I'll need to observe a bit longer for improvements in pigmentation and overall skin tone! I've used other sheet masks containing niacinamide and Sebita B gel ointment (with nicotinamide), which made me realize niacinamide works well for my skin. That's why I decided to purchase The Ordinary's single-ingredient niacinamide product. (I used Sebita B gel for about 6 weeks, but since it's an ointment, I wanted a skincare product with niacinamide, even if the concentration is lower) After using it, I noticed improved sebum control on days when I mixed it into my morning skincare routine. With consistent use, I felt a significant reduction in inflammatory acne. I apply a small amount of The Ordinary Niacinamide when using essence, and when masking, I apply a sheet mask and then generously pour The Ordinary Houttuynia Cordata on top. It seems to really help with soothing my skin.
ConsYou need to be very careful with the amount you use! I mix a small amount with my serum, but when I increased the quantity, I woke up to a dead skin cell explosion the next day...

ConsAfter application, my skin felt incredibly irritated, and the areas where I applied it became severely red and rough, as if dead skin cells were forming. Absolutely not recommended for sensitive skin!

I also appreciated that it caused minimal irritation.
ConsIf I had to point out a downside, since I used it in place of toner, it felt less effective at smoothing out dead skin cells.
TipI found it works best when applied with a cotton pad. It's easy to control the amount as you can adjust the pressure, so try not to use too much at once for optimal results.

It's so hydrating, and I've heard it helps with brightening too. Since it's affordable, I even apply it all over my body. What a great value!
ConsI'm not sure if it's just me, but I'd strongly advise against applying this to your lips when you're using it on your face like a toner. My lips suddenly developed a lot of dead skin cells, almost as if the skin was peeling off. It was quite uncomfortable.
TipIt works wonders when applied to sun-tanned areas or dark circles! I love how gentle it is, so I can use it liberally like a toner. It's fantastic!
