The coverage and adherence were both fantastic! When applied with a spatula...it's amazing! It holds up well for about 6 hours, but after that, there's a slight darkening effect, unfortunately. This foundation seems to have excellent initial performance, with great coverage and staying power. However, it may require touch-ups or reapplication after 6 hours for those with longer wear times. The use of a spatula for application appears to enhance its effectiveness. - wc********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 18, 2025
After using cushion compacts for so long, I finally gave this a try. First off, the coverage is absolutely amazing, and it doesn't settle into the pores around my nose area - I love it so much! Beginners might find it a bit tricky to control the amount of product. Pro tip: Apply a thin layer with a spatula first, then pat it in with a puff. The way it adheres to the skin is incredible! - sk*********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJun 17, 2025
This is an absolute must-have in my routine. The adherence? It goes without saying. I applied it and wore a mask, and there was absolutely no transfer or smudging. It's a godsend for my combination skin - dry around the nose, but an oil slick elsewhere. The semi-matte finish is incredible. No darkening whatsoever, and I barely needed any touch-ups. While it doesn't cover everything completely, the coverage is still impressive - I'd say medium to high, though not quite full coverage. But honestly, it's so amazing that I wish I could sleep with my makeup on! As I mentioned earlier, everything else about this product is top-notch. It's nearly perfect, but compared to its other qualities, the coverage might be its weakest point. That being said, it's not bad coverage by any means - it just doesn't quite match up to the exceptional adherence and longevity. The reviewer seems to have combination dehydrated skin with oiliness and deep dryness. They are extremely satisfied with the product's adherence, longevity, and semi-matte finish. The product performs well even under a mask, doesn't cause darkening, and requires minimal touch-ups. While the coverage is good, it's not full coverage, which the reviewer considers the only slight drawback in an otherwise excellent product. - go*********Dry SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 17, 2025
I've been wanting to try this for ages, and finally had the chance when I got some extra cash! I picked up the special set at Olive Young, which came with the foundation and a mini cushion. The mini cushion was meant to be filled with the foundation, and the instructions said to pump it 25 times. I did that, but it felt a tad short, so I added a few more pumps, and it was perfect! What I'm looking for in a foundation is good coverage, beautiful wear-down, minimal settling into fine lines, and a finish that's not too matte. It's a tall order, and I've always struggled to find the right one, but this foundation really hit the mark for my skin! Since I have dry skin, I went for the semi-matte option instead of full matte, and it was just right! The coverage is great, and when I applied it, the color didn't look off or too dark. It actually gave me a slight brightening effect, which I loved even more. I wore it for about 6 hours after applying in the morning (mostly indoors, admittedly), and there was no pilling around my nose or any patchiness. The staying power was absolutely incredible! So far, I can't think of any downsides! In my opinion, I feel like I've found the perfect foundation for me. This foundation seems to work hard to meet all the criteria for an ideal complexion enhancer. It provides good coverage while maintaining a natural finish, evens out the skin tone without looking cakey, and has impressive longevity. The fact that it doesn't settle into pores or cause irritation is a big plus, especially for those with sensitive skin. The slight brightening effect it provides contributes to that coveted "Inner Glow" look. For those with combination dehydrated skin, this semi-matte formula might be a great option to balance oil and moisture. Remember, when trying a new foundation, it's always a good idea to test it in different lighting and throughout a full day to ensure it truly meets your needs. - ga*******Dry SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 17, 2025
At first, I experienced some darkening, but when I applied a thin layer of purple sunscreen underneath, it worked wonders! It's not even a heavy coverage, but it manages to conceal my redness completely, even though I tend to have quite noticeable flushing. If you apply it too thickly, it can look a bit cakey or accentuate texture, but it's fine when applied in a thin layer! Use after applying purple sunscreen for best results. - hk******Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsDark CirclesInner DrynessRecommendedJun 17, 2025
The coverage is insane! It adheres so well to the skin, I absolutely love it. It doesn't wear off very gracefully. There's a bit of an unattractive breakdown throughout the day. Oddly enough, even with thorough cleansing, I noticed blemishes popping up by the next morning... For a long-lasting base that matches your complexion perfectly, try this: makeup fixer -> primer -> mix Giverny foundation with BB cream in equal parts! - mc********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedJun 16, 2025
The coverage and adherence are excellent. I finally understand why everyone raves about Giverny's foundation. During Olive Young sales, it's worth grabbing the special set. Even though it's pricey, you'll see why people buy it. The staying power is seriously impressive. Just a heads up - Giverny tends to run a bit light, so choose your shade carefully! Since Giverny runs slightly lighter, if I go one shade darker, it doesn't match my skin. But if I choose my exact match, it looks a bit too bright, which is a bit disappointing. It's on the pricier side, but it's a great buy during Olive Young sales. Make sure to use a spatula when applying! - kk*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 12, 2025
