This is truly my holy grail product. It's legendary for covering redness and absolutely perfect for nights out drinking. I've been using it since I was 20, and I never realized how red my face got when drinking until they discontinued it and I couldn't use it anymore... Please, please bring this back! I can't go out drinking without it... - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 15, 2022
Skin condition before use: I usually apply Innisfree, Aromatica ampoule, and Atomy sunscreen. Even with blemishes and acne scars, I didn't worry much since the mask covered them. As of May 14th, with mask-wearing guidelines relaxed, I was looking for a cushion that provides coverage or shows a bit of makeup. Texture: Worried about dryness, I applied a small amount. It has a liquid-like consistency visible to the eye. When applied to the cheeks, it appears more fluid and moisturizing than Atomy sunscreen. The texture seems lighter and easier to spread than sunscreen. Coverage: I bought only the refill of <Hong Shot Meringue Cushion> in 21 Light Beige without checking photo reviews. Using just a corner of the puff, I applied it in small sections, and it lightly covered my entire right side of the face. Staying power: I've only watched makeup tutorials on YouTube and this is my first time using a cushion. One way to improve coverage and longevity seems to be using a puff that pairs well with the cushion formula. Even if it transfers a bit to the mask, applying it thinly and evenly helps maintain a consistent look. After wearing it for 3 hours, eating, drinking, and having coffee, my skin still looked bright when I got home. It only lightly covers acne scars and redness, but I don't mind as thick, perfect coverage isn't good for the skin anyway. As long as it evens out the overall skin tone and makes it look like I'm wearing makeup, not completely covering redness isn't a critical flaw. (Try using it with other cover products.) A tip from a makeup expert on Instagram: don't apply too much product on the puff. Instead, use a small amount, dab it on your cheeks, and distribute it outwards for quick and light application. In practice, a small amount was enough to cover a large area. Using too much product can make the skin feel dry and look cakey, so I'm also applying sunscreen this way. While sunscreen tends to transfer onto masks, the <Hong Shot Meringue Cushion> hasn't transferred even after 5 hours of wear. - ye******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinOct 30, 2021
The coverage is definitely impressive. It evenly covers the skin with hardly any patchiness, and it's surprisingly moisturizing. My cheeks tend to be very dry, causing most foundations to flake, but this one felt nicely hydrating. However, due to its moisturizing nature, it transfers heavily onto masks. If I didn't have to wear a mask, it would probably stay put, but with a mask on, it smudges terribly. While the coverage is good, it doesn't seem ideal for super sensitive skin like mine. It's disappointing that it leans too red and yellow in tone. When dealing with noticeable blemishes, I found that spot-applying the product and gently patting it in provides excellent coverage. However, for everyday use, it's best to apply a thin layer for a more natural look. - df******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinRecommendedJan 22, 2021
I'm surprised the rating is lower than expected? I found it moisturizing and quite nice. It's a cushion that's slightly matte on the outside but hydrating on the inside. What's particularly great is that it comes in three shades, allowing for a much more natural skin appearance, and the coverage is excellent! Among the cushions I've tried recently, this one stands out. I think it would be perfect for summer use as it doesn't feel heavy on the skin. Update 2/6/2022: Revised review 4 stars -> 3 stars While I'm still using it regularly, the fact that I have 3 refills left suggests it's not my go-to cushion. Controlling the amount dispensed is especially challenging... So, my workaround is to apply a different product as a base, then use this cushion lightly on the T-zone, or as a concealer for under-eye darkness or areas of redness. It feels a bit too much for touch-ups due to the difficulty in controlling the amount. However, the staying power seems good... (though masks make everything come off anyway) Wonder when I'll ever use up those 3 refills. After trying both shade 21 and 23, I can say that unless you're very fair-skinned, shade 23 looks much more natural and gives a healthier complexion. Shade 21 will make you look ghostly! For touch-ups, apply just a small amount for less emphasized pores! - ru*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinJan 9, 2021
It's so moisturizing that there's no patchiness, and it's truly excellent in terms of coverage. It seems perfect for dry skin and might suit those who don't have sensitive skin. For non-sensitive skin types, it's an absolute dream! It's a perfect match. I wouldn't recommend this for atopic, acne-prone, or sensitive skin. (Not recommended) I didn't think it was because of this product at first, but I tried applying it twice with a gap in between as a test, and both times I got blemishes. I had to visit a dermatologist because of the severe breakouts around my eyes and cheeks. My face feels itchy and blemishes are popping up one by one. Also, it's too moisturizing both inside and out, and applies quite thickly, leading to significant transfer. (Not semi-matte at all) It might be good to finish with powder at the end. You'll need to be careful with the amount you apply. Finishing with powder is a good idea! - ka*****Normal SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 14, 2020
The coverage is great, effectively concealing acne scars. A little goes a long way, so it should last quite a while. The puff dispenses just the right amount thanks to its wide-mesh design, ensuring even application without color patchiness. I'm prone to occasional breakouts, so I'm not sure if the blemishes are due to my skin or if this product is exacerbating them. Initially, it feels quite rich, then settles, but after a while, my skin starts to feel oily again. - ye*********Normal SkinSensitive SkinDec 7, 2020
If you're good at applying makeup evenly, this product is decent. It goes on moisturizing, but after a few hours, I notice it separates around my nose and mouth area. Sadly, it's a bit disappointing. To be honest, it applies quite thick. If you have good skin, I'd recommend using IOPE instead. That one applies thinly and smoothly (though the IOPE cushion compact does fade quickly). Ugh, I already wrote above. It's so annoying they're asking me to write again, seriously... Use small amounts gradually. Gently press to dispense less product and apply. - Hwahae UserDry SkinNov 21, 2020
The coverage of this cushion foundation is impressive. It's also quite easy to control the amount you apply. While the coverage is excellent, you can't escape the feeling that it's thick like a foundation. It feels moisturizing when first applied, but gradually it starts to separate and dry out, causing itchiness.
