I wanted to try the Hwahae extract, so I bought it. I used it for about a month. It's a complete water-based formula, so it absorbs lightly and nicely. You can even use it like a mist by putting it in an empty bottle. The redness seems to be definitely calmed down.
Cons
While the acne and sebum did not calm down, the redness was reduced, but the skin did not improve. Additionally, there was a slightly unusual odor.

The first product I encountered among the ones I had once considered buying was the Hwahae product that had suddenly become popular due to the Hwahae and Centella asiatica ingredients. As it was an extract, I felt like a cosmetic researcher as I adjusted and combined the usage. I boldly poured the extract onto a cotton pad and applied it to my face, but the Hwahae scent was quite strong. If Hwahae suits you, I would recommend trying it out. This brand seems to be the original(?) in selling just the extracts.
Cons
At that time, I was ignorant of Houttuynia cordata and Centella asiatica, so I thought they would have moisture like hyaluronic acid and used them as a substitute for skin toner and applied cream. Absolutely not. Do not do that. I ended up scratching my face because it became dry and itchy. Nowadays, there are many well-formulated products, so it's better to buy them when you want special care. I'm also a klutz and my skin seems to be like a traditional Korean herb (Mom, those are good for the body~).
