I've been using this soap for about 6 months, and it's been just as wonderful as the original ivory soap. No matter how much I think about it, I can't find any downsides. The only disappointment is that it's becoming harder to find places that sell it. - wr*****Dehydrated SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRednessRecommendedMay 23, 2024
Great for oily skin types! I even use it as a shampoo substitute and it leaves my skin feeling squeaky clean. The scent is quite strong - you can definitely smell the aloe when you enter the bathroom. While it leaves skin feeling clean, it can also feel a bit drying. Use it with a soap net! Not recommended for dry skin types. - ko******Combination SkinRecommendedAug 10, 2023
It smells lovely, and I feel like it helps prevent blemishes too! My skin feels a bit tight after using it, but other than that, I can't think of any downsides... - mi******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsInner DrynessWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedJun 22, 2022
I've never actually bought soap before, always relying on gift sets from holidays. But when COVID hit and I started hand-washing reusable masks, I found myself using soap much faster than usual. Concerned about using soaps with potentially harmful ingredients for mask-washing, I did some research. Soap information was hard to find, and the good ones were quite pricey. After much deliberation, I chose this one. Many reviews praised its ingredients as being quite good for a soap. Buying it from an online marketplace was affordable and convenient. Key benefits: - Pleasant fragrance - Good lather - Gentle on skin - Minimal drying effect (less tightness) - Generous size Some reviewers mentioned a cucumber scent, but while it's similar, it's not quite that. It's not your typical aloe scent either, but a pleasantly subtle fragrance. The scent spreads well but wasn't overwhelming for me. After washing, there's a very faint soap scent that eventually transitions to a clean, fresh smell. It's strong enough to act as an air freshener in small spaces like bathrooms. I'm curious to see how long the scent lasts, as most soaps lose their fragrance after about a week. I've only been using it for three days so far. It lathers well too! While not an extremely rich or dense foam, it creates a light, soft lather that forms as soon as it touches water. I previously used a lavender soap from another brand, but with increased handwashing due to COVID and household chores, my hands became very dry. I rarely use hand cream outside of winter, but I had to with that soap. This one doesn't exactly feel moisturizing, but it doesn't cause dryness or roughness. Those with very dry skin might still need hand cream, but it's much gentler overall. I love the large size. While round soaps are convenient, I personally prefer this chunkier style. While I'm not an expert on soap ingredients, if I don't experience any issues, I'll likely stick with this one. Minor drawbacks: - Seems to soften easily - Packaging could be improved The soap feels quite soft, possibly due to its light, foamy texture. After three days, it hasn't lost its shape yet, but I suspect it might start to get mushy as it gets smaller with use. Even now, it feels like it could crumble like clay if I applied pressure. It requires careful handling. There were many reviews about the packaging. While it's good for the environment to avoid double packaging, considering how easily this soap softens, the wrapping seems a bit inadequate. Some customers reported receiving squashed soaps due to shipping mishaps. While the minimal packaging is eco-friendly, the paper doesn't peel off neatly, which might frustrate those who are impatient or particular about such things. I don't have much in the way of tips, but given how easily this soap softens, a sponge-like soap dish that drains well might be better than a hard plastic one. - tj*********Normal SkinSensitive SkinAtopic SkinOct 23, 2021
For a soap, the ingredients are quite decent and it has excellent cleansing effectiveness As someone who washes their hands frequently, I find it very drying after use. It feels like all the moisture evaporates, and my skin even turns red afterwards, possibly due to irritation - wj*********Dehydrated SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 12, 2020
The scent is lovely. It's great for handwashing. Even though I only use it for washing hands, it's not particularly drying, and the price is affordable, making it perfect for everyday use. I initially bought it for the fragrance, but the ingredients are quite gentle too. Some reviews mention using it as a body wash substitute. I might try that as well. The ivory version is a bit softer but produces rich lather, so while it might work as a body wash without much issue, it could be slightly drying, though I expect it to cleanse effectively. Since people say it's good as an exfoliating soap, I'll have to give that a try. It's too soft. You know how it's famous for floating on water? Maybe because of the air bubbles, it gets really soft quickly. Even if you keep it outside and use a well-draining soap dish, it still softens up. By the end, it feels like it's almost mushy. It reminds me a bit of some foreign soaps. Like Dove, it seems foreign brands make their soaps quick to soften and lather up generously, probably because they're formulated for dry climates. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinRecommendedJul 20, 2020
The price was reasonable and I loved how gentle it was on my skin. I keep buying this product exclusively. The scent seems a bit milder compared to other soaps. I'm not quite sure about the ingredients. - oo****Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJan 15, 2020
1. The fragrance is more pleasant than the original version. 2. It's affordable and gentle on the skin. 1. It breaks down easily when wet. 2. Unless you buy the larger size, it's not very cost-effective. - Hwahae UserNormal SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 12, 2019
My skin inflammation improved significantly after using this soap. The soap can be a bit drying, so make sure to apply emulsion generously afterwards. - dk*********Oily SkinRecommendedFeb 19, 2019
Great cleansing effectiveness and a lovely scent. It gives you that thoroughly cleansed feeling, and you feel refreshed after washing. If used alone, it can be a bit drying and cause some deep dryness. It's also disappointing that it wears down quickly when left in a humid place. It's perfect for morning cleansing routines.
