My acid-based foam cleanser alone wasn't quite enough, but mixing this in is perfect. I use it daily or every other day. It's lightweight and gently removes dead skin cells and evens skin tone without being harsh.
ConsAs someone with sensitive skin and a collagen allergy, using it as a full-face mask caused a burning sensation, itching, and hives, making it feel quite irritating. (The centella leaf particles felt a bit large and rough, which seemed to increase the irritation when rolling it on...)
TipIt works great when mixed with my foam cleanser during washing, and it's also good for short mask treatments and gentle rolling just on areas with excess oil and large pores.

I use it as an emergency fix when my skin's extra oily, and it leaves my skin feeling clean. To be honest, I'm not sure about its soothing effects, but it does temporarily reduce redness.
ConsIt's incredibly difficult to wash off. Seriously, this mask is on another level of hard to remove. I guess it's because it adheres so well to the skin.
TipHere's a pro tip: if you have time before showering, massage your face with a steamed towel. Then apply the mask, wait 5 minutes, and wash it off in the shower. Works like a charm and comes off easily.

I heard it's okay to mix it with a low pH foam cleanser, so I tried it and it worked well!
ConsI'm not sure if it's because of the particles, but sometimes when I used it to calm my skin, it felt a bit itchy and I even got some blemishes in certain areas

Prone to itching and inflamed breakouts when oil and moisture balance is disrupted. Currently dealing with countless blemishes on the neck that aren't responding to usual treatments. Usage Method: Used for 4 days. Once mixed with cleanser, the rest as a mask after evening cleanse. Two times as a simple mask, once with massage. Soothing Effect: The neck blemishes have significantly calmed down, proving the centella's effectiveness in soothing blemishes. No new breakouts appeared during use, leaving mostly just marks. Seems to suit my skin well. Texture Improvement: Despite initial doubts about exfoliation due to the thin and delicate centella leaves, skin felt surprisingly smooth post-cleanse. It provided gentle exfoliation without irritation. Suitable for Daily Use: Despite high centella content and being a mud mask with leaves, it didn't cause irritation. Suitable for daily use, contrary to concerns about over-nourishing or potential irritation from drying and rinsing.
ConsNot Recommended with Cleanser: Mixing with a low pH cleanser seemed to reduce cleansing effectiveness. Skin felt slightly itchy after use, possibly due to inadequate removal of mineral sunscreen. Only tried this method once. Moderate Sebum Absorption: As a mud formula, it's supposed to remove excess sebum, but the effect isn't dramatic. Not particularly effective on blackheads. For my boyfriend with oily skin, sebum became visible after cleansing. Gentle cotton swab pressure or slight extraction might be needed for removal.
TipTips for Blemish-Prone Skin: If you have carrot oil, try mixing Sikaleaf with a drop of it (adjust to your skin's needs) and aloe gel or hydrating gel (for easier massage). Massage this mixture on blemish-prone areas for enhanced soothing effects. Blackhead Removal: For better blackhead removal, use this product after using an oil-based blackhead remover!

Before diving into the product review, I decided to use it the morning after sleeping with makeup on, as removing makeup right before use might not accurately show its effectiveness in soothing redness. Please keep this in mind as you read! As you can see in the photos, my skin is sensitive combination type, easily affected by not removing makeup, stress, and diet! I have mild dermatitis, so when I'm really stressed, my nose bridge and cheeks get super itchy, and I occasionally use medication. I tried this Steady product with mixed feelings - hopeful about its redness-soothing claims, but worried about two potentially irritating ingredients for sensitive skin. The product has a mud-like texture. Concerned about using too much at once and potential tightness, I applied it in small amounts as shown in the second photo. Interestingly, invisible centella particles appeared as I spread it. When it dried, it felt similar to clay drying on my face. The scent was mild, unlikely to trigger sensitivities or allergies. The fourth photo shows the remaining centella after drying for 5-6 minutes and rinsing with lukewarm water. I was surprised by how much centella stayed on, especially around my nose where I applied more generously due to usual post-cleansing itchiness. Amazingly, there was no itchiness after rinsing! You might not notice a difference between the first and last photos, but I could see the redness had noticeably reduced. While active blemishes weren't immediately calmed, they improved over time. I particularly liked that my skin didn't feel squeaky clean after rinsing, which I usually dislike, but instead felt smooth. Plus, touching my face didn't aggravate my dermatitis, which was great!
ConsWhile there were no issues for about 10 minutes after use, I noticed some itchiness around my eyebrows and jawline after about 30 minutes. If you have similar skin to mine and plan to use this after sleeping with makeup on, I'd advise against it. It's best to remove makeup right after going out and use the mask after cleansing. Be careful when rinsing if you're wearing white clothes, as the green color might stain if you splash too much. I'm a vigorous face-washer and almost had a disaster when I noticed green residue spread all over my sink!
TipHere's a little tip: using a plastic applicator like the stick in the third photo helps spread the product with less mess on your hands. It's harder to wash off the centella particles when they get on your fingers. Also, I use a combination of Lamosoo Cleansing Oil from Idus and Haeseorin One-Kill Pad for cleansing, which works well with this mask. Hope this helps!

