CLARINS Instant Lip Oil [08 Blackberry]

This lip oil has better staying power than any lip balm or lip oil. I've tried almost all the famous lip balms, from drugstore products like Yuri Anju and Carmex to department store brands like Fresh, Sisley, and Bobbi Brown, but I've never found a lip moisturizer that keeps my lips feeling hydrated for as long as this one. While most moisturizing lip balms feel like they're just coating the surface of the lips with wax, this product absorbs into the lips and replenishes the dryness from within. Just one application keeps my lips feeling soft and supple for almost half a day. As someone who's constantly peeling off the flaky skin on my lips, this product has been a godsend. I've tried the honey, raspberry, and red berry flavors, and I've even gone through more than five tubes of the red berry. The only downside was that I wished the color selection was better, but then the blackberry flavor was released. It may look intimidating, but when applied, it leaves a sheer burgundy or blood-red tint. The red hue flatters my warm-toned complexion better than the red berry and makes my face look more radiant. Now that the color issue has been resolved, this has become a must-have product that I'll repurchase if it's ever discontinued. The scent lingers like grape jam.

The color doesn't stay true to the initial application. It doesn't completely fade to a pale wash, but instead leaves a faint, elongated stain. The glossy, glass-like shine is only present upon initial application. If you're looking for that glossy look, you're better off getting a MAC Lipglass.

The product may seem like it has a small amount, but the long-lasting formula means it lasts longer than you'd expect. It's great to apply before bed as well.
