I always mix concealer with my foundation before applying it to my skin. I've tested everything from the highly-praised NARS concealer to K-beauty brands like CLIO, WAKEMAKE, Etude, Giverny, BANILAСO, and Peripera - mixing them all with my foundation. But since I use Dior Forever Matte foundation in my mix, the only concealer that blends seamlessly and adheres perfectly to my skin is the Dior Forever concealer. I'll share my foundation mix tips later! I bought mine at a Dior Beauty counter. The 1N shade matches me perfectly, but they were out of stock that day. So, I thought mixing 0.5N and 1.5N would give me 1N, and bought both. There isn't a huge difference in tone, so I just use whichever I grab. The generous amount means I can just pack this for trips! I don't typically use it to cover blemishes. My face tends to have uneven tone, so I use it to conceal redness and even out my overall complexion. Mixing it with foundation means a little goes a long way in covering redness, and it doesn't look cakey or fade quickly. It does transfer to masks a bit, but I'll explain how to deal with that in my tips section. The doe-foot applicator has a narrow opening, which can cause product to build up and leak around the bottle's neck. This seems unavoidable. Also, the tip is quite thick, making it difficult to control the amount of product dispensed. I wish the tip was a bit smaller. For my foundation mix, I use 1 pump of Dior Forever Skin Matte foundation, 1 applicator-tip worth of concealer, and 1 pump of Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation SPF 15 (I sometimes use 1.5 pumps if my skin feels dry). I blend this mixture and apply it with a damp Happy Rim sponge. I always do my makeup this way. I start by applying a thin layer, then pat it in firmly as if I'm trying to make it one with my skin. For areas needing more coverage, I dab on a bit more. For the second layer, I pat very gently to avoid disturbing the first layer. This method gives great adherence and longevity, even for someone like me with problematic skin. After skincare but before foundation, I dust on a layer of Hera Blur Primer Powder. This helps minimize transfer to masks and prevents the makeup from looking patchy or worn off. It's a game-changer! I'm not a makeup artist, so I rely on great products to shine. If I forget the Hera primer, I apply a generous layer of loose powder after foundation. I recommend BANILAСO loose powder or Mamonde Neo Loose Powder for this. I've been using this method consistently from summer through winter (I bought the Dior concealer in summer). Amazingly, this combination gives consistent results regardless of the season. I used to struggle with my base makeup during seasonal changes, especially in spring and fall. But this combination works so well, I've stuck with it. (I store any leftover foundation mix in a small cream jar from Daiso, keeping it away from light, and use it the next day.)