Giverny Long-Lasting Cover Foundation Review "Stays put all day without budging" Lately, I've been worried about my makeup breaking down or looking patchy, but then a friend recommended the Giverny Long-Lasting Cover Foundation. To be honest, I didn't have high expectations at first. But... wow, this really surprised me with how good it is. Seriously. 🧴 Texture & Application First off, the formula is super smooth and hydrating. When you squeeze it onto the back of your hand, it feels slightly runny yet still has a nice bounce to it. When you pat it in with a puff, it really adheres to your skin like a second skin. It applies evenly without any brush marks, and even a thin layer provides pretty strong coverage! It's especially good at covering blemishes and redness, so you might not even need concealer. Of course, for any really dark spots, you can always layer it for perfect coverage! ☁️ Adherence & Longevity Now I understand why they put "Long-Lasting" in the name. It really becomes one with your skin. It barely transfers onto masks and holds up well against sweat! While you might get a bit of shine in the afternoon, it actually looks more like a natural glow, so touch-ups are rarely needed. Even when I checked the mirror in the evening, I never once thought, "Oh no, has my makeup worn off?" ✨ Finish & Skin Appearance It has a semi-matte finish but doesn't feel dry at all. It keeps your skin hydrated underneath while looking smooth on top, giving your complexion a really polished look. It doesn't emphasize texture or pores, and your skin looks clear and even! I usually have combination skin, so it's been hard to find a product that's neither too oily nor too matte. This one strikes the perfect balance, making it ideal for everyday use. 🫶 Recommended for: Those looking for a foundation that doesn't budge and lasts all day People who prefer a high-coverage base that doesn't feel heavy Anyone wanting a product that gives a beautiful, flawless skin finish Those trying to minimize makeup transfer onto masks 💬 Quick summary! "Full coverage, lightweight adherence" From the moment you apply it until the evening, the Giverny Long-Lasting Cover Foundation stays on so naturally, it feels like your own skin. I'm really satisfied with how it performs. This product is optimized for oily to combination skin types with its semi-matte finish, so depending on your skin type, you might have some reservations. However, it worked well for me when I tried it! 1. Make sure to moisturize well Using a hydrating cream + hydrating primer as a base will help prevent the foundation from looking patchy. 2. Use a damp makeup sponge Slightly dampening your makeup sponge before application will help create an even thinner, more hydrated finish. 3. Go easy on the powder Since it's already a semi-matte product, just lightly setting your T-zone is enough for a flawless finish. - su*********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 11, 2025
As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I found this foundation perfect for daily use. It didn't leave my skin feeling dry and gave me a smooth complexion. The lightweight application allowed for a natural, clear skin look, and its excellent adherence prevented any patchiness. I usually prefer matte base products like Espoir's Be Velvet, but Giverny's Milchak Cover Foundation lived up to its semi-matte description. It felt quite moisturizing upon application, yet had a powder-like finish that even I, someone who doesn't favor a dewy look, could appreciate. The beautiful ivory shade is this product's biggest selling point in my opinion. I tend to have severe redness, so I'm always focused on concealing it. This yellow-based foundation naturally covers redness without excessive brightening (check the swatch on my hand for reference on redness coverage). The formula doesn't set too quickly, making it suitable for those who apply makeup slowly or beginners who need more time to blend. However, while the product description recommends it for "dry, normal, and combination" skin types, I personally think it might feel a bit heavy for those with dry skin. Due to its slightly oily nature, I found I needed to touch up throughout the day (in this regard, I was very satisfied with the cushion compact and blending puff included in the set. If it's still available, I'd recommend the set over just the foundation). There was also a bit of caking around the sides of my nose, but I experience this to some extent with other products too. Keep in mind that this may vary depending on individual skin type and pre-base skincare products used. Recommended for: • Those who find the glow of dewy products too much, but matte products too heavy • People who prefer a natural, clear skin look • Those looking for a lightweight foundation that adheres well without patchiness • Anyone seeking an ivory-toned product to balance redness in a sea of pink-based foundations - yg********Dry SkinDark CirclesRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedJun 9, 2025
As a lifelong cushion user, this was my first time trying a liquid foundation, and I'm impressed! The value set is great, and overall it's a good product. It's quite moisturizing, so I'd recommend it for dry skin types too. The staying power is also excellent. The shade leans a bit yellow, so I sometimes mix it with a pink-toned sunscreen or cushion using a spatula. If you don't mind a slightly warmer tone, you should be fine with it as is. I highly recommend getting the value set when you purchase this.
