Thanks to the cooling effect and cica ingredients, I feel like the red, inflamed blemishes have been soothed by about 30% based on my perception. I was worried it might be difficult to remove as it hardens without much moisture, but it can be easily removed by gently rubbing with water. 10 to 15 minutes seems to be the right amount of time, and you can remove it slowly by massaging with water.
Cons1. The formula hardens quickly, making it feel dry when applying. 2. Like other reviews mentioned, the leaf particles are bothersome... I'm worried they might clog the sink. It would be better if they were finely ground. 3. There's a slight tingling sensation on freshly irritated areas (no tingling elsewhere). 4. Doesn't feel like it's particularly effective at clearing sebum or dead skin cells. 5. It hardens too quickly, so you need to spread it fast. 6. Considering the hassle and effort, the calming effect is questionable... You might be better off using a cica cream that works for you.
TipMix in a drop or two of toner when applying.

As someone who loves green scents, I adore the fragrance of mugwort, centella, and green tea. Why do I find this scent so appealing? *sniff sniff* Seeing the actual centella leaves gives it an authentic feel. I'm on a mission to try every soothing cica and centella product at Olive Young!
ConsExperienced a slight tingling sensation. Maybe because I applied it right after cleansing? It's a bit challenging to rinse off, but that seems to be a common issue with all clay masks.

I have combination skin. Since it's summer, I felt my sebum production increased, so I decided to give it a try. What's great is that it claims to have three effects: exfoliation, pore cleansing, and soothing. While I didn't notice dramatic results, it's a decent, gentle product! The convenience factor is a big plus. You can apply it to dry skin, wait 5 minutes for it to dry, then rinse off. It's even easier than sheet masks, so I use it often! However, you need to be thorough when washing it off, so I follow up with an exfoliating toner. Though rinsing takes a bit more effort, it's still quicker and more convenient than sheet masks.
ConsThe granules can feel a bit harsh when washing off. Even though I rinsed with plenty of water and gently rolled it off, I still felt some irritation. I'm not sure about its effectiveness. It didn't seem to absorb excess sebum, and despite containing cica ingredients, I didn't notice any soothing effects. It feels nice when applying, but I'm not sure it's worth the price. Also, the sponge that came with it is extremely rough and harsh. Even when fully soaked with water, it's still too abrasive. Definitely not recommended for sensitive or acne-prone skin!
TipMake sure to rinse your face thoroughly with warm water before gently rolling the product off!

I haven't felt my skin like this since before I had acne. Though I can't tell if it's due to this, the Round Lab pack, or the Centella powder. I started using them all around the same time!
ConsI'm not sure if it's helping with blemishes. Also, when I used it, the leaves seemed to cause some irritation! It was even a bit tingling...
TipWow... I followed the pro tip to mix it with my cleansing foam, and it definitely feels like it's improving the cleansing effectiveness!

This is my review after being selected as one of The Hwahae Testers. My skin type: Combination skin with redness, small blemishes, uneven texture, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation (oh my!). Irritation: No irritation when applying or washing off. Scent: It has a somewhat spicy herbal scent. Dryness/Tightness: After cleansing, there's no dryness or tightness, though occasionally my face might feel a bit tight.
ConsBlemishes: Despite claims of having a soothing effect, I got three new blemishes on my forehead, which usually doesn't break out! Calming Effect: There's no calming effect at all. Sensitivity: When my skin is sensitive, applying this mask not only fails to soothe but actually stings. Dead Skin Cells: There's no exfoliating effect... my skin looks exactly the same. Application: I'm not a fan. I prefer a smoother application, but this one is quite thick and takes effort to spread. Particles: The particles aren't round capsules, but more like centella leaf bits. They don't wash off easily during cleansing. Rinsing: When washing my face, mask residue splashes everywhere. Mask Tightening: As the mask dries, it tightens so much that it feels like it's cutting off blood circulation to my face. Cons/Pros: Unfortunately, this product has more drawbacks than benefits.

