While it's not quite as good as foundation, it offers comparable coverage. It's not exceptional, but considering the price, it's quite decent, which is why I bought it again. I wonder if it's been reformulated?
ConsWhen I used the first bottle, it wasn't like this, but this time it's really emphasizing dead skin cells and pilling like dirt (see photo). So disappointing...
TipIf you use the included puff, it will definitely cake up. Throw away the included puff and try pairing it with the Real Techniques pink puff from Olive Young instead - they work well together.

Is this combination dehydrated skin? I also have a bit of melasma, some barely noticeable acne scars and moles here and there, and my skin turns red like I've had a drink when I'm hot, nervous, or after washing. Does this sound familiar? When I apply this product, there's a nice cooling effect and it feels hydrating. It covers light melasma well and does a good job hiding blackheads, though pimples are still visible. I didn't use any sunscreen until last year and noticed some melasma appearing, but this summer I only used this product and my melasma didn't get worse. I haven't tried other products, so I can't say it's amazing, but it's somewhere between decent and good. I don't wear makeup, just sunscreen. I'm new to skincare, so I'm not sure how helpful this is!
ConsIt tends to pill a bit when reapplied after some time. I'd like to correct my earlier statement - at first application it feels light, but for my oily skin, it doesn't feel particularly lightweight.

The cushion format made it really easy to apply!
ConsUnfortunately, it tends to slide off and fade quickly, so the staying power isn't great. It seems to disappear from your skin in no time.

Even with reapplication, it layers well without darkening and lasts all day, making it fantastic for oily skin in summer. Despite its powder-like finish, it doesn't accentuate dead skin cells or cause dryness. This is the first brightening moisturizer that's shown such impressive staying power on my skin, so I'll likely keep using it despite a few minor drawbacks.
ConsIt tends to pill under a mask, like dirt coming off. I've tried other Missha brightening moisturizers and they also pill, so I'm not sure if it's a brand issue or just my skin. However, even with pilling, it doesn't completely come off and still maintains some brightening effect. Unless you have oily skin, you'll need to apply a thorough skincare routine beforehand. The powder-like finish can feel quite drying.

I'm satisfied using this sun cushion alone as it fills in pores effectively. Natural brightening/Healthy complexion Since this product matches skin tone, it doesn't just whiten but naturally brightens to give a healthy-looking complexion. Usually when I buy shade 23 foundations, they often feel too yellow, but this shade 23 isn't overly bright or yellow on my face, which I appreciate.
ConsPilling like dead skin If you apply too much skincare beforehand, the cushion can pill like dead skin cells when applied. I used to consider the original Missha Toning Sun Tension as my holy grail product (used about 7 containers). So when a similar product was released, I bought it with high expectations. However, in my personal opinion, it falls short of the Sun Tension, which is quite disappointing.
TipNo matter how well-made a sun cushion is, since it has a brightening function and added color, it's difficult to apply the proper amount for full sun protection (in my opinion). So I'm currently using a regular squeeze-type sunscreen and using the sun cushion like a foundation.

While the previous version of this sun cushion was very pink and cool-toned, this one is more subtle, leaning slightly towards pink and cool. It blends well even with warm-toned makeup without looking out of place.
ConsThe downside is that it doesn't pair well with foundation. It tends to pill and settle into fine lines. However, since it works great on its own, it's not a big issue.
TipI'm writing this review after using both products from a 1+1 deal. During the pandemic, when I rarely wore foundation, I found myself using this a lot. It doesn't transfer heavily onto masks and doesn't melt into a greasy mess under the mask either.

Beyond that, I'm not sure if the ingredients are good.
ConsThe pilling... It's frustrating. I have to keep reapplying, which is inconvenient. I think it might not work well under foundation.
TipIt's not great.
