I have extremely severe atopic dermatitis. My skin has recovered to the point where my eyebrows have grown back. In the past, I scratched my face so much that all my eyebrows fell out, earning me the nickname 'Mona Lisa'. I've been using this foam cleanser since that time and continue to use it to this day. I've tried mugwort soap and propolis soap, but they only intensified the itching and irritation without providing any relief. However, this product actually seems to soothe the irritation... Even a small amount produces a good lather and it's incredibly gentle. I believe this little helper played a role in alleviating my atopic dermatitis to some extent. I really liked it so much... I can't think of any particular drawbacks. There's a foaming pump at Daiso. If you use that to create foam, it increases the cleansing effectiveness a bit! Just a tip for you to consider. - ke*****Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessApr 15, 2025
1. Texture When creating foam, it produces a reasonably soft lather even with bare hands. It's not particularly elastic or extremely soft, but it's decent. 2. Non-irritating I have acne-prone skin, but this didn't cause any irritation. It's quite gentle. 3. Price This product often goes on sale for first-time orders or as a side item, so the regular price doesn't really matter. If you purchase it during these promotions, it's quite affordable, which is why I'm listing it as an advantage. 1. Cleansing effectiveness I don't wear makeup, so I haven't tested it on various products, but I encountered two issues: First, with the Red Erasing Cream. Even though it's from the same brand, when I try to cleanse after applying the Red Erasing Cream, this cleanser doesn't foam well, making me doubt if it's cleaning properly. When I touch my skin afterwards, I feel like I need to cleanse again to remove the film left by the skincare products. Second, with mineral sunscreen. I alternate between mineral and hybrid sunscreens, but this cleanser struggles to remove mineral sunscreens. I need to use an oil cleanser first, then follow up with this. I wouldn't recommend this if you're looking for a first-step cleanser. 2. Soothing effect I'm not sure if this is truly meant for acne-prone skin. While it didn't make things worse or cause irritation, I didn't notice any difference before and after using this product, which is why I'm listing it as a drawback. - 7j********Combination SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedApr 12, 2025
⭐️Review from combination skin user⭐️ As someone with combination skin prone to red, millet-like blemishes, I was curious about trying an acne-focused foam cleanser. This product, being mildly alkaline, offers excellent cleansing effectiveness. What's most impressive is that unlike other cleansers that left my face feeling tight, this one leaves my skin feeling hydrated after washing. While it didn't dramatically improve existing blemishes, I noticed it quickly calmed new breakouts caused by spicy foods or hormonal changes. I use this for my second cleanse after removing sunscreen, and it works great. I actually felt uncomfortable when I forgot it at my dorm and had to use something else at home. I'll definitely repurchase once I finish this tube! I didn't see significant results, but it does help soothe newly formed blemishes. Make sure to work up a rich lather when cleansing for best results. - ha********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedMar 8, 2025
✓ Highlights • Powerful cleansing: Effectively removes oil and impurities, leaving skin feeling refreshed after washing. Especially suitable for oily and blemish-prone skin. • Rich lather: The foam is abundant and creamy, allowing for gentle cleansing without friction. • Helps reduce blemishes: As it's designed for acne-prone skin, it leaves the complexion feeling more balanced after use. With consistent use, you can expect a reduction in excess sebum. • Low pH cleanser: Gentle enough for sensitive skin to use without issues. ✗ Areas for improvement • May be drying for dry skin types: It doesn't leave a moisturizing feel after rinsing, so those with dry skin should follow up with skincare immediately. • Slight squeaky clean feeling: It's not a hydrating type cleanser, but rather one that thoroughly removes oil, which may not be everyone's preference. • No instant acne improvement: While it can help with acne over time, don't expect dramatic changes immediately. Consistent use is key. 1. Massage for 30+ seconds to boost sebum control! • Instead of just rinsing, apply the foam to your face and gently massage for about 30 seconds to better clear sebum from pores. • Focus especially on the T-zone (nose, forehead) for a deep clean feeling! 2. Recommended for evening cleansing rather than morning • As it's quite effective at cleansing, it's best used at night to thoroughly remove the day's impurities. • Use a gentle or low pH cleanser in the morning, and save this Red Foam Cleanser for evening to maintain good skin condition. 3. Rinse with lukewarm water, finish with cool water to tighten pores • Warm water helps dissolve oils but can expand pores. • Finish with cool water to tighten pores and maintain skin elasticity. 4. Use with a cleansing brush or foam net to minimize irritation • Creating foam with a net or brush allows for gentler cleansing than using hands alone. • For sensitive skin, it's less irritating to cleanse gently with plenty of foam rather than rubbing with hands. 5. Hydrate immediately after cleansing! • Given its strong cleansing power, follow up right away with skincare (toner, essence) to prevent tightness. • Especially for dry skin, apply a moisturizing cream immediately after cleansing for best results. - jh********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedJan 30, 2025
It effectively cleanses the skin, but may leave it feeling dry. Make sure to follow up with a good moisturizer. The scent isn't particularly pleasant, just average. It doesn't do a great job of removing blemishes. I can't say there's anything particularly good about it. I bought it because I'm a Medicube member and it ended up in my cart while browsing. I don't have acne-prone skin, but due to stress in recent months, I've had a couple of blemishes that spread because I didn't take care of them. I guess I bought it when I noticed that. The irritation is severe... I do have somewhat sensitive skin, but after using just this, my skin feels extremely irritated. I'm not sure if it's because I started using retinol last week. I actually have two of these cleansers that I bought but don't use because of the irritation. Today, I suddenly decided to use it, and now my face is burning terribly. It's all red and inflamed... I also use a vibrating cleansing device, which might have made it even worse. - ty*******Oily SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 10, 2025
I often get acne, but after using this, my skin has improved a lot! The number of breakouts has definitely decreased. I think I'll keep using this for a long time. The product feels a bit slippery, so you need to rinse it off thoroughly with water, but it's not particularly inconvenient. - dm*******Normal SkinRecommendedJan 8, 2025
It gives a clean and effective cleansing sensation, with a slightly squeaky-clean feel Compared to other products, it seems to be on the pricier side - hi******Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedDec 23, 2024
As someone with combination dehydrated acne-prone skin for 20 years, this is the only foam cleanser I use. It helps reduce breakouts, minimizes deep dryness, and is gentle yet effective at cleansing. The price is a concern, and its ability to remove foundation is limited. Being formulated for acne-prone skin, it's understandably not as strong at removing makeup. - el********Combination SkinAcne SkinEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedNov 26, 2024
The morning after I first used it, I definitely noticed my skin felt softer. The scent is pleasant and the texture is just right. At first, my blemishes seemed to decrease a bit, but after that I didn't really see much of an effect.
