While looking for anti-hair loss shampoos, I heard this one was popular, so I gave it a try! Since my hair is thin and fine, I'm using the Light version. It doesn't lather up too much! The scent might be hit or miss for some - it's kind of herbal? I didn't mind it though! When washing my hair, I definitely noticed less hair fall and reduced itching, so I plan to keep using it for a while. I heard the Rich type is good too, so I've already repurchased one of each - Light and Rich! I'm really satisfied with it so far.
ConsThe price is a bit steep though...! I wish they'd lower it a bit, sigh.

Natural Scent My husband and I love these natural scents, which is why we used to buy Aesop shampoo solely for its fragrance! Aveda Advanced Shampoo also has a strong, nature-inspired scent. Rather than floral notes, it smells like pine and other aromatic woods with a spicy undertone. It's an incredibly pleasant fragrance that I'm very satisfied with! 2. Controls Oily Scalp True to its word, even after just one use, you can feel how it manages and reduces oiliness and greasiness for those with oily scalps! This is due to the salicylic acid in the shampoo's ingredients. You might find yourself thinking, 'Huh? My hair isn't getting greasy as quickly today!' It genuinely has some effect on controlling oil production. 3. User Experience An oily scalp can easily become greasy, weakening the scalp and potentially leading to hair loss. Often, anti-hair loss shampoos can leave your hair feeling squeaky clean or prone to drying out. However, with Aveda Advanced Shampoo, the lather doesn't feel squeaky but rather becomes softer! After drying your hair, that's when you start to feel the clean, refreshed sensation. This unique experience was new to both my husband and me, and we found it fascinating throughout our use!
Cons1. Ingredients I thought the ingredients would be great since the scent is so natural, but I was surprised to find seven potential allergens. I was planning to repurchase, but now I'll have to reconsider. 2. Price The price of 38,000 won for 200ml might be a bit steep for some. When compared to other anti-hair loss shampoos on the market, if there's no significant difference in performance or user experience, it might struggle to compete at this price point. 3. Strips Too Much Oil Except for those with extremely oily scalps, people with normal scalp types might find it drying. It seems like it would be more suitable for use in summer rather than winter!
TipConsider buying if you: Have an extremely oily scalp You're always greasy no matter what! Prioritize fragrance You love nature-inspired woody scents

Thank you for the opportunity to use a product I've been wanting to try! First off, I occasionally suffer from seborrheic dermatitis on my scalp. It's not severe at the moment, just a bit oily, so I'll focus on that aspect. The fragrance is lovely... I've been avoiding shampoos with added fragrances, so it's been a while since I've used one. If you don't mind fragrances, you'll probably love this. It's not overpowering, just pleasantly aromatic. Oh, and it lathers incredibly well! A small amount was enough for a thorough wash. It's an expensive product, but it seems like it will last quite a while. Also, it leaves your hair feeling clean and not greasy during washing, which is great for those who dislike oily hair. I certainly appreciated that.
ConsMy main criteria for shampoos is whether they can keep my scalp oil-free for 24 hours, but honestly, few shampoos can achieve that. It also varies greatly depending on my condition. Given the price point of this product, I had higher hopes, but its oil control is similar to others. Also, I was a bit disappointed to see fragrance in the ingredients list, as that's not my preference.
TipA friend recommended a hair vinegar product that I'm currently using. When used in combination with this shampoo, it seems to be quite effective in controlling excess oil.

Personally, I love lemon scents, and this one leads with a lovely lemon and herbal aroma. There's a deeper note that I noticed, which comes from the ginseng and turmeric ingredients. They blend harmoniously to create a beautifully balanced, subtle, and sophisticated scent that makes every shampoo session a pleasant experience. -Cleansing Effectiveness- The cleansing power is truly impressive! I have a sensitive scalp and occasionally struggle with dead skin cells and dandruff, which can be itchy and uncomfortable. However, this shampoo has completely eliminated the itchiness and flakiness. The best part is how incredibly clean my scalp feels... It's refreshing, invigorating, and undeniably effective at cleansing. -Lather- Despite my fine hair that tends to require a lot of product to lather well, the Aveda Advanced Exfoliating Shampoo produces a rich lather without needing excessive amounts. This makes it both effective and economical, which I really appreciate.
Cons-Price- While I absolutely love everything about this product, I had to deduct one star because of the price. It's undeniably a bit steep for regular, long-term use. If it weren't for the cost, I'd be 100% committed to using this shampoo continuously, but the price does give me pause. -Volume- As someone who shampoos almost daily, I find that the bottle empties rather quickly given its size. It feels like it's gone in no time! Especially considering that many brands now offer larger sizes, this one seems quite small in comparison.
TipBecause I have fine hair, I can use less product mixed with water and still get a great lather. When I massage it into my scalp, it feels like I'm giving my scalp a thorough cleanse. Also, during rinsing, I gently comb through my hair with my fingers, and it rinses out easily while still leaving my hair feeling clean!

