I'm so thrilled with this product that I almost regret not buying it sooner! I used to feel my makeup looked flat when I applied one shade all over my face. But now, by just applying it to my forehead and cheekbones, there's a noticeable difference. It really adds dimension to my face! I can't think of any downsides, to be honest. If you ever feel like your makeup is missing something, you absolutely need to try this! - yo*********Dehydrated SkinInner DrynessRecommendedMay 2, 2025
The color is absolutely gorgeous and it applies beautifully. It's perfect as a brightener for under the eyes and cheekbones. Although it's a brightener, it also provides coverage, making your skin look fantastic. It can be extremely drying if applied too thickly. You need to use just a small amount and apply it sparingly to specific areas. Dot it on precisely and blend with a wedge sponge to effectively conceal pores, uneven texture, and blemishes. - fo**********Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 22, 2025
The coverage is great and it's so moisturizing - perfect for my dry skin! The coverage is a bit lacking, which is disappointing. Still, it's pretty good overall. - gi********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedApr 17, 2025
Great as a highlighter. It's affordable and compact, making it convenient to use. The color is too bright for anything other than highlighting. The staying power is just so-so. - im*********Oily SkinSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresRednessDead Skin CellsRecommendedFeb 22, 2025
The product shown as #1 in the photo is The Saem Brightener. While it may not appear particularly bright in the image, when applied to the face, it's noticeably brighter. This is likely because it's part of a concealer line, giving it more coverage than expected. It creates a luminous effect on the skin that's more pronounced than its appearance suggests. There aren't many highlighters in Korea that can achieve this level of brightness without shimmer, so I'm giving it 5 stars in hopes it won't be discontinued. While I've given this 5 stars for being a unique brightener among Korean products, it does have some drawbacks. The thickness makes it challenging to use - it's not easy to control. I've tried applying it with a spatula and a sponge, but beginners might find it difficult to work with. Like other The Saem concealers, it's quite matte and thick. If you accidentally apply too much as a nose highlighter, you might need to redo your entire makeup. Also, if applied over a matte base, it can look patchy, emphasizing dead skin cells, texture, and pores. You need to be careful with primer application and apply it sparingly over a moisturized base for a smooth finish. This product requires both precise amount control and application skills to use effectively. For reference, compared to the Luna Brightener, The Saem's version is much brighter and thicker. While it does darken slightly over time, it still remains brighter than Luna's. - ik******Oily SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesRecommendedFeb 9, 2025
The slightly pinkish hue is perfect for those with cool undertones! Since it's not an overly thick formula, you can achieve a radiant complexion without heavy base makeup if you control the amount well. The color seems to fade rather quickly on the nose. While I wouldn't recommend it for brightening the nose tip, it works well for illuminating the cheeks. - vj********Combination SkinAcne SkinJan 28, 2025
It's great for plumping up sunken areas like nasolabial folds, under-eyes, and around the mouth! If you apply the right amount, it doesn't clump. I love that it's more hydrating than the pot type. Well... I had an important day where I needed to look good, so I accidentally over-applied it on my cheeks. That evening, when I removed my makeup, I noticed small bumps had appeared and my skin was much rougher than usual. After that, I decided not to use it anymore. I'd rather use a concealer with better ingredients. There are plenty of brightening moisturizers out there, so there's no need to risk blemishes with this one from The Saem. - km***Dehydrated SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsRecommendedJan 21, 2025
Long-lasting with a matte finish that provides a definite highlighting effect The small quantity means it gets used up quickly, which is a bit disappointing - qm********Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedJan 17, 2025
I bought this after watching a video of a makeup artist using The Saem Brightener at a makeup shop. I love how it instantly brightens up my face when applied to the center! As someone who enjoys a radiant skin look, I'm really satisfied. Even with a not-so-bright foundation, just a small amount makes a huge difference! It's a soft pink shade that's perfect. Works great as a highlighter too! Among all the concealer brands I've tried, The Saem products are my favorite. I'm becoming a true The Saem enthusiast! Applying it directly to your face might make it look cakey or dry! It might be better to mix it slightly with your foundation. Try mixing with foundation - 6z********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsDec 7, 2024
It really does an amazing job plumping up sunken areas! The coverage is great too! And while many reviews mentioned it being drying, I didn't find it particularly dehydrating for my skin! Controlling the amount that comes out is really challenging. I prefer a light makeup look, but using this alone makes my makeup appear quite heavy. It also tends to pill a bit. The adherence to the skin isn't great, and the staying power is somewhat lacking. Even though I tried to control the amount by wiping the tip on the opening, it didn't work well. I found it better to apply by gently patting it on instead!
