Thin application with minimal transfer It applies thinly and feels slightly cooling right after application. A small amount spreads well, but the coverage is not great, so I recommend using a spot concealer. After wearing a mask for 2 hours, there was some transfer on the nose and cheekbone area, but not a significant amount. ----------------------- Additional notes on 11/28 at 4:26 PM (with photos added) The photos are from when I had been wearing the mask outside for a while and then took it off. I tend to wear the mask quite tightly. As a result, I could see a little bit of transfer on the nose area, lip area (where the mask seals), and cheekbone area. However, compared to other cushions, this one really doesn't transfer much. When I took off the mask, there were some marks left, but as time passed, it faded away naturally... and it seemed to break down a bit oily-ly, though I'm not sure if that's just my skin type. 2. No irritation I've been wanting to wear makeup, but most foundations end up causing breakouts. I had to stop using my previous ㅎㄹ Black Cushion, so I carefully reviewed the ingredients and decided to try this one. After wearing it for 6 hours and removing it, my skin had no irritation at all. (If there's an issue, my skin usually gets completely messed up even after just a few hours of wearing makeup and removing it.) That's the best part for me.
Cons1. Caution with over-application to avoid cakiness I usually use shade 21, but this cushion makes me look very pale. If you apply too much in an attempt to cover, there's a high chance of the makeup looking cakey and unnatural, so be careful. Don't be too heavy-handed - apply thinly and build up coverage gradually. 2. Disappointing coverage I have stubborn hereditary freckles and blemishes, and this cushion doesn't cover them well. If you want good coverage, using a concealer is a must. 3. Accentuates dryness and breaks down over time... (Updated on 11/28) -> If you have an excellent moisturizing base, the accentuation of dryness is less, and it breaks down with a slight oiliness. Since this is on the matte side, even though it doesn't transfer much, it's inevitable that it will break down when wearing a mask all day. But it doesn't break down in a particularly flattering way. I haven't done any touch-ups today, but I'll try that and add more feedback. ------------- Additional notes on 11/28: With touch-ups, it applies well without any significant issues. However, since this is quite pale, layering it can make the tone look much brighter, so be gentle and apply it lightly.
TipUsing a concealer first to cover problem areas, then applying the cushion on top, seems like a good approach given the relatively sheer coverage. It's best to apply it in thin, layered applications to avoid cakiness. I'd also recommend having a well-moisturized skincare routine as the base, especially if you have dry skin like me.

It is moisturizing when I apply it at first. There is no tightness or dryness on my face even after some time.
ConsIt doesn't cover blemishes well. It transfers onto the mask. After about 3 hours, it starts to break down.
TipSince it doesn't provide good coverage, I used a cushion foundation that covers well first, and then applied this on top as a finishing touch.

After applying makeup, I used to be very stressed about it transferring onto my mask. But I won the Hwahae Trial Reviewer event and got to try the Nature Republic cushion for the first time. The exterior is a clean white and it's larger than other cushions, almost covering my entire palm, but it's thin enough that it's not too bulky to fit in a pouch. The puff is also bigger, but personally I prefer smaller puffs. If you look closely, the puff has very tiny perforations, and I think that's why the coverage applies so evenly when I first put it on my face. At first, it sets to a matte finish and really fills in my pores, and the coverage isn't bad either, so I think it's a good value cushion!
ConsThe application is a bit thick, and it's inevitable that it transfers onto the mask... Even after putting on and taking off the mask a few times, it still transfers, though less than other cushions. The problem is that as time goes on, it starts to cling to my pores and emphasize my wrinkles, so my makeup ends up looking worn. I'm not sure if it's because I have dry skin, but the breakdown was really disappointing for me personally.

The puff is great: Even if the cushion formula is good, if the puff is not good, it's hard to apply. But this cushion has an amazing puff - it feels similar to the famous Hera Black Cushion puff. It contains cica ingredients, so it would be good for those with sensitive or troubled skin. The scent is nice: It has a faint chrysanthemum flower fragrance. It finishes with a semi-matte look, so I'd recommend it for oily skin types. The longevity is good: I don't usually expect much cushion longevity, but this one stays on the face well and doesn't break down easily.
ConsThe color is too pale: My skin tone is 22, so 21 would have been bright enough to cover, but this is too light and not pretty. At least someone around 19 would need to use this. It also has a strong white cast, like a mix of a white sunscreen and foundation. The skin expression is not pretty: Even after doing a hydrating skincare routine, the pores and texture are very emphasized. And the overall finish doesn't look nice. Those with dry skin should avoid it. I have combination skin, but it felt quite drying on me. The coverage is low: It doesn't cover spots and blemishes. Not recommended for those wanting high coverage.
TipA lot of product comes out with just one press. After pressing it once, dab it on your forehead, cheeks, and spread it out.

