I have combination dehydrated skin prone to blemishes. Since switching from foam cleansers to soap, this one leaves my skin feeling smooth after washing, without any tightness. So far, I haven't found any downsides. I haven't experienced any blemish issues after using it. If you use your fingertips to gently massage areas with uneven texture like blackheads - around the nose, sides of the nose, and above the upper lip - you'll notice the impurities coming right out.