Fragrance: As someone with an allergy to artificial fragrances, I was worried about the scent. Fortunately, it didn't trigger any coughing. While the ingredients list could be improved, I'm satisfied that it didn't cause an allergic reaction. When I opened the shampoo bottle, the scent reminded me of traditional herbal cosmetics like Sulwhasoo or The History of Whoo. 2. Volume and Price: The price might seem a bit high for the amount you get. However, a little goes a long way - it lathers up nicely even with a small amount. 3. Packaging: The bottle design is convenient as you don't need both hands to open the cap. I've found some shampoo bottles frustrating when I want to add more product mid-wash, but this one-touch system is great for easy, one-handed use. 4. Post-Drying Results: I have long hair (waist-length with a perm) and due to the pandemic, I haven't been able to visit the salon, so my waves had almost disappeared. After using this shampoo, I noticed my waves coming back to life!
ConsThe cleansing effectiveness is quite disappointing. As a shampoo nomad, I was excited when I won this, but sadly it didn't live up to expectations. I have an oily scalp and fine hair, and I tend to get some dead skin cells when I scratch my scalp the day after washing. Based on the description, I thought this would be perfect for my scalp, but it makes my hair greasy way too quickly. Even though I don't go out much these days and only wash my hair every other evening, this shampoo leaves my hair looking unwashed by the next morning. My husband even joked that it looked like I hadn't washed my hair for a week! I thought it might just be me, so I had my husband try it too, and he said his scalp became oily faster than usual. The cleansing power seems to be lacking. I'm giving it three stars because I believe cleansing effectiveness is the most important aspect of a shampoo, and I wouldn't spend my own money on this product.
TipAfter noticing my hair getting greasy quickly the first time I used it, I tried double washing the second time. This resulted in more volume at the roots and revived the waves in my hair, which had lost its perm a while ago.

I love that the scent isn't artificial - it's more of a herbal aroma mixed with a cool fragrance, which is quite nice. As for hair loss prevention, I'll need to use it longer to tell, but I do notice some root volume when drying my hair.
ConsEverything's good except for the value for money... the price is quite steep. The immediate effect is mainly just root volume.
TipAt first, I thought it didn't lather well, but I found a better method. Before shampooing, I brush my hair upside down, then thoroughly wet my hair and scalp with lukewarm water before applying the shampoo. This works much better. Also, instead of rinsing immediately after shampooing, waiting a bit seems to make it feel more refreshing.

Scent There's a herbal aroma that I personally don't find off-putting like some others might. It gives a sense of healthiness? After drying, the scent is barely noticeable, which is nice. 2. Lather Unlike regular shampoos with voluminous foam, this one has a dense, compact lather that feels like it's thoroughly cleansing right down to the scalp, which I appreciate. While those who prefer abundant foam might find this slightly disappointing, I personally like the feeling of proper scalp care. 3. Hair Texture Usually, scalp-focused shampoos tend to leave hair feeling stiff, but this one leaves my hair feeling adequately soft after drying, which is great! 4. Volume My hair is naturally thin and fine, so it tends to lose volume at the roots. But with this shampoo, I get noticeable volume even without putting extra effort into blow-drying! However, it's inevitable that the volume decreases somewhat as time passes.
Cons1. Ingredients..? Looking at the ingredient list, I noticed some allergens and about 20 cautionary ingredients. While I usually don't have issues with most products, my scalp kept itching after use. Just before writing this review, I checked the ingredients and wondered if this could be the cause. I don't typically consider ingredients a major factor, thinking it varies person to person, but while my regular shampoo is fine, this one left my scalp itchy and tingly. I'll update this if it improves with continued use!
TipI believe that caring for thinning hair ultimately means caring for the scalp rather than the hair itself. Since the lather is quite dense, I recommend applying it evenly to the scalp and then massaging it in. This way, you can experience sufficient effects even with a small amount of product!
