An honest 2-week review for sensitive skin Are you one of the many people searching for a gentle cleanser for your sensitive and dry skin these days? I was too, which is why I decided to thoroughly test the Acwell pH Balancing Bubble-Free Cleansing Gel for two weeks, intrigued by its 'bubble-free' gel formula. ✔ First Impression & Texture When I first squeezed out the product, I noticed its clear, transparent gel consistency. It wasn't too runny or sticky when applied to my hands, making it easy to spread on my face. The lack of foam might feel strange at first. However, true to its 'Bubble-Free' name, it glides on smoothly without any friction, making it ideal for sensitive skin. ✔ Cleansing Effectiveness I typically only wear sunscreen and brightening moisturizer, and this product alone was enough to cleanse my skin thoroughly without any residue. While it might struggle with waterproof makeup, it's sufficient as a primary cleanser and perfect for morning cleansing without the need for double cleansing. After cleansing, I didn't experience any tightness or dryness, and my skin felt noticeably smoother! ✔ Ingredients & pH Balance You know how a slightly acidic formula with a pH of around 5.5 is said to protect the skin barrier? Surprisingly, this product left my face feeling not tight at all after cleansing, but slightly moisturized instead. It's nearly fragrance-free, so those sensitive to scents shouldn't have any issues. ✔ Skin Reaction (for Sensitive Skin) I have combination dehydrated skin with an oily T-zone and dry U-zone, and my skin tends to flush easily. However, I used this product consistently for two weeks without any irritation or blemishes. I especially loved that I could gently cleanse without using a cotton pad, which reduced friction-induced irritation. ✔ Recommended for: Those with super sensitive skin who find foaming cleansers too harsh People looking for a gentle finish without tightness after cleansing Those with sensitive/combination skin seeking a low pH cleanser Anyone in need of a gentle product for morning cleansing This cleansing gel is truly recommendable for those with sensitive skin. You'll need a separate remover for heavy point makeup Some might feel it doesn't cleanse as thoroughly I plan to continue using this as my morning cleanser, and I'd like to stock up on it as a soothing cleanser for the hot summer months ahead - Hwahae UserNormal SkinJan 8, 2025
I recently tried a low pH bubble-free cleanser and I'm excited to share my review. I absolutely loved this product! First off, the gentle nature of this cleanser was its biggest advantage. Thanks to its low pH, it matched my skin's natural acidity perfectly. Even after cleansing, my skin felt hydrated rather than tight. It was a perfect match for my super sensitive skin. What I particularly appreciated was its bubble-free formula. Without foam, it adhered softly to my skin for effective cleansing, leaving my complexion smooth and soft afterwards. Unlike typical foam cleansers that can be overly bubbly, this one cleansed without irritation. Lastly, I felt reassured using this product due to its natural ingredients. I loved how it thoroughly cleansed without putting stress on my skin. Overall, I highly recommend this low pH bubble-free cleanser, especially for those with sensitive skin. I plan to keep using it, and I encourage you all to give it a try! While I generally liked the low pH bubble-free cleanser I recently used, there were a few aspects that left me wanting more. Firstly, I found its cleansing effectiveness somewhat lacking compared to other products. On days when I wore heavy makeup, it didn't seem to remove everything completely, necessitating additional cleansing. It was particularly challenging to remove waterproof products in one go, which was disappointing. Secondly, the packaging felt a bit inconvenient. The product was quite runny, making it difficult to control the amount dispensed. Sometimes, applying just a little pressure would result in too much product coming out, leading to waste. Thirdly, the scent was rather subtle for my taste. Personally, I prefer refreshing and pleasant fragrances, but this product was almost unscented, which felt a bit bland. Those who are sensitive to fragrances might find this disappointing. Lastly, the relatively high price point could be a drawback for some. When compared to other products with similar effects, I felt the cost might be burdensome for some consumers. Despite these drawbacks, I still think it's a product that offers gentle cleansing with minimal skin irritation. With some improvements, it could be even better! Here are some helpful tips to summarize: 1. Use the right amount: It's crucial to use the appropriate amount of cleansing product. Using too much can cause irritation, so cleanse gently with a small amount. 2. Cleanse with lukewarm water: Using lukewarm water when cleansing minimizes skin irritation and maximizes the product's effectiveness. 3. Gentle massage: When applying the cleanser, gently massage it onto your skin with your fingertips. Avoid rubbing too hard as this can stress your skin. 4. Hydrate well after cleansing: After cleansing, make sure to apply a moisturizing cream or emulsion to prevent your skin from drying out. 5. Regular use: Low pH cleansing products help maintain your skin's pH balance, so it's beneficial to use them consistently. 6. Patch test: When trying a new product, it's always safer to first test it on a small, sensitive area to check for any skin reactions. Keep these tips in mind to maintain healthy skin! - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinFeb 16, 2024
