I got it at a great price with a shipping deal, and I think it was a good purchase. After using it, there's no squeaky clean feeling, just a soft sensation. It's suitable as a second cleanser in your routine.
ConsIt doesn't produce a lot of foam or have a rich, creamy texture. I haven't tried it with a foam maker, which might improve the experience. The lather was a bit lacking for a foam cleanse.

I use about a fingertip's worth, and it produces enough foam for a thorough face wash. I use it as a second cleanse after my cleansing oil, and it removes sunscreen effectively. I don't wear makeup, so I can't speak to that, but I imagine it would work well. After washing, my skin feels soft and hydrated rather than squeaky clean, which is great. No blemishes either!
ConsThe scent is somehow off-putting to me. Maybe I'm not used to it yet since I haven't been using it for long. Also, the texture isn't firm but rather runny, so when I squeeze it out, it doesn't come out cleanly but tends to drip. This means I have to wipe around the opening, which is an extra step I'd rather not do.

The foam is gentle, and it effectively removes oil. As long as you don't scrub too vigorously, it won't irritate your skin.
ConsThe scent might be a bit polarizing. The foam doesn't have that rich, dense texture some might prefer.

Minimal dryness after cleansing 2. Effective cleansing despite being a low pH foam cleanser 3. Lathers well even with a small amount
Cons1. Has a characteristic foam cleanser scent 2. While it lathers easily, the foam is light rather than rich and creamy
TipAlthough it's a low pH foam cleanser, it has great cleansing effectiveness. Dr. Alga claims it can remove even sunscreen, but it's recommended to double cleanse for thorough sunscreen removal. While double cleansing might seem harsh on the skin, this Dr. Alga foam cleanser is gentle and less drying, so you can use it with satisfaction!

My skin type is super sensitive and combination dehydrated. I focused mainly on gentleness and suitability for sensitive skin. The photos show my skin before cleansing (10 hours after applying BB cream) and after cleansing. 1. Irritation ★★★☆☆ Please note that my skin is extremely sensitive right now, so it might react more strongly! Unlike regular foams that instantly turn my skin red, this product didn't cause such a dramatic reaction. However, it wasn't completely irritation-free. There was still some slight redness... It seemed comparable to other typical low pH foam cleansers. In short, it's less irritating than regular foams, but not dramatically different from other low pH cleansers! 2. Texture ★★★★☆ Like other gentle, low pH products, it doesn't leave your skin feeling squeaky clean, but rather moisturized! This might be hit or miss, but since most people using low pH products likely have sensitive skin, I consider it a plus. 3. Scent ★★★★☆ The scent is just... typical of fragrance-free gentle foams. Some might dislike it, but as someone who prefers gentle products, I appreciated the lack of added fragrances!
Cons1. Foam Texture ★★★☆☆ It's definitely not as rich and creamy as Perfect Whip! Most low pH, gentle foams tend to produce some initial lather that disappears as you apply it. This product doesn't foam up very well either. However, considering its gentle ingredients, it wasn't unbearably inconvenient. 2. Cleansing Power ★★★☆☆ As always with gentle products, the cleansing power leaves something to be desired. It didn't effectively remove colored point makeup. It definitely wouldn't be enough to remove foundation with just one cleanse. I use Zeroid Dermanewal Cleansing Gel as my first cleanse (highly recommended! Oils are too rich and irritating, and even micellar waters can be harsh due to cotton pad friction, but this gel type is super gentle), then follow up with this foam cleanser. 3. Effectiveness ★★★☆☆ I didn't notice any significant improvement in redness or inflammation while using this product. However, it was less irritating than regular foams. It's just... okay! 4. Repurchase Intention ★★☆☆☆ There's nothing particularly bad about it, but it seems like a rather average product! Since I didn't see any dramatic effects that would make me want to stick with it, I probably won't repurchase... I'll update this review if I notice any improvements with continued use!
TipFor foam cleansers, using a foam net is ideal, but if you're using your hands, don't just rub a small amount between your palms and use it right away. Instead, work it into a rich lather with your fingers before applying. This creates more foam for a gentler cleansing experience!

Considering I used this as a second cleanser, it seems to be quite hydrating. - Less irritation: When cleansing, it didn't sting much even on blemish-prone areas. However, there was a slight tingling sensation when it came into contact with the eye area. - Sebum control: With the weather lately, my forehead, U-zone, and chin have been a mess with excess oil. But after using this product to cleanse and following up with just light skincare, my closed comedones and excess sebum have generally improved.
Cons- Lather: I prefer a rich lather, but when applied directly to the face, the foam is quite thin. If you want a creamier texture, you'll need to use a cleansing sponge or other tool. It's so thin that when it touches your nostrils and you exhale, the bubbles expand quite a bit...? - Scent: There's an ambiguous smell, maybe paraffin or something. When I rubbed it on my lips while cleansing, it left a bitter and stuffy feeling that didn't go away even after rinsing my mouth again. I think this might be unavoidable due to it being fragrance-free. You do get used to it after a while though, haha. I haven't used it as a single-step cleanser, so I couldn't verify its cleansing effectiveness on its own. I'll update on that later!
TipUsing a sponge or foam maker creates a rich, creamy lather!

It was a great introduction to Dr. Alga. I'm planning to try their other products next! 1. Gentle Recently, my skin has been acting up and becoming super sensitive due to wearing masks. I couldn't even use foam cleansers and had to carefully cleanse with oil. But this cleanser is gentle, lathers well, and is great to use without irritation. 2. Hydrating I've always disliked that squeaky-clean feeling, so I rarely used foam cleansers before, sticking to oil cleansing. But with summer coming, I needed something more refreshing yet still gentle. This cleanser leaves my skin feeling smooth after washing and doesn't dry it out immediately after. It's perfect for a clean and hydrating cleanse!
ConsThere's not much to complain about, but if I had to nitpick, it doesn't lather up much. Instead of rich foam, it's more like bubbly lather? I guess that's because the surfactants and ingredients are gentle. So I'm just using it happily anyway!
TipPersonally, I think this would work really well for combination dehydrated skin rather than oily skin types. It cleanses thoroughly while keeping skin hydrated! I'm hesitant to recommend foam cleansers to those with dry skin, but this one might be better than other harsh foam cleansers out there. Give it a try!
