Dry on the cheeks, with some oil production on the nose and forehead. Small bumps on the forehead, whiteheads on the chin, and dead skin cells on the nose. I received this product for free through the Hwahae Testers program. While a review isn't mandatory, I wanted to share my honest thoughts about the product I used. It's excellent at removing dead skin cells. The area around my nose tends to accumulate sebum and flakes, but it quickly cleans up when I use this with a cotton pad. For a toner labeled as 'Fresh' that exfoliates, it's surprisingly hydrating. After using this to prep my skin, I can get away with just applying cream. After exfoliating well and keeping my skin moisturized, I noticed a reduction in the whiteheads on my chin and the small bumps on my forehead. The cotton pads that came as part of the set are great. They're soft yet don't fall apart easily, making them perfect for facial cleansing. They're not chemically processed and don't contain fluorescent materials, which means less irritation from the cotton pads themselves.
ConsThe scent is quite alarming at first sniff - it has a strong alcohol smell that makes you worry it might strip all the moisture from your skin. Surprisingly, though, it feels hydrating when applied. The ingredients list isn't great. It contains potential allergens and aromatic oils or citrus extracts, which might be problematic for those with super sensitive skin. I liked how the product worked, but after checking the ingredients, I probably won't repurchase it. I started using it all over my face morning and night, but the ingredients seemed too harsh, so I switched to using it only in the mornings, focusing on areas with dead skin cells and excess sebum like my nose, chin, and forehead. I only use it occasionally on my cheeks. I had a dry, slightly cracked area next to my nose. Thinking it was just dead skin, I applied this product and nearly screamed from the burning sensation.
TipI'm not sure if the cotton pads are typically included or sold separately, but using them together enhances the experience. Those with sensitive skin should probably avoid this product.

After wiping, I noticed it smoothed out my skin's texture and seemed to reduce whiteheads.
ConsFor someone with dry skin like me, it feels too light and drying. The strong alcohol scent is also quite noticeable.
TipWhile not exactly a pro tip, since it's so effective at removing dead skin cells, whatever skincare you apply afterwards works even better. You can follow up with a hydrating ampoule or mix a nourishing oil with your cream for a thick overnight mask.

It's like a mix of alcohol and aloe vera?
Cons- I haven't found any downsides yet. I'll update if I notice anything after finishing the whole bottle!
Tip- After cleansing, I soak a cotton pad generously and focus on areas with whiteheads. It seems to gradually reduce both dead skin cells and whiteheads.

It looks clean and charming! I have combination skin with an oily T-zone and dry cheeks. What I loved most about using the Botanic Makiol Fresh Toner was how it helped manage my whiteheads and dead skin cells. Given its high moisture content and the key ingredients that supposedly regulate oil production, I had high hopes - and I wasn't disappointed! The effects were just as good as I expected. When I applied makeup after using this toner, I noticed my skin felt much less suffocated compared to my usual routine. Before, my forehead and butterfly zone would get unbearably shiny about 6 hours after applying makeup. But after using the Makiol Fresh Toner, it's reduced to just a slight sheen. Plus, thanks to the PHA ingredients and oil control, I've seen a significant decrease in both the frequency and number of major blemishes. The stress relief from this alone has been truly amazing! I also love the fresh scent. The apple mint gives it a wonderfully invigorating aroma. The cooling effect is great too, making it perfect as a summer exfoliating toner. They say consistent use for about 4 weeks can even reduce the appearance of pores, so I plan to keep using it regularly. I'll definitely repurchase this in the future. If you're struggling with dead skin cells and sebum control, this is a toner I'd highly recommend!
ConsThe only downside is that it's a completely water-based formula, so it's not quite enough for hydration on its own. I've been alternating it with a more moisturizing toner. However, I don't consider this a major flaw since I believe it's hard to find a product that excels at both exfoliation and hydration.
TipHere's my tip for using this product: Since it contains gentle exfoliating ingredients, you can use it daily without irritation, eliminating the need for separate exfoliation. The key is consistent, everyday use!

First off, it feels like it's really exfoliating those dead skin cells! After cleansing, I wipe my face once, focusing mainly on the nose area to manage whiteheads. I can really feel it cleaning out the pores and whiteheads around my nose, leaving it feeling fresh and clean. I'm quite satisfied using it primarily on my nose, chin, and T-zone as it gives a sense of thorough cleansing. For drier areas like my cheeks, I follow up with an extra layer of hydrating toner.
ConsGiven that it's an exfoliating toner, those with dry skin might find it a bit drying. In that case, I'd recommend using it selectively on areas with more oil production, like for managing whiteheads around the nose. Targeting specific areas could lead to better results and satisfaction.
TipFor those with dry skin like mine, rather than applying it all over your face, try using it first as an exfoliant. Then, soak a cotton pad and use it to target specific areas like your nose, chin, or T-zone to manage whiteheads. This targeted approach should lead to greater satisfaction with the product.

My face feels less greasy, and I've noticed a decrease in whiteheads and uneven texture!
ConsIf you don't have oily skin, this might be too drying year-round. It's probably best suited for those with oily or combination skin during summer. For other seasons, you'll need to layer it with a cream or emulsion.
TipFor those with combination skin, I'd recommend using this product primarily on the T-zone area for best results.

Super sensitive skin. - Texture: Feels like a regular water toner with no viscosity. I used it with a cotton pad. - Effects: Dead skin cell removal! I have dry skin so I don't usually exfoliate, but when I was concerned about whiteheads on my nose, this worked wonders. Closed comedones! I had so many on my chin due to wearing a mask. You know those stubborn ones without a visible opening? Well, they finally came to a head. Such a relief! Unlike most exfoliating/blemish-calming products that can be harsh for daily use, this one is perfect for a daily routine. - Overall: ★ ★ ★ ★ ★!! A sebum-controlling toner that even dry skin types can use! It's fantastic for summer, and I'll definitely repurchase when I run out. Highly recommended!
ConsI can't think of many downsides... There aren't really any cons, though it can be a bit drying on the cheeks. But that's to be expected from a sebum-controlling toner!
TipIf cotton pads feel too harsh, just placing the toner-soaked pad on your nose area can be hydrating and beneficial.

Highly recommend! As I have dry skin, I don't use it all over my face. Instead, I apply it with a cotton pad on my problem areas - forehead, sides of the nose, and chin - where whiteheads tend to appear. Following the advice, I gently massage in circular motions against the direction of the pores. It works wonders! I can immediately feel my skin becoming smoother, which is so satisfying. Before trying it, I was worried it might be too drying since it's for oily skin types. But surprisingly, it's more hydrating than I expected!
ConsI usually prefer exfoliating toners for whitehead care. One downside is that when applied directly with hands, the absorption isn't ideal. For better results, I'd suggest using a cotton pad to apply it.

It's also helped reduce whiteheads under my chin and sebum around my nose. I think this will be perfect for eliminating excess oil daily without irritation as summer approaches. Definitely a holy grail product!
ConsThe exfoliating ingredients in the product can make it feel a bit tingly, which is slightly disappointing. I keep using it though, thinking of it as the sensation of sebum dissolving.
TipI'm currently using the foam cleanser, serum, and toner from this line. I highly recommend using all three products together for maximum effectiveness! Even just soaking a cotton pad with the toner and wiping it along your skin texture is incredibly helpful for eliminating excess sebum.
