Gentle and non-irritating, it cleanses effectively.
ConsDon't expect extraordinary cleansing power. I wouldn't recommend it for removing heavy makeup.

While storage might be a bit tricky, the fact that it's zero-plastic and vegan alone gives it market appeal. I'm not sure about its cleansing effectiveness, but my skin feels moisturized after washing.
ConsIt's labeled as an all-in-one cleansing bar, but I can't really gauge its cleansing power. It doesn't remove mascara or eyeliner, and honestly, I'm not sure how well it removes face makeup either. So it seems like a product you'd use in place of a cleansing foam after removing makeup with oil or a remover. Storage might be a bit challenging.

Packaging - I loved that it's eco-friendly packaging! With the recent plastic crisis damaging our environment, the fact that it's plastic-free and vegan really caught my attention. 2. Skin irritation level - We've all experienced weak soaps that either don't cleanse well or strip the skin of all moisture and oil, leaving it feeling tight. When cleansing isn't effective, it can lead to blemishes and irreversible skin issues. In contrast, this soap lathers richly, causing minimal irritation with good cleansing effectiveness. After washing, there was no skin tightness! I think the oil ingredients in the formula help prevent moisture loss. 3. Skin-friendly ingredients - It's reassuring to use a product free from common ingredients like PEGs, fragrances, and linalool! 4. Fragrance-free - To be honest, I tend to avoid products with overpowering scents. The fact that this is fragrance-free is a huge plus for me! The basic soap base scent when you open the box is perfectly pleasant for me. Highly recommended for morning cleansing! As someone who wakes up with excessively oily skin, this soap was perfect for me. It's gentle, lathers well, and feels soft on the skin - I found myself reaching for it often in the mornings.
ConsIt's challenging to use this product alone for removing makeup! For point makeup like mascara or lipstick, it's best to use a dedicated remover first, then follow up with this soap as a second cleanse.
TipUsing it with a soap net makes it even better!

Recently, my lips were so dry after cleansing that I could barely move them, but this issue has significantly improved. The scent is pleasantly nutty, like grains, or if you're not a fan, it might remind you of crayons.
ConsSome say it's better with a foam net, but you have to buy that separately. However, I'm using it just fine without one. Also, since it's mildly acidic, don't expect it to remove heavy makeup effectively. It's best for morning cleansing or as part of a double cleansing routine.
TipInstead of rolling the soap around, I prefer to stand it on its side and melt it slightly with the heat from my palms to create a lather.

This was true even when my skin was healthy. After my skin barrier became compromised, I couldn't even touch those products. For this reason, I avoid soaps and washes containing sulfates, common synthetic surfactants, or those with acids high up in the ingredient list. I also steer clear of any wash or soap that feels drying after just one use. This soap, however, passes all these tests. I had been wanting to try Sioris's sprout toner and pine needle cream, but this Abobalm soap became my introduction to the brand. Thanks, Hwahae team! It has a simple formula with just 13 ingredients, including natural surfactants and beneficial plant-based components. With nourishing carrier oils, it's bound to be hydrating. True to its name, 'Abobalm' contains avocado and baobab oils. It also includes squalane (extracted from olives, not sharks, as it's vegan) and centella asiatica extract. Being a vegan product is a huge plus. As an ingredient enthusiast, I'm thoroughly satisfied with this soap. If you're looking for a gentle, moisturizing soap, I highly recommend this. There's no tightness at all, and my face remained hydrated even after multiple washes. With increased hand washing due to COVID-19, this soap is worry-free for frequent use. It's suitable for those with atopic dermatitis, extremely dry or problematic skin, and can be used on hands, feet, and face. It's even gentle enough for children. I also tried cleaning my makeup brushes with it, and it worked well.
ConsRather than a drawback, it's worth noting that this soap focuses on hydration and gentle cleansing. It's not meant for removing makeup. While it didn't remove cream-type foundations (I used a cleansing oil first, then this soap), it cleaned powder makeup from brushes effectively. I recommend using this as a second or third step for makeup removal. Also, due to the corn starch, there's a slight earthy or flour-like scent. One potential downside is that it might soften with use. It doesn't have the density of a hard soap.
TipIt produces rich lather when used with a foam net.

I used to do a double cleanse with foam cleanser and a mugwort soap, but since switching to the Clear Aboab soap, my complexion seems brighter and the blemishes from wearing masks have calmed down. It seems to work well for both hydration and soothing, so I've been using it for a week now and I'm extremely satisfied! Aroma: The all-natural ingredients give it a fresh scent that makes washing a pleasant experience. Texture: It's just the right balance of firm yet soft, and I love how well it lathers. Ingredients: This might be its biggest advantage. As you can see, there are no harmful ingredients like silicones or fragrances, and it even contains centella asiatica extract which is great for the skin. After cleansing, my skin feels moisturized without any tightness. Versatility: Given the quality ingredients, it could be great for baby baths or as a family hand soap! Of course, I'm using it sparingly as my second cleanser because it's too precious to waste.
ConsDue to its natural ingredients, it might not have the strongest cleansing power. I tend to wear heavy makeup, so for those who do full makeup daily like me, double cleansing with an oil cleanser or foam is probably necessary!
TipFor those who enjoy wearing heavy makeup, I recommend first removing eye makeup with cleansing oil or makeup remover, then using a foam cleanser, and finishing with the Clear Aboab soap. This way, you can thoroughly remove all makeup residue and enjoy the moisturizing and soothing benefits of the Aboab soap as a final step.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsIt's the first soap I've used that doesn't dry out my skin and keeps it moisturized! The lather feels hydrating from the start, and the soap itself is so gentle that it doesn't easily dry out the skin. Even after cleansing, my skin feels moisturized and soft. Usually in winter, using soap makes my skin feel dry immediately after washing, but with this product, I was surprised to find my skin still felt hydrated after cleansing. It seems like an ideal product for winter use. The baobab oil really helps to moisturize and soothe the skin, leaving it feeling wonderfully hydrated! I'm really satisfied with the ingredients! As a vegan product, it doesn't contain silicones or fragrances, and it's made with naturally-derived ingredients, making it perfect for people like me who have blemishes. Being a 100% naturally-derived, slightly acidic cleansing bar, it's gentle enough to use on both face and body, suitable for all age groups. Another advantage is that as a vegan product, it doesn't contain any irritating ingredients like silicones or fragrances.
ConsThis soap alone might not be sufficient to remove foundation or heavy makeup. While it may not completely remove all traces of makeup, its cleansing effectiveness is still quite good.
TipUsing a foam net to create a rich, soft lather will help you get the most out of this product. Place the soap on a sponge in a spot where water won't splash on it when not in use.