First, my skin type: dry skin, prone to dead skin cells Positive Points: 1. It applies beautifully. After only using peel-off masks, this mud mask is surprisingly easy to apply smoothly, even with just your hands. 2. It dries quickly. You don't need to wait long - it sets completely in about 5-10 minutes. 3. When I use the mud mask the night before, my makeup applies better the next day. Even with a lighter base than usual, my foundation lasted longer. 4. Skin soothing. I have a habit of squeezing blackheads on my nose (it's so satisfying to see the sebum come out!). After doing this, applying the mud mask calms down the redness completely.
Cons1. It's suggested to mix it 1:1 with foam cleanser for cleansing, but I didn't notice much difference. It's supposed to be a deep cleanse, but the cleansing power seems the same, with the leaves in the mud mask acting as a mild scrub (though I'm not sure if that was the intention). It does lather well though. 2. While it didn't cause any blemishes, I felt a slight itching or tingling sensation on my chin as it dried. 3. It's a bit hard to wash off. I'm not sure if this is common for all mud masks, but rather than the mud, it's the small leaves that stick to your face. Even after rinsing several times, I'd still find 1-2 pieces on my cotton pad when applying toner.

This stuff really brightens your skin! It's amazing how you can see your complexion improve right after washing it off. My skin is super sensitive, making it hard to find suitable ampoules, and being combination dehydrated, hardly any moisturizers work for me. But this clay mask? I used it on a day when my skin was acting up, and it actually had a soothing effect. I didn't feel like it triggered any blemishes either.
ConsYou can see tiny green flakes in the mask, which stick to your face as it dries, making it a bit of a struggle to wash off. It's really, really hard to remove, so you end up rubbing your skin raw, which can make it even more sensitive (ironic for a soothing mask, right?). When I first used it, my sensitive skin felt a bit itchy, like I'd applied some harsh chemical. But once you figure out how to use it properly, there's no better clay mask out there!
TipHere's the method I've perfected: First, apply it to your face (try putting the green flakes on blemish-prone areas - it feels like it works better there). Don't leave it on for more than 5-7 minutes. Any longer and it gets too dry, making it harder to wash off and forcing you to scrub, which feels like you're exfoliating your face with those green bits. Ouch! Make sure to use lukewarm water and rinse gently to minimize irritation. Follow these steps, and you'll definitely see this product's true potential. I started with a sample, which lasted ages, and now I'm off to buy the full-size version! If this product didn't work for you before, give this method a try!

I was lucky enough to be selected as one of The Hwahae Testers and got to try this product. Here's my experience: Firstly, I was impressed by the simple yet attractive packaging and container. However, I was a bit concerned about whether the ingredients would suit my super sensitive skin, despite their quality. I used this product twice a week before bed, after cleansing and toning. Overall, I found it quite satisfactory, and here's why: 1. It absorbs well. The texture is just right - not too thick, easy to spread, and feels moisturizing and smooth on application. 2. The scent is pleasant and not overwhelming. As someone sensitive to fragrances, I appreciate that it has a neutral aroma that most people would find agreeable. 3. It's easy to wash off. Unlike some similar products I've used before that left residue, this mask rinses off cleanly. This was probably my favorite aspect. 4. While I didn't notice any dramatic soothing effects as claimed, my skin didn't react negatively and even felt softer afterward. For someone with super sensitive skin like me, not having any adverse reactions is already a win!
ConsHowever, frequent use might not be suitable for my sensitive skin. While I didn't experience any itching or redness in the first week, when I used it again after two weeks, my cheeks became red and itchy. Thankfully, it subsided quickly. Although it rinses off well, being a clay mask, it inevitably leaves some residue in the sink. This isn't a major drawback, just something to be aware of given the nature of the product. The container's opening can get messy quickly after use. You'll need to wipe it clean each time to maintain hygiene.
TipFor those with very sensitive skin like mine, I'd recommend using this mask no more than twice a week. Even with good ingredients, overuse can lead to irritation, so moderation is key. Despite the slight irritation I experienced, I think this product would be suitable for most skin types. That's why I still recommend it. I've deducted one star due to the sensitivity issue, but overall, it's a good product.

The absorption was quite good too! The mask seemed to dry relatively quickly.
ConsThere were leaf-like particles in it, making it a bit challenging to rinse off. It also made quite a mess around me. I applied it up to my philtrum, but it started drying and tightening my face around the 7-minute mark, even though it's meant to be left on for 10 minutes. So I ended up keeping it on for about 7 minutes.
TipI recommend using it in the shower for easier removal and less mess. Although the instructions say to use it for 5-10 minutes, 7 minutes seems to be the sweet spot.

Once as a face pack, twice as a cleanser that I washed off immediately, and once on my body. My skin was red and irritated from a recent trip, with lots of tiny blemishes on my forehead and chin, and a few on my cheeks. Here's my experience: Application: It glides on so smoothly, it's a pleasure to use. There's even a slight cooling sensation. Drying time: I couldn't keep it on for the full 10 minutes. It gets quite dry, especially around the nose and upper lip area. I'd recommend 5-8 minutes. In my case, while my cheeks weren't fully dry, I had to remove it because the area around my mouth was too dry. Skin texture: After removing, my skin feels incredibly soft and supple. The redness has significantly reduced too. Blemishes: While it didn't completely eliminate my tiny blemishes, there was a noticeable improvement. Centella Asiatica leaves: There are plenty in the mask, but surprisingly, they don't feel rough. You can gently roll them on your skin during application.
ConsIt does take some time to wash off once it's dried, similar to a mud pack. But I think that's unavoidable with this type of product. I have severe eczema on my body, and I noticed some itching after using it there. Due to the intense itching, I'd advise against using it on areas with eczema.
