When applied to areas with high sebum production like the T-zone, under the chin, and forehead, it felt noticeably cooling and effectively controlled oiliness. I found that using it alongside other pore-targeting products seemed to maximize its effectiveness in regulating excess sebum production! As someone with super sensitive skin, I found it too irritating to use. It stung quite a bit and had a strong alcohol scent. Compared to other toners, it seemed to dry much faster, and despite being a water-based toner, it left a sticky, thin film on my skin. Overall, the finish wasn't pleasant for me. - do*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedFeb 25, 2025
It absorbs well and sinks into the skin quickly. Perfect for daily use. It has a distinct scent that some people might not enjoy. - si**********Oily SkinAcne SkinNov 26, 2024
The generous amount was great for liberal application, and I loved how my skin felt more firm and elastic with each layer I applied. The scent has a slight alcohol smell that might be polarizing. The toner's performance was just okay. I had high hopes since it's supposed to be good for oily skin, but I can't say there's anything particularly impressive about it. - ki*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessRecommendedNov 18, 2024
It really gives that cleansing sensation. Perfect for refining skin texture and evening out complexion. It can be drying and a bit irritating. You'll need to follow up with a good moisturizer. - sr***Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessJun 25, 2024
Highly recommended for extremely oily skin types only. It lathers well when used in a foam dispenser. Very potent. I used it like other toners, putting it in a foam dispenser and applying it to my face like an emulsion. It severely stung my eyes. Strongly discourage for sensitive combination dehydrated skin. Seems suitable only for those with resilient, very oily skin. - tg****Oily SkinSensitive SkinOct 23, 2023
The large volume means it should last a long time. I'm not sure about any other advantages. I was surprised that this toner doesn't finish with a fresh feel, but instead leaves a sticky residue. After using it, my face felt slightly tingly and irritated, which was disappointing. - ye************Dry SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedAug 11, 2023
Since it's a water-based toner, I applied it to my skin using a cotton pad. It absorbed well, felt light on application, and lasted for a long time - which I love! It's great for a quick application after washing your face. This could be really helpful for those with oily skin or excess sebum! It's fine for everyday use, but when I'm exposed to air conditioning for long periods, my skin feels overly dry and tight. - em*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJul 28, 2023
The formula has a lightweight, watery texture that's perfect for patting onto the skin. It absorbs quickly, leaving a slight stickiness that soon disappears completely. The finish feels pleasantly matte. There's a fragrance that might be hit or miss - personally, it's not my favorite scent. It would be great if this came in a larger size. Since I also use it as a skin pack, I find the amount decreases quite quickly. - an*****Combination SkinRecommendedJun 6, 2023
It's great as a morning exfoliating toner. The refreshing feel makes it perfect for those with oily skin. It's a bit tricky to control the amount, and it might not be ideal for those with dry skin. - ks*****Dry SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 21, 2023
Even though it's marketed for oily skin, I underestimated it, thinking it would be just moderately refreshing. My mistake, I admit. But I never expected it to target oily skin so aggressively. Combining this with the downsides I'll mention below, the conclusion is that this product is truly designed for extremely oily skin types only. The scent has an alcohol smell, but not the kind you'd typically find in men's cosmetics. It's more like industrial alcohol? It gives off an eerie vibe, like lying on a cold operating table in a laboratory. When I applied it to my face, wow! The sticky feeling was beyond just tacky - it felt downright gooey and wouldn't go away. I suspect these strange-feeling ingredients might be designed to oxidize along with sebum. When Makiol first advertised 'sebum removing' as a key feature, I thought to myself, 'Why not just say sebum control?' But now I see - this toner is so intense, if someone without oily skin used it, their face might end up 'removed' as punishment for using the wrong product for their skin type!
