The color payoff is truly very similar to MAC Chili. It's a beautiful brick red shade. On the downside, it's quite dry and matte due to its high pigmentation. Exfoliating to remove dead skin cells is essential when using this. - Hwahae UserOily SkinMar 3, 2019
I usually don't look good in brick colors, but this one has a light red and orange undertone that's not too heavy, so I could wear it without feeling self-conscious. The downside is that on days when my lips are dry, it tends to emphasize dead skin cells quite a bit. If you want to use it in winter, either apply lip balm before bed or put on lip balm before applying this lipstick to reduce the appearance of flaky skin. It looks really beautiful when applied as a gradient. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 12, 2019
The color was exactly the chili red shade I love. It's not completely matte. It tends to transfer easily and emphasizes dead skin cells quite noticeably. If you apply a generous amount of lip balm before bed, you'll be able to apply it beautifully the next day as it will help remove dead skin cells. - Hwahae UserOily SkinFeb 8, 2019
The color is absolutely gorgeous! It's the perfect brick shade. I love matte finishes, so I'm really happy with how matte this is. The sleek black packaging is a nice touch, giving it a clean and elegant look. After wearing it for a while, it seems to develop a slightly more orange tone. I personally prefer the initial color, which I found prettier. Here's a tip: Apply a generous layer of Vaseline the night before and sleep with it on. This helps remove dead skin cells, allowing the matte lipstick to go on beautifully! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJan 11, 2019
I bought this MAC Chili dupe because it was affordable, and the brick-red shade turned out to be gorgeous! It's a perfect match for my warm complexion. Absolutely love it! The scent is absolutely dreadful. It has this overwhelming ink-like odor mixed with a suffocating rubber clay smell. It's so strong it gives me a headache. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinNov 16, 2018
I bought this because I heard it was similar to MAC Chili, but personally I don't think it's that similar. However, the Red Chili shade is still pretty, so I want to repurchase it. It seems to be a bit more of a brick red color. The dead skin cells... When I apply it right after using Vaseline or lip balm, I don't notice it much. But when I reapply, it really emphasizes the flakiness on my lips. - Hwahae UserDry SkinAcne SkinSep 27, 2018
This is truly my favorite lipstick! The color is absolutely gorgeous - it's literally Red Chili as the name suggests. It's like a brick-red, autumnal shade reminiscent of gochujang. You can snag it for around $6-7 when it's on sale. I'm obsessed with the color and wear it every single day. It's quite drying. My lips tend to get very dry and flaky if I skip lip balm for even a day, so I'm diligent about lip care. The cap is flimsy - I have a habit of opening and closing lipsticks repeatedly, and now the cap won't close properly. Even without that, the cap loosens over time. Also, since the case is black, it was hard to distinguish from the Rose Marsala shade I bought together. Despite these drawbacks, the color is so beautiful that I'm on my umpteenth tube, willing to overlook the cons. I use a small pink lip balm in a tub (sorry, I can't remember the exact name) with Vaseline. Even on days when my lips are extra flaky, I apply it before bed, and by morning, all the dead skin cells are gone - it's amazing! I also use it before makeup, then wipe it off before applying lipstick. This helps even dry formulas go on beautifully. Its sticky texture is great for overnight use and exfoliation. For touch-ups during the day, I prefer Mentholatum lip balm. It feels refreshing and isn't sticky, which I love. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinAug 1, 2018
The color payoff is true to what you see in the tube. It's a warm-toned brick orange shade. I love how it adheres well to the lips and has a matte finish. This shade seems to complement all complexions beautifully. Great value for money, with a chic case and a gorgeous color. Since this product has a matte finish and applies with a matte texture, I wouldn't recommend it for those with a lot of dead skin cells on their lips. Apart from that, I'm satisfied with it. Because of its matte finish and application, I think the most beautiful way to wear this product is to apply lip balm first, then use a lip brush to create a gradient effect with the lipstick. - Hwahae UserDry SkinFeb 15, 2018
This product is famous for being a cheaper alternative to MAC Chili! After trying both, I found the color of this one to be even prettier. It's the quintessential brick red that takes care of all your MLBB (My Lips But Better) needs for fall and winter. It has a slightly moisturizing matte finish, which makes it less intimidating to wear, but winter is still winter... While I wanted to repurchase it, I decided against it for reasons I'll mention below. Still, if we're just talking about the color alone, it's truly a beautiful brick red. It's also great for mixing with other shades! 1. The case is extremely flimsy The packaging is really subpar. It comes apart in your pocket and even in your makeup pouch. For the first month of use, I knew it was flimsy but didn't think it was a big issue, so I carried it around. I thought maybe some debris was causing the problem, so I tried cleaning the lipstick residue from the connecting parts, but it turns out it's just a product flaw. 2. Emphasizes dead skin cells This may vary from person to person, but I understand this lipstick formula is supposed to be a moisturizing matte. However, if you apply it without exfoliating your lips first, just one press of your lips together will cause dead skin cells and lipstick to come off. A lip balm is absolutely necessary with this one! This lipstick works best when you prep your lips thoroughly (like using a lip mask) and apply it alone, or mix it with a more moisturizing lip product. I mentioned lip balm above, but that's more for emergencies - just a quick swipe, then wipe it off and reapply the lipstick. If you don't control the oiliness of the lip balm well, you'll end up with an unflattering 'ajumma lip' look. I don't mean the sophisticated older ladies, but more of an overly glossy effect that doesn't pair well with this lipstick. The bottom line is: make sure your lips are well-prepped and exfoliated before applying! - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinFeb 8, 2018
At first I was unsure, but the more I used it, the more I fell in love! It's truly a holy grail lip product! (It's that classic brick red, chili paste color) I wish the color was a bit more intense. It's slightly on the lighter side... When you swatch it, it looks deep, but when applied to the lips or blended for a gradient effect, it becomes a bit sheer. A lip scrub or balm before application is a must! While the dead skin cells aren't terribly noticeable, they're definitely there.
