Pros
I really wanted to try Aveda products because they have a good image, and I was lucky to be selected as a Hwahae Trial Reviewer to use the product. I used it twice a day from December 24th to January 4th. 1. Fragrance At first, I was surprised by the strong herbal fragrance, but personally, I liked it (similar to the herbal scent in a sauna). However, the fragrance is quite polarizing, so it's a good idea to check it out before purchasing. The fragrance seemed long-lasting, but it became very faint as my hair dried, and the scent dissipated quickly over time. 2. Hair Appearance After Use My hair is very fine and lacks volume, so I have flyaway frizzy curls. After using the product twice a day, my unruly flyaways calmed down a bit starting from the third use. My fine, limp hair also seemed to have more body, and there were fewer creases when I tied my hair up.
Cons
1. Ingredients There are 8 allergen-causing ingredients and 2 cautionary ingredients, which is quite a lot despite the many good ingredients. Since my scalp is sensitive and I can get pimples or itchiness from using the wrong shampoo or conditioner, I felt some itchiness when massaging my scalp with this product. I have a healthy scalp, but my husband has a sensitive scalp. My husband's scalp is seborrheic, with acne breakouts, dryness that causes dandruff, and redness when using the wrong shampoo. I would appreciate if you could review this product based on these considerations. 1. Fragrance I really like Aveda's signature fragrance, and this product also has the same pleasant scent. Compared to the Smooth Infusion or Nutriplenish products I use, this one has a slightly sweeter fragrance. The fragrance lingers subtly for about a day after use. 2. Scalp-safe I've always had difficulty using hair treatments because they're not supposed to be applied directly to the scalp. It was hard to avoid getting it on my hairline. But since this is safe for the scalp, it was much easier to use the treatment. 3. Moisturizing This review is from the perspective of using it on my husband's scalp, not my own healthy one. In the winter, his scalp tends to get dry, so he usually uses a scalp essence. But on the days he used this treatment, he didn't need the essence because his scalp didn't feel dry. I've been concerned about the part of my scalp where I part my hair, and this product is different from the typical hair masks that are used on the ends of the hair - it can be used on the scalp, so I was eager to try it! The scent is slightly mild, with a hint of herbal (?) aroma. But it's not overpowering, so it didn't bother me too much. The product texture is creamy, but not excessively thick! The opening part is nicely pointed, making it very easy to part the hair and apply it. The product itself is also very dense and concentrated, but since it's not silicone-based, it doesn't cause any scalp discomfort or back acne, which is great.
