Others say it's great to apply before makeup as it completely covers pores and makes skin smooth. I felt that a bit too, but there's an even better hidden feature. It's amazing on heel dead skin cells - makes them incredibly smooth, similar to a foot cream but more effective with less product. I have combination dehydrated skin with redness and super sensitive skin. I'm especially vulnerable to oils, heavy oil textures, strong vitamins, and alcohol ingredients. Pores are a concern, but as I age, oil production decreases and things seem to improve naturally. My skin develops blemishes from sunscreen, so I look for non-allergenic options. So far, the recently released Hera blue tube sunscreen seems to work best for me! I'm the type whose lips react badly to Chanel and YSL lip products. Even Nuxe's natural honey lip balm causes a reaction. Bepanthen lip balm works best for me - it's my absolute must-have! For hair, I prefer a squeaky clean finish rather than moisturizing effects post-wash. I tend to favor hair essences over rinse-out conditioners. Well, as expected, the high price is a bit disappointing... - ov*******Dry SkinRecommendedFeb 24, 2025
It truly excels as a primer. I use it to cover pores in my T-zone and cheek areas, and it does an excellent job of minimizing pores while helping foundation absorb well. The fact that it's silicone-free is an added bonus. The only downside is the price, but I couldn't find any other faults. This is my second purchase. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 2, 2023
My skin type: Quite porous (not large pores, but many small ones), very oily T-zone and butterfly zone Excellent at covering fine lines and pores I use just a tiny amount on the pores in my butterfly zone and to smooth out the uneven texture and bumps in my T-zone! Even with such a small amount, it covers fine lines and pores remarkably well, leaving my skin looking smooth... I've tried many famous products, but this one is truly the best Controls oil well / Improves makeup longevity With the hot weather lately, makeup tends to break down easily, but when I apply this, it controls oil so well that my makeup lasts all day without much breakdown, even without a setting spray! While results may vary depending on other base products used, it paired well with all semi-matte/matte cushions that have good fixing power It's expensive... The biggest drawback is that it's extremely pricey While the amount is so generous it might last for years, given that primers are typically used in small quantities, I wonder if such a large amount is necessary? The price makes me sigh... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 4, 2022
After testing it in person at the department store, I found it has minimal darkening and great staying power even after 6 hours. It feels less drying and works well even during seasonal changes. The price...? It's a bit expensive... The scent seems to be divisive - I find it unscented, but my friend dislikes it, saying it smells odd. - oh****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 30, 2022
Among all the primers I've tried, this one and Make Up For Ever are the best at covering pores. While it doesn't hide them 100%, when you apply foundation over this primer, even large pores appear much smaller - like average-sized pores. It also pairs excellently with foundation, preventing any pilling. Some primers can break down with your makeup, leaving white, rice-like residue on your pores, but this one doesn't do that at all. That's what I love most about it. The price is a bit wicked... But I guess you get what you pay for, haha! - su******Dry SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedFeb 7, 2022
The texture is moisturizing, so it absorbs well and seems to brighten my complexion by about one shade! The volume is small and it's a bit pricey, so I can't use it too often. It only brightens by about one shade, not a huge difference, and of course, it doesn't cover blemishes. I think it would work well if you buy three primers and apply them in order. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedJan 6, 2022
I've tried many highly-recommended primers, but Laura Mercier's primer is perfect for me. It effectively conceals pores and gives a radiant finish. I'm currently using a sample, and I plan to purchase the full-size product when I finish it. I've been using it for a week, but I haven't noticed any drawbacks yet. I'll update if any issues arise later. - go*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedOct 25, 2020
✨I had sensitive skin, forehead bumps, oily T-zone, and combination dehydrated U-zone, but I've overcome those issues now!✨ I tried a tester at Sephora before choosing this product. Here's my review: 💜Application💜 This is my second primer after trying Benefit's. Compared to Benefit, this feels more like an emulsion with higher moisture content. It doesn't get stuck between your fingerprints, making it easy to apply without feeling heavy. 💜Pore Coverage💜 As mentioned, the texture differs slightly from my previous primer. It seems to cover pores less intensively, which I actually prefer. I feel like my skin can breathe better this way, rather than having my pores completely blocked. 💜Adherence💜 It adheres well to the skin. Despite its emulsion-like texture, it doesn't separate from the skin at all. I'd say it performs about 90% of what you'd expect from a primer. 1. It's quite expensive... While the price is a bit burdensome, I bit the bullet and bought it since you don't use a lot of primer at once. 2. It contains some potentially allergenic ingredients. However, it's challenging to find a primer that's 100% satisfactory in terms of ingredients. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 11, 2020
I'm still using it, but I think it's good. The makeup applies smoothly and evenly. I plan to write more after using it longer, but it seems great for those with oily skin. - 3s******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 12, 2020
I stumbled upon this at Sephora and tested it on the back of my hand. Seeing my fine lines disappear, I was so impressed that I bought it on the spot! Using just a pea-sized amount on my T-zone prevents excess oil and makes my makeup last longer. The 50ml size is quite generous, so it should last a while! The lavender packaging is absolutely gorgeous. I have combination dehydrated skin with a dry cheek area and an oily T-zone, but since using this, my skin doesn't get as oily, which helps my foundation stay put longer :-) It seems like an especially great product for summer. The price is admittedly a bit high. However, since you only need to use a tiny amount each time, it should easily last over 6 months, making the higher price more manageable. Also, it's worth noting that this primer doesn't cover large pores effectively.
