This product is excellent for calming the skin. I loved that I never experienced any itching when using it. After absorption, there's a slight feeling of dryness. It's disappointing that it doesn't fully address deep dryness. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinDec 12, 2023
It was a gentle gel-like texture, similar to aloe. A safe and reliable product overall. For someone with severe deep dryness like me, my skin felt dry again quickly, which was disappointing. No special tips to share, but I think this would be good for those with oily or combination skin types. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinJun 12, 2023
I love how it absorbs quickly without feeling sticky. Grab it when it's on sale! I'm using both the ampoule and cream, but my skin still feels dry. Even after applying the gel, it's still dry, unfortunately. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinJul 4, 2022
For combination dehydrated skin and super sensitive skin prone to blemishes: I've been using B-PLAIN Multi Hyaluronic Acid Cream regularly, but since summer's here, I wanted to try something lighter, so I bought this. Texture: It's similar to aloe vera gel. The feel when applying is also comparable to aloe. It's great for lightweight application. Unfortunately, it didn't suit me well. After using it for over a week, I started developing folliculitis and blemishes all over my face, making me hate looking in the mirror. My family even commented that my skin looks dull these days. When I applied base makeup over this, instead of going on smoothly, it felt patchy and uneven. As someone with combination dehydrated skin, I experienced severe deep dryness. I'm planning to switch back to my previous cream sample. I think it's because my skin is extremely sensitive and lacks hydration. Other family members are using it without any issues. If you're looking for a lightweight product, I'd recommend this! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinApr 4, 2022
It's my first time trying this calming gel, and I love how it seems to soothe my skin and feels refreshingly cool. Being a gel, it's not very moisturizing. If you have deep dryness like me, this might not be suitable for you. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinMar 16, 2022
Skin type: - Combination dehydrated skin year-round (excess oil in T-zone, dehydrated U-zone) - Oil and moisture balance varies by season (winter products 60% hydration:40% oil, summer products 80% hydration:20% oil, approximately) Skin concerns: Since January 2022, persistent milia/pustular acne on forehead/cheeks/chin/hairline.. It wasn't this bad even during PMS or seasonal imbalances.. Worse than puberty.. Not knowing the cause, I completely overhauled my skincare routine in March. Changed skincare line: (B.plane) Green Bean Cleansing Foam → Green Bean Balancing Toner → Cica Full Ampoule 2nd Gen → Cica Full Calming Gel → (Dr.G) Red Blemish Clear Soothing Cream (Note: It might be difficult to pinpoint which product exactly improved my skin concerns. I'll try to observe carefully and leave detailed reviews.) Pros: 1. 92% Centella Asiatica extract(?)... I started using this along with the Cica Full Ampoule 2nd Gen (81% Centella), so it's like a double dose of soothing Centella goodness for my skin. With even more Centella than the ampoule, I'm hoping this gel will help end my acne party. 2. Lives up to its 'Calming Gel' name. Gentle, rich yet spreads easily, and cooling. Though it's pricey so I can't slather it on like aloe gel, it's the kind of calming gel that makes you want to apply it thickly and sit in front of a fan when your face feels hot. 3. It's packed with pure hydration. You could apply it generously once, twice, three, or four times, and it would still just be hydration galore. Of course, more than two applications would be wasteful and probably too much for the skin to absorb... The point is this: after absorption, there's no stickiness or greasiness left behind! Just pure, replenished moisture! Skin Improvement Progress (ongoing, will update soon) Day 1: Acne party on forehead/cheeks/chin... Day 3: Overall acne calming down... Forehead photo attached! I've included my skin type and concerns to make this review more helpful. Here's hoping we all achieve that dewy, glowing, strong, smooth, and firm skin! Downsides: First, the price point doesn't allow for guilt-free generous application... Secondly, given my skin type, my U-zone requires some level of oil. No matter how hydrating it is, there's still some tightness after absorption. Even after applying Cica Full Ampoule 2nd Gen → Cica Full Calming Gel for maximum hydration, after about 30 minutes I felt some deep dryness in my cheek area, so I finished with a slightly oily moisturizer. However, I don't consider this a flaw in the product. If the gel had oil in it...(?) I wouldn't be able to apply it liberally, and it would be all sticky and messy.. Right now, I'm loving how hydration-packed it is... - Hwahae UserDry SkinMar 8, 2022
It feels moisturizing and soothing, making it seem like great value for money! The scent is a bit off-putting, and I notice some deep dryness after using it. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAcne SkinFeb 25, 2022
This is great for calming the skin when your face is flushed! If you apply just the right amount, it doesn't pill or feel sticky. It's a simple, lightweight gel that's perfect for soothing the skin. If you use this alone, you'll feel quite dry after it absorbs. You can't expect it to provide enough hydration by itself. It's best to quickly follow up with a cream or another moisturizing step after this absorbs. It's also great for cooling down your face if you apply a slightly thicker layer. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 4, 2022
It seems to be great for soothing the skin without any oiliness, similar to an aloe gel. It's a bit ambiguous. This is too dry to use alone as a moisturizer (it's far less hydrating than an ampoule) and leaves deep dryness on the skin. However, it's oddly thick to use as a pre-cream step, so I'd rather use an essence or ampoule for better layering. It doesn't make me want to reach for it... If you apply a moisturizer right after this, it tends to pill a bit. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinJan 28, 2022
It's fantastic to keep this in the fridge and use it to soothe your face when it feels hot! Since it's not very rich, it might be challenging to address deep dryness!