It's a slightly brighter ivory color than #21. At first, I was worried it would float on my skin since it was much brighter than my skin tone, but once it was set, it blended in naturally with my face and looked great. The skin expression turned out nicely. I was concerned it would dry out my dry skin, but when I finished my skincare routine with a moisturizing base, my skin didn't feel tight at all. I think I'll be able to use it well even in the winter. The coverage is about average. It feels like it's just adding color over blemishes. But it covers the redness around my nose well and fills in my pores nicely, so I'm satisfied. Since the ingredients are good, I've never had any breakouts after using it.
ConsThey said the mask transfer was minimal, but I'm not sure. Even after powder application, it came off more than I expected. But aside from the scratched part of my nose, it broke down naturally and still looked nice.

Since my skin is dry, using a slightly matte cushion can make my skin look patchy, but that wasn't an issue with this one. - The redesigned packaging is so much better! The previous design was a bit outdated, but now it has a clean, modern look. - Lastly, minimal mask transfer!!! Much less than other cushions! I like to apply cushion foundation in a way that gives a dewy, hydrated look on my dry skin, but that often leads to excessive mask transfer and occasional breakouts. But this cushion definitely has less mask transfer!
Cons- Coverage is a bit lacking/Longevity is average It's fine for me as I prefer a light skin finish, but it doesn't provide heavy coverage. It's not recommended for those who prioritize full coverage. The longevity is similar to regular cushions. However, it can get a bit cakey around the nose pores as it breaks down, which is a bit disappointing, but the overall longevity is decent.
TipSince the coverage is on the lighter side, using a concealer together would be a good idea 😆

Even though they say it transfers less, the whole mask usually ends up getting dirty anyway, but this product really does transfer less! It doesn't transfer completely, but it's still better that it transfers less.(However, this can also vary depending on the skin condition that day. If there's a lot of moisture inside or if you sweat a bit, it will transfer a lot like other foundations. That's to be expected, though..haha) The photo is of the mask I wore all day, from 8am to 6pm. If I feel like I've sweated a bit, it transfers about 3 times as much as the photo. It seems to transfer the most around the nose and cheeks, since those areas get used the most. The application is not bad. It applies smoothly and sets to a semi-matte finish. The color is slightly brighter than #21. It gives a brightening, 'tone-up' kind of effect when applied. It's not bad to just dab on for touch-ups either.
ConsThe coverage and pore coverage are completely inadequate ㅠㅠ Especially the pores! The nose area is disappointing...it has 'cover' in the name, but it doesn't cover blemishes, redness, or dark circles at all. You need a concealer. And when it breaks down, it gets a bit messy. It clings to pores and a bit of flakiness comes up. The oil control doesn't last very long.
TipIf you use powder, it transfers even less! And try applying it with a spatula...it transfers even less. Highly recommended.

My skin is quite sensitive, so I'm very particular about the ingredients in my skincare products. That's why I first checked the ingredient list for this product. After looking up the ingredients on Hwahae, I found that the formulation is suitable for my sensitive skin. In fact, after wearing it for about 10 hours, my skin didn't feel irritated or itchy at all. One of the great things about this product is that it doesn't transfer much onto the mask. Unlike other products, there was only a little bit of transfer on the areas of the mask that were in close contact with my skin.
ConsSince my skin is oily, the cushion adhered well to my skin. However, it did get a bit shiny when my skin started producing oil. Still, it managed to keep my skin looking radiant, and there wasn't much breakdown of the product. That said, it doesn't have enough coverage to completely conceal blemishes. It just helps to lighten the appearance of acne.
TipTMI, but people around me commented that my face looked bright and glowing after using this cushion. I'm so satisfied that I've found a cushion that works well for me, and I'm planning to repurchase it once I finish this one. The photos below show the difference in mask transfer before and after applying the cushion.

If you have oily skin or good skin texture, you can achieve a fluffy, powdery base with this product. I usually get small pimples when I put on makeup, but this product didn't cause any breakouts.
ConsBeing a non-transferring cushion, it's bound to be matte, so even though I was diligent with my skincare routine, I found it too drying for my liking. As it wears down, it accentuates pores and has a slightly clumpy (?) appearance (photo attached after 6 hours of wear) The quick adherence is a plus, but since it's too drying for me, it was difficult to apply liberally in the morning.
TipI think it would work well if you have a very solid skincare routine or if you use it in the summer.

It seems a little brighter than 21 shade. The package looks cleaner, which seems to reflect customer feedback, and the cushion is large, so it's good for quick touch-ups.
ConsI went out at 10 AM and it's now 3 PM, 5 hours later, and there are visible pores and wrinkles. It looks a bit unattractive and caked on, especially around the nose area. Maybe it's because I haven't used the cushion in a while? I can only see the downsides. It doesn't completely transfer onto the mask, but it does transfer a bit. The areas around the nose and cheeks that touch the mask are all transferred. However, it finishes with an appropriate matte look and a neutral feel. I forgot to apply toner and serum and just used it, and it was quite matte. As I was applying it, I thought 'Oh, it's drying,' but it wasn't that uncomfortable after some time. I think it would have been better if I had properly done my skincare routine before using it. The caking isn't great, but the color retention seems good. The matte finish covers blemishes and redness well, but it accentuates texture issues and small blemishes, which is a bit disappointing.
TipIt seems good for covering discoloration and redness, rather than protruding blemishes. For dry skin types, if you do your skincare thoroughly, it should work quite well!