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsHere's a review from The Hwahae Testers! (11/20/20) I've only been using it for 3 days, so I'll update again in a week! I've been cleansing with soap for about 6 years now. I was using an American product but was looking for a Korean soap when I got the chance to try Sui Skin through The Hwahae Testers. As someone who follows a plant-based diet, I was particularly interested because it's vegan and cruelty-free. Skin type: Blemish-prone/sensitive skin. My skin reacts quickly if I use the wrong cosmetics. Pros: First off, no blemishes after use, so it passes that test! Ingredients/Scent: Made with ingredients I can understand, and I love that it's fragrance-free! (The color is pretty too) Soothing: Usually when I do a double cleanse (first with an oil product, then soap), my skin gets red if I cleanse for too long. But when I used Sui Skin for my first cleanse and my regular soap for the second, there was no redness, which seems great. Packaging: I appreciate that it's eco-friendly. Skin improvement: I haven't used it enough times to comment on other benefits, but I'll update after more use. Lastly, thank you for the handwritten note and vegan cookies you sent along!
ConsThere's a slippery feeling after cleansing. While there's no deep dryness or tightness after use, which is good, I don't feel like my skin is completely clean. For me, it's good as a first cleanse, but I find myself reaching for a soap with a bit more cleansing power to finish. Cleansing effectiveness: It seems a bit weak. On days when I wear makeup, I sometimes do a first cleanse with an oil product, and I think the Sui Skin soap would be good as a replacement for that first cleanse. But it feels a bit insufficient to use this soap alone for cleansing. It might be enough for days without makeup though. Repurchase intention: I'm not sure yet... So far, I'm still more attached to my regular soap. I'll update after using it a bit more!
TipMake sure to dry the soap properly after use to make it last longer! Try to keep it in a spot where it won't get wet!

Reviews by The Hwahae Testers undergo the same strict verification process as regular reviews, and if they don't meet our standards, revisions will be requested.ProsThe Hwahae Testers review: First off, I was impressed by Suiskin's attention to detail even before using the product. The eco-friendly packaging without tape, the heartfelt handwritten note, and the vegan cookie included with the delivery all aligned perfectly with the brand's ethical philosophy of prioritizing skin and environmental safety. It's clear they care about their consumers from product to packaging. Minimal tightness: Before using this Baobab soap, I thought cleansing bars always left skin feeling squeaky clean but uncomfortably tight. However, this soap leaves my skin feeling comfortable long after cleansing (similar to using a regular cleansing foam). While some tightness can occur if you leave your skin bare for too long after cleansing, it's much less pronounced than with other soaps. Fluffy lather: Unlike typical soaps, this Baobab bar produces a rich, fluffy lather even without a foam net. The bubbles are soft and pillowy, perfect for applying to the skin. All-in-one: As a low pH, vegan, all-in-one bar, it's incredibly convenient. You can use it all over your body, eliminating the need for multiple products. Eco-friendly: True to Suiskin's philosophy of creating products that are healthy for both skin and the environment, this soap uses naturally-derived ingredients. While I'm not extremely sensitive, I sometimes experience blemishes when switching skincare products. I was pleasantly surprised that after about a week of use, my skin remained clear and felt even softer.
ConsCleansing power: While this product has many positives, its cleansing power is slightly lacking. It removes basic makeup, but for heavier eye makeup, you'll need to use a separate eye makeup remover first. Scent: As someone particular about fragrances, I found the scent a bit earthy and slightly heavy, likely due to the natural ingredients. It's not overpowering during use, so unless you're extremely sensitive to scents, most people should find it acceptable. Cracking: The soap developed some cracks after the first use. While this doesn't affect its performance, those who prioritize aesthetics might want to keep this in mind.
TipFor heavy makeup, I recommend removing point makeup before cleansing with this soap. While it's a bit pricey, the brand often has sales, so keep an eye out for deals to get the best value. Although the soap lathers well on its own, using a foam net can create an even richer lather for those who prefer it.

However, this soap seems to agree with my skin as it didn't cause any blemishes or acne. It's a versatile cleansing soap, and best of all, it doesn't leave my skin feeling dry after washing. The lather is quite rich even with a small amount, and since it's not ideal for cleansing products to stay on the skin for long, I was able to rinse off the foam quickly. I don't typically wear heavy makeup, but when I used this to remove my face makeup and followed up with cleansing water, there was no residue left behind. Another plus is that since I go through cleansers so often, I appreciate that this doesn't create additional waste.
ConsIt's difficult to remove a full face of makeup with this product alone. For waterproof products, you'll need to use a separate lip and eye makeup remover first before cleansing.
TipThis is a handy cleansing option for days when you're only wearing sunscreen or no makeup at all.
