I've been really into these nude lip shades with a light coral tint lately, so when Peripera released a new product, I immediately bought it! Since I have many similar lip colors, I decided to do a comparison. From top to bottom: 1. CLIO Mad Matte Lip in Lingerie Show 2. Peripera Ink Tattoo Stick in Coral Teaser 3. BBIA Moulin Rouge in Dreamy 4. Peripera Ink the Airy Velvet in Daily Routine 5. BBIA Moulin Rouge in Daydream 6. CLIO Mad Matte Lip in Sunlit Orange 7. Shu Uemura in Gangnam Orange Personally, I'm a bit disappointed with how it applies... Let's talk about the color first. I thought it would be a common pink, but when I swatched it on my hand, it's closer to an orange-red (surprise!). However, on the lips, it's more of a toned-down pink. In the swatch photo, it looks most similar to Gangnam Orange, but to me, it feels very similar to Peripera's Daily Routine, just with a drop more orange. The color itself is pretty! It definitely gets darker as it stains. After reapplying a few times while out, I came home to find the color had intensified significantly. You can even see it getting darker between swatches (look at #2)! The disappointing part is how it applies... Out of the 7 I compared, this one seems to have the worst application. When I tested it in-store, it glided smoothly on my hand, so I thought it would be super soft like CLIO's Mad Matte Lip. But on the lips, it applies really stiffly. It also emphasizes dead skin cells and clings to lip lines... In terms of application, the ranking would be: CLIO (top tier, incomparable) > Shu Uemura > BBIA > Peripera Airy Velvet > Peripera Ink Tattoo Stick Daily Routine was a bit stiff too, but it spread nicely with a lip brush. This one, however, is exceptionally hard to apply on the lips... On days when my lips aren't in great condition, I probably wouldn't even attempt to use it. This might vary from person to person, but it actually hurts my lips... Out of over 30 lip products I own, only two have caused this discomfort - Peripera Ink the Airy Velvet and this one. It's not unusable, but there must be some ingredient that doesn't agree with me. What a shame.
