I've been using Before Sunset for several years since my early 20s, but this year I wanted to try a color with a hint of pink rather than the intense shade. My complexion is bright with a pinkish undertone, and this color seems to match my face perfectly. It gives my face a radiant glow, and while it's matte, if you apply lip balm before the lipstick, it doesn't feel too dry. The staying power is also quite impressive. After using Before Sunset for so long, I tried Rom&nd tint for a change, but it made my lip's dead skin cells too noticeable. This lipstick, however, works well even with some flakiness and lasts long, making it my favorite. I don't think I'll be able to switch to anything else in the future. There weren't any aspects I found disappointing. Everything about it is great. If you find it too matte, try applying lip balm first. It might vary from person to person, but this method worked well for me. - mu****Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresDec 24, 2024
This lipstick underwent a dramatic transformation from its original muted pink with sweet potato undertones to a vibrant fuchsia plum shade after being reformulated. It now has a fluorescent quality with strong cool undertones, making it a perfect choice for cool-toned beauties. However, warm-toned individuals should steer clear of this one. The application can be a bit stiff, and layering it multiple times tends to accentuate dead skin cells on the lips. - cj*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedOct 19, 2024
As a cool-toned lipstick, the color is absolutely gorgeous! I often get cold sores from using the wrong lipsticks, but this one doesn't cause any issues! It melts easily and can break, but there are so many advantages that I keep using it! - wn*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedSep 2, 2024
True to its name, this lipstick applies with a matte finish. It has excellent staying power and adheres well to the lips. The color payoff is particularly impressive - it's truly a work of art! If I had to nitpick, I'd say the product quantity is a bit on the smaller side. But honestly, that's hardly a drawback worth mentioning. There are no significant cons to speak of. - ju**********Combination SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 10, 2024
A lovely pink shade that would suit cool skin tones beautifully. The color payoff is excellent and the hue is absolutely gorgeous. Due to its formula, it tends to transfer easily. There's also a slight emphasis on dead skin cells. - pa******Dry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 22, 2024
As someone with a light undertone, I find this slightly dark plum-pink shade really pretty. While light undertones generally don't suit heavy makeup, this lip color works great as an accent piece! The formula is matte but not overly dry, which is a plus. I also appreciate that it doesn't have an overpowering scent like some lipsticks do. This shade would be perfect for cool-toned individuals, especially in winter. If you have a cool undertone, you'll get a lot of use out of this color. The value for money is excellent too! The longevity isn't particularly impressive. If you have dry skin, you'll need to apply a separate lip balm for moisture. It can also accentuate dead skin cells, so make sure to exfoliate well before application. - wo*******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 23, 2023
It goes on lightly. The staying power isn't much different from other tints or lipsticks - you'll need to reapply after eating. The color applies beautifully. Nothing particularly bad, but since it's called 'matte' in the product name, the matte finish is unavoidable. I'm not too familiar with personal color theory, but I think this would look lovely on those with cool winter undertones. - co****Dry SkinOct 29, 2023
The Sweet Pea shade is really pretty! I bought it directly from Olive Young. The downside was that it emphasized dead skin cells. Other than that, it was okay. - hg*******Dry SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedOct 3, 2023
This shade is perfect for winter cool tones. It's great as an accent lip color. Apart from slightly emphasizing dead skin cells, I can't think of any other downsides. - hs****Dry SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 31, 2023
I love the matte finish of the case - it's sturdy and beautiful. The lipstick applies smoothly without emphasizing dead skin cells. The formula tends to smudge easily, which is disappointing. The color appears brighter on the lips than when swatched on the back of the hand (may vary by individual). I was expecting a purple sweet potato or violet shade, but as time passed, it turned into a pink with a lot of white undertones. While it might suit those with cool undertones, it wasn't the color payoff I was hoping for.