The packaging looks pure and clean, giving the illusion that your skin will improve just by looking at it But that illusion is just that - an illusion. The cleansing effectiveness is seriously lacking. I don't know why I was so stubborn. Everyone said it doesn't cleanse well, but I insisted on buying it because of the ingredients. Now I want to kick myself. It removes less makeup than my morning foam cleanser. I'm not sure this can even be called a cleanser - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinAtopy SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinFeb 15, 2024
As someone with super sensitive combination dehydrated skin, this cleanser doesn't cause any tingling sensation at all. It's fantastic for removing face makeup. I think I'll stick with this for my makeup cleansing routine from now on. Love it! However, as many people have mentioned, its cleansing effectiveness is a bit weak. While it removes most face makeup decently, it struggles with eye makeup. It's a bit of a hassle, but I use a separate cleansing oil for my eye makeup. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinDec 18, 2023
I've been using this product for four bottles now. I have sensitive combination dehydrated skin. What made me realize how gentle this product is: even though I usually feel irritation from cleansing foam, this product doesn't cause any irritation after washing since it's foam-free. My skin is extremely dry with excess oil, so it's prone to dead skin cells at the slightest hint of dryness. Hydration is crucial for me. With regular cleansing foams, no matter how moisturizing they claim to be, they continuously strip moisture (especially during morning cleansing). I typically need to use sheet masks regularly to replenish moisture. However, this product removes accumulated oil while simultaneously hydrating like a mask. Unlike other cleansers, it doesn't strip moisture. As a result, my skin stays hydrated without needing extra masks, except after exfoliation. Since using this product, my dead skin cell issues have improved significantly, and my makeup applies much better. However, as mentioned in the description, this product alone isn't strong enough for both first and second-step makeup removal. You need to use a cleansing water or oil for the first cleanse, then follow up with this product for the second cleanse. - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinMay 31, 2023
I love how it cleanses gently without causing any deep dryness after washing my face It doesn't completely remove foundation even after rolling twice - Hwahae UserNormal SkinSensitive SkinApr 4, 2023
- Gentle ingredients are a plus - The gel texture feels refreshing on the skin (gives a sensation of cooling down skin heat) - Since it doesn't lather, it's hard to gauge how much product to use - Lacks cleansing effectiveness.. Good for skin with just basic skincare, but not suitable for days with makeup (on days with sunscreen or foundation, definitely use cleansing oil or cleansing balm to dissolve makeup, this cleansing gel seems better as a second-step cleanser) - Without foam, it's unclear if everything's been properly removed, leading to more face rubbing compared to using a cleansing foam - Having to use it on dry skin is a bit inconvenient, as you need to wash and dry your hands first Suitable for morning cleansing or as a second-step cleanser - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinMar 5, 2023
The biggest advantage of Acwell Cleansing Gel is that you can remove makeup thoroughly without using tissues or cotton pads. Using tissues or cotton pads not only creates waste but can also irritate sensitive skin. While cleansing oils don't require tissues or cotton pads, they can be too rich for oily skin types. Acwell Cleansing Gel strikes the perfect balance - it's not overly rich, doesn't require tissues or cotton pads, and is foam-free, making it ideal for super sensitive skin. After use, your skin feels hydrated, not dry. I highly recommend it! However, I don't feel like the Acwell Cleansing Gel removes all my makeup on its own, so I still use a cleansing foam afterwards. This makes me question whether the bubble-free aspect is really meaningful. That being said, if you rinse thoroughly with water multiple times, you might be able to finish your cleansing routine with just the cleansing gel, without necessarily needing a cleansing foam. - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinDec 29, 2022
Gentle and non-irritating. It doesn't sting even when used around the eyes. The cleansing effectiveness is insufficient on its own. Contrary to the product description, it can't be used as an all-in-one for both first and second cleansing. A second cleanse is absolutely necessary! Use this as a first cleanser on days when you've only applied sunscreen. It's not suitable for removing makeup! - Hwahae UserOily SkinAcne SkinSensitive SkinNov 29, 2022
I ran out of my Dr.G cleansing gel in the living room, so I decided to try Acwell's this time. Usually, cleansing gels transform into a foam-like texture (though not as much as regular cleansing foams) giving a refreshing finish. This one, however, stays in gel form, making it feel super hydrating! Some might have mixed feelings about it being less refreshing, but since I don't wear makeup and only use sunscreen, it's perfect for my morning cleanse and removing sunscreen. I'm very satisfied. To compare: Cleansing foam - Refreshing 9, Hydrating 1; Dr.G Cleansing Gel - Refreshing 5, Hydrating 5; Acwell Cleansing Gel - Refreshing 2, Hydrating 8 For those used to cleansing foams, it might feel like you're applying a soothing gel until you rinse it off, making you wonder if you've actually cleansed your face. Especially if you wear makeup, you might feel like it hasn't completely removed everything. Great for morning cleansing! It removes excess oil while leaving the skin hydrated, so you can use it without worrying about dryness on oily skin.