Oh my! As soon as I started using it, I was like 'Whoa!' It was so different from what I expected, haha! I've only ever used the Shrek mask and peony mask before, and since this was a mud mask, I thought it would be like the Shrek one. 👍 Texture Oh, what's this? It's thinner than I thought! When I first squeezed it out, it felt similar to the Shrek mask. But when I started rubbing it in, it had this unfamiliar thin consistency. I often describe products as having a thin gel-like texture in reviews, and this one definitely fits that description! I was surprised by how different it was from what I expected. 👍 Application (Top-notch) The texture surprised me at first, but the application really blew me away! Why is it so easy to apply? It glides on so smoothly, it's really great. (Never experienced a mask like this before) 👍 Tube packaging I loved how convenient it was. With jar packaging, you have to scoop it out, which can get under your nails, but this was super easy to use. (This is a bit off-topic, but when you first use it, you have to remove the sticker. I've been growing my nails lately, and I couldn't get a grip on it. Is it always this hard with long nails? It was a bit frustrating...) 🤔 Scent Ah, I've definitely smelled this scent before... Is it herbal? Grassy? Lavender...? After sniffing it for a while... 🤔 I've come to a conclusion. It smells like lavender. 👍 Skin blemishes My skin usually turns red and gets sensitive when I use products that don't suit me, but thankfully, that didn't happen with this one! I used it with a mix of excitement, curiosity, and worry, but apart from the slight irritation, I was extremely satisfied! And I'm not sure if it's just my imagination, but after rinsing it off, my face felt really refreshed, and when I looked in the mirror, my skin seemed smoother and brighter! Even if it's just a placebo effect, I still like it. If you ask me whether I'd spend my own money on it, I'm not sure yet. (I don't usually use masks often, so... This was a great opportunity to try a mask I wouldn't have otherwise. I love events like this!) I'll add more after I've used up the whole tube! 🤟
ConsEverything was good, but here's why I deducted some points... 👊 Irr!!!!i!!!!!tation!!!!! There was almost no irritation when applying it, but a few minutes after application, as it started to dry slightly, I felt a bit of a sting. It might just be my imagination, though. But more than that, the instructions say to massage it off with circular motions when rinsing, and when I did that, it was a bit irritating. If you have sensitive skin like me, don't massage or rub it! 😭 Just rinse it off gently with water, and if there's any residue, remove it very carefully! When washing it off, I felt some irritation no matter how gentle I was, maybe because of the Centella leaves? Fortunately, my skin didn't turn red or anything after rinsing (which is a relief), but it was definitely irritating by my standards. 🤔 Effectiveness...? The instructions also say to mix it 1:1 with your cleansing foam, but I didn't really notice any improvement in cleansing power or feel particularly refreshed. I wasn't expecting any major effects in terms of soothing or sebum control anyway, so I didn't mind. At least it felt like I gave my skin some kind of emergency treatment, so I'm satisfied with that.
TipDue to the irritation, I recommend using it only 1-2 times a week. Rinse it off when you feel your skin starting to dry. -> This is because if you apply it thickly, it won't dry even after a long time and stays moist. I usually wash it off after about 10 minutes or more. ‼️‼️ Update) I used to think you should wait until these kinds of masks completely dry before washing them off, but I'm correcting that! Waiting more than 10 minutes until it's completely dry makes it harder to wash off! And at the same time, it seems more irritating when rinsing. I think about 5-6 minutes is just right!

First, my skin type: dry skin, prone to dead skin cells Positive Points: 1. It applies beautifully. After only using peel-off masks, this mud mask is surprisingly easy to apply smoothly, even with just your hands. 2. It dries quickly. You don't need to wait long - it sets completely in about 5-10 minutes. 3. When I use the mud mask the night before, my makeup applies better the next day. Even with a lighter base than usual, my foundation lasted longer. 4. Skin soothing. I have a habit of squeezing blackheads on my nose (it's so satisfying to see the sebum come out!). After doing this, applying the mud mask calms down the redness completely.
Cons1. It's suggested to mix it 1:1 with foam cleanser for cleansing, but I didn't notice much difference. It's supposed to be a deep cleanse, but the cleansing power seems the same, with the leaves in the mud mask acting as a mild scrub (though I'm not sure if that was the intention). It does lather well though. 2. While it didn't cause any blemishes, I felt a slight itching or tingling sensation on my chin as it dried. 3. It's a bit hard to wash off. I'm not sure if this is common for all mud masks, but rather than the mud, it's the small leaves that stick to your face. Even after rinsing several times, I'd still find 1-2 pieces on my cotton pad when applying toner.

Personally, my criteria for choosing a mud mask are as follows: 1. Mud concentration (the higher, the better) 2. Squeeze-tube type (doesn't dry out over time) 3. Safety of ingredients 4. Drying speed 5. Application ease As someone who uses a mud mask at least once a week, I find Steady's mud mask dries incredibly fast compared to others (completely dry within 10 minutes). It's great for busy days, and similar to Lush's Shrek mask, it contains centella asiatica particles for exfoliation (caution for sensitive skin). The scent is a subtle herbal aroma, which wasn't off-putting. It spreads easily - a coin-sized amount covers the whole face. I'd be lying if I said the mask's effects were amazing! Like other mud masks, it offers some temporary pore-tightening (which reverts over time) and a cooling effect (due to the alcohol) right after cleansing. It's good for when you want to refresh your skin. Once or twice a week seems appropriate.
ConsSensitive skin types may experience some irritation. The alcohol and particles could cause a tingling sensation.
