I am a person who always mixes concealer into my foundation. I've tried mixing in various K-beauty brand concealers like Nars, Clio, Wake Make, Etude, Giverny, Banila Co, and Peripera into my mixed foundation, but the Dior Forever Matte Foundation that I have seems to blend the best with the Dior Forever Concealer, giving a seamless, adhering finish on my face. I'll share some tips on mixing foundations. I bought the Dior concealer from the Dior beauty store, and the 1N shade matched me perfectly, but they didn't have it in stock that day. So I just bought the 0.5N and 1.5N shades and have been mixing them, and the tone difference isn't too significant, so I've just been using whichever I grab. The large volume also makes it convenient to just bring this when traveling. I don't use it primarily to cover blemishes, since I have uneven skin tone, so I use it to color correct redness and even out my overall complexion. Mixing it into my foundation means I can use a smaller amount to effectively cover redness without it looking cakey or wearing off quickly. There is some transfer onto my mask, which I'll also explain in the tips.
Cons
The narrow opening of the bottle seems to cause the product to get stuck around the opening, which is kind of unavoidable. Also, the thick applicator tip makes it tricky to control the amount that comes out. It would be better if the tip was a bit smaller.
Tip
For my mixed foundation, I do 1 pump of the Dior Forever Skin Matte Foundation, 1 tip's worth of concealer scooped out, and 1 (~1.5 if my skin feels dry) pump of the Bobbi Brown Skin Long-Wear Weightless Foundation Compact. I then use a damp Beautyblender to apply this mixture all over my face. After applying it thinly, I gently pat it into the skin with the mindset of making it one with my skin. For areas that need more coverage, I dab on some more of the mixed foundation. For the second layer, I lightly tap it on without pressing too hard, so the initial layer doesn't get disturbed and the new layer can adhere well. Even with my problematic skin, this method gives me a seamless, long-lasting finish without any cakiness or lifting. Before applying the foundation, I also like to use the Hera Blur Primer Powder, which helps control oil and prevent the makeup from transferring onto my mask, without making my skin look powdery or cakey. If I forget to use the Hera primer, I make sure to generously apply a loose powder like the Banila Co or Mamonde Neo Loose Powder after my foundation. This also works well to keep everything in place. I've been using this routine consistently from summer through the current winter season, and it's been amazing how it adapts so well without any seasonal issues, which I used to struggle with in the past. (I bought the Dior concealer during the summer, and I store the leftover foundation in a small container away from light to use the next day.)
