinAcne SkinJul 15, 2016
This is really great for oily skin! I've tried other Philosophy products, but this serum and the yellow cleanser are truly must-have items. I can't remember the name of the yellow cleanser, but it's the one women use to remove makeup. I started using Philosophy after trying my sister's, and it got me hooked. At the store, they let you test products like peeling balm, ampoule pads for night use, Time in a Bottle cream, and others. But the real gems are the Hope Serum (this product) and the yellow cleanser. The rest are a bit pricey for their performance. By the way, this serum costs 69,000 won. As a side note, it might be a bit much to use as a men's product... It's expensive and not great value for money at just 30ml. However, when you have skin issues, nothing beats this. The scent might be a bit off-putting, but compared to other Philosophy products, it's actually quite tolerable. You can apply this product after toner, followed by cream, without it feeling excessively greasy. Ladies with dry skin might find it a bit drying, though. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinMay 11, 2016
Even though I have oily skin, it provides hydration without making me look greasy. I feel like it's gradually improving my skin. I rarely repurchase skincare products, but this is one I stock up on whenever I get the chance at duty-free shops. The dropper-type bottle and slightly sticky texture mean there's a fair amount of product left that's hard to get out when it's almost empty. When I'm feeling lazy, just using toner, Philosophy, and emulsion gives great hydration (works for combination skin). - Hwahae UserDry SkinJul 13, 2015
Perfect for summer use as it's not too heavy and absorbs quickly. The non-sticky formula makes it suitable even for those with slightly dry or oily skin. It seems to fulfill its role as a serum effectively, making it a great choice for year-round use. You'll likely be applying moisturizer and emulsion on top anyway. If you're particular about scents, you might not appreciate the fragrance of this product.
