When applied, it comes out as a white formula, but since it doesn't absorb quickly, I recommend using it only at home.
ConsIt's disappointing that it absorbs slowly. There are no other drawbacks.
TipIf you apply it generously before bed, the dead skin cells on your lips naturally disappear overnight.

When you apply it to dry lips, they become moisturized quickly. I liked that it provides good hydration even with a small amount, and the moisturizing effect lasts for a long time. It's also quite effective at softening dead skin cells. If you apply a thick layer while drying your hair in the morning and then wipe it off, it removes the dead skin cells cleanly. - It seems to contain a bit of menthol as it creates a cooling sensation on the lips. I personally like lip balms with menthol, so I enjoyed this. I think the cooling effect is slightly stronger than the Blistex jar type! - The tube packaging makes it hygienic and easy to use.
Cons- The absorption... Since it's a product with SPF, it's probably meant for daytime use, but the absorption isn't great, which made it disappointing to carry around and use outside. The texture is more cream-like than balm-like, and it's white, so if you apply too much or it doesn't absorb well, the white cream can sit on top of your lips, making them look pale. Moreover, as mentioned in the pros, it's good at softening dead skin cells, so if you apply a bit too much, you end up with a messy combination of white cream and dead skin cells on your lips. This makes it quite inconvenient for use outside.

Its advantages? Well, it's small, that's for sure. The packaging is pretty, and it has a nice cooling effect when applied. But... that's about it. I'm afraid I can't really recommend it.
ConsThis is more like an ointment. When you apply it, it doesn't absorb well and just sits on top of your lips like a white paste. No matter how much you rub or blend, it stays there like a layer of white ointment floating on your lips. This isn't the kind of lip balm you'd want to use when you're out and about. It's more suited for applying before bed.

It's just the right amount of moisturizing. Compared to the solid Blistex, this one feels like it keeps your lips hydrated for longer. - Sun Protection I only realized the importance of sun protection for lips after I developed a spot on mine... There aren't many lip balms with UV protection out there, but I'm already on my nth tube of Blistex!
Cons- Irritation While the solid Blistex caused slight irritation (very minimal), this one is a bit more intense for me. - Amount Control is Essential When I first applied it carelessly, I was shocked to see my lips turn white. Also, it absorbs rather slowly, so you need to apply a thin layer. (This doesn't matter if you're applying it before bed.)

Applying a thick layer is perfect for nighttime care! It's also great for managing dead skin cells around the lip line during seasonal changes. As winter approaches and my skin gets drier, this has become a must-have in my bag - I carry it everywhere!
ConsIf you don't like the cooling sensation, this might not be for you. Also, since it's a cream formula, it takes some time to absorb completely.
TipFor quicker absorption, apply your lip balm and skincare first, then gently pat this product onto your skin.

Well, it's just okay... On second thought, I'm upgrading my rating from 2 stars to 5 stars as of April 13, 2024! Reasons I recommend this product: 1. When your lips are so parched that even applying a rich lip balm doesn't seem to revive them... 2. When your lips are smooth without any dead skin cells, but still feel desperately dry It's absolutely... wonderful!
ConsThe scent is really unpleasant, it has an off-putting smell I'm not sure if we really need SPF in a lip balm... It forms a film-like layer, which slows down absorption... P.S. You can solve the slow absorption issue by adjusting the amount you use! Just apply a rice grain-sized amount and you'll be good to go.

I usually have a lot of dead skin cells and extremely dry lips, so I'm always wearing lip balm. With this product, I apply a thick layer before bed, and when I wake up the next morning, my lips are incredibly hydrated!
ConsIt takes quite a while to absorb, which makes it difficult to use during the day. The rich feeling lasts for quite some time.

As it absorbs, the menthol feeling becomes subtler. Once fully absorbed, it leaves your lips feeling as smooth as if you've applied lipstick. If you leave it on for a few hours, it can even help remove dead skin cells. It seems like a product worth trying. In terms of lip balm effectiveness, it's pretty decent. Lastly, its small size makes it incredibly convenient to carry around.
ConsDue to its cream-like balm texture, it leaves a transparent white appearance when applied to the lips. Depending on how much you apply, it can take 20 minutes or more to fully absorb. Personally, I enjoy products with strong menthol, so it would be nice if the intense sensation lasted longer!

The cream texture doesn't feel slippery, and it applies with a nice moisturizing feel. But the best part about this lip balm is its ⭐️dead skin cell removal⭐️ ability! Since I started using this lip balm, I've seen significant improvements in exfoliation. (It's great at softening dead skin cells!)
ConsIt was harder to control the amount than I expected, and because it's a cream formula, it takes a while to absorb. Even if you apply just a little, it can sit on top of the skin, making your lips look whitish. When you apply too much, it can sometimes create a 'yogurt-like' appearance. ⭐️It's not really suitable for applying when you're heading out :( While I felt the hydration was better than stick or balm-type lip products, it seemed about the same as other tube-type lip balms. The scent is like a mentholated ointment, which might be hit or miss for some people. (Personally, I didn't really like the smell...)
TipApply a generous amount at night (⭐️recommended: before bed⭐️), and the next morning when you're washing your face, gently rub your lips with water, and the dead skin cells will just fall right off. If you do this for just a week, your lips will become smooth and have noticeably less dead skin. It's truly the best for dead skin cell removal!

As someone whose lips crack and split year-round, I've tried every lip balm out there. Those of you with a habit of picking at your lip's dead skin cells will surely relate. In my case, whether it's summer or winter, my lips get dry, I pick at the dead skin, they bleed, more dead skin forms, and I pick again... an endless cycle. This summer, I stumbled upon this product at Olive Young and decided to give it a shot. Amazingly, after applying it before bed that very night, my dead skin cells had calmed down by the next morning. It feels like spreading Mentholatum on your lips, which made me worry it might make things worse. However, it seems fine as long as you don't have open wounds on your lips. Anyway! To sum up why I recommend this: ✔️ Effectively calms lip's dead skin cells ✔️ Tube packaging (which I personally prefer) ✔️ Surprisingly smooth application (emulsion-like feel) I recommend this to those who don't mind the sensation of applying Mentholatum.
ConsDrawbacks: ✔️ Slightly inconvenient for use when going out (It's an emulsion formula and takes longer to absorb compared to other lip balms, so I recommend applying a generous amount before bed) ✔️ Avoid if you already have wounds on your lips (Remember, it's like Mentholatum...)
TipTip: Apply a generous amount to your lips before going to bed! It's an emulsion type, so it looks white when first applied to your lips, but it absorbs as you rub it in. Personally, I just quickly swipe it on before bed... because I'm lazy. Even so, it still works wonders for lip care.
