Innisfree Glow Tint Lip Balm Review Color: Despite being named 'Rose', it's not your classic red. It's more of a blood-red hue with a slight hint of burgundy. Think less bright red, more deep, rich blood-like red. Moisture: True to its lip balm nature, it's wonderfully hydrating with a decent color payoff. It's perfect for rescuing dry, sickly-looking lips when used alone. Layered over a tint, it helps maintain moisture in winter. I'll be honest, this product used to sit unused in my collection (I was a matte lip devotee). But recently, I've been drawn to more hydrating lip products, so I rediscovered this gem. The glow is incredible! I used to apply it straight from the stick, but after it broke once, I melted it with a hairdryer and put it in an empty container. I found that instead of swiping it on thickly, applying thin layers like a tint gives an absolutely stunning glow. Transfer and Wear: Being a moisturizing lip balm, transfer is inevitable, which can be inconvenient. If worn alone, it might disappear quickly when eating or drinking. While it does leave a stain, it's not as long-lasting as a tint. It gives more of a 'healthy bare lips' look (which is expected for a color lip balm). Lasting Hydration: The moisturizing effect doesn't last very long, maybe about 2-3 hours. The glow also fades along with the hydration. If you're looking for a quick swipe for a bare-faced look, this works well on its own. For a hydrating pop of color, try layering it over a tint. I found that applying thin layers works better than swiping on the whole stick. Start from the center of your lips and work your way out for that beautiful glow you see in the photo. (By the way, in the photo, I applied a layer of Vaseline first, then the lip balm starting from the inner part of my lips.) - Hwahae UserCombination SkinMar 1, 2020
I bought this moisturizing lip balm tint to wear at school, and it seems great for naturally brightening my lip color. As expected with lip balm types, the staying power isn't that great. It's best used just for adding a light touch of color, while using a clear, non-shiny lip balm for hydration. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 12, 2020
The color is a beautiful pink-red that looks natural and perfect for a bare-faced look. The staying power is disappointing. It transfers easily onto cups and while it starts off glowy, it tends to dry out over time. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJan 16, 2020
As a lip balm, it surprisingly provides a natural tint, making it perfect for a bare-faced look. While it's moisturizing as a lip balm, it wears off more easily than expected, so the staying power is a bit disappointing. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSep 16, 2019
*This is my personal opinion: First, I appreciated the affordable price when purchasing. *I wanted to buy a tinted lip balm, and since this one was reasonably priced, I felt comfortable making the purchase. Second, it was easy to use. *While I usually need to carefully apply tints using a mirror, I could swipe this lip balm on without one, making it very convenient. Third, it has a pleasant scent. *The fragrance was one I particularly enjoy, which made using it a pleasant experience. First, the staying power is somewhat lacking. *The lips tend to dry out again after a short while, so you need to reapply frequently, which is a drawback. Second, I wasn't thrilled with the color. *When I applied too much, people called me 'auntie'. I think it looks pretty when applied moderately. It looks more beautiful when you apply it moderately by controlling the amount, rather than applying too much. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAug 2, 2019
The color payoff isn't bad, and it seems like a great shade for winter cool-toned bright complexions. It melts too easily, unfortunately. While the color is pretty, the staying power is very weak. It's moisturizing like a lip balm, but even that moisture doesn't last long. The color applies as a pink-red, but leaves a very pink stain. To sum up, it lacks the color longevity to be used as a tint alternative, and as a lip balm, the color is surprisingly intense while the moisture doesn't last long enough. These are the downsides. It might be worth the price if you buy it on sale. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 8, 2019
This is my favorite lip balm out of all the ones I've used so far. Since I rarely wear lipstick, I mainly use lip balms or tints. The shade 05 Rose has great color payoff, and it's not an overpowering red but a flattering red that I keep repurchasing and using. If there's one downside, it would be the staying power. Being a lip balm, you need to carry it around and reapply frequently. I find it looks beautiful when I use it for a gradient effect along with shade 03 Balsam. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinApr 14, 2019
1. The color payoff is intense 2. It can be applied naturally for a bare-faced look 3. It's moisturizing 1. The lip balm tends to smear on the case 2. Being a lip balm, the staying power is understandably poor - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinApr 2, 2019
1. Light application and good color payoff I use this when I want a lightweight lip product. The color suitability varies, so I recommend testing it yourself. I expected a subtle tint given it's a lip balm, but the color was more intense than anticipated. I bought this product looking for something moisturizing with added color. Its oily texture allows me to use it alone for a light application or layer it with other matte lip products, which I find great. 2. Hydrating and natural-looking The feel is hydrating rather than dry. The color has a translucent quality to it. 1. Packaging The case doesn't seem very durable. Despite not using it frequently, the outer lid has developed cracks. Additionally, the white-toned container combined with the product's tendency to smear makes it prone to staining both the exterior and the tint opening. 2. Application and longevity When reapplying, the product tends to smear slightly, so it's best applied in small amounts. As it's not a highly pigmented product, the staying power isn't particularly long-lasting. (Though I didn't choose this product specifically for its longevity) - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 2, 2018
The subtle color payoff makes this product perfect for students. It suits me so well that even if I lost it, I'd choose it again. It's ideal for students who don't want heavy makeup. The staying power is disappointing. It melts quickly when I keep it in my pocket. Also, the lid is flimsy and often opens, sometimes causing a mess in my bag. You'll need to store it carefully.
