This was my first time trying a stick lip balm, so I had some expectations. However, it didn't quite live up to them... [Overall Review] Moisturizing power: 2/5 Dead skin cell removal: 2.5/5 Application: 3/5 Design: 5/5 🔎 Perhaps my expectations were too high, but overall I found this product quite disappointing. It's neither here nor there - just mediocre. [Product Advantages] •Lightweight on lips It applies thinly, so it doesn't feel heavy on the lips at all. It almost feels like you're not wearing anything. However, this also means it's less moisturizing, which I'll discuss more in the disadvantages. •Less oily Because of this, it feels comfortable on the lips. It's not burdensome, which is nice. •Beautiful design!! I heard it's a vegan product, and the design perfectly matches that vibe. It's simple, with a matte cap and elegant lettering, so I was completely satisfied with the design. This was the most satisfying aspect of this lip balm. •Packaging It's all paper, which is environmentally friendly. •Portability Like most lip balms, it's the perfect size to slip into your pocket. It's convenient to carry around. •No acne even if accidentally applied to skin around the lips!! The product I used before would cause small pimples if it touched the skin around my lips, so I had to be careful when applying it. But with this one, there's no such issue. Even if it slightly touches the skin beyond your lips, the ingredients are gentle so it's fine!
Cons•Insufficient moisturizing power I'm not sure if this is because I've only used tube lip balms before and this is my first stick, but it dries out too quickly. Maybe it lasts about 20 minutes? When I feel my lips getting a bit dry and look in the mirror, I see the lip balm has solidified together with the partially softened dead skin cells... So I tried applying it as thickly as possible, but it still can't match the moist hydration of tube lip balms, and it feels heavy on the lips. •Dead skin cells don't soften as well as expected It's called a steaming lip mask, so I thought it would soften dead skin cells well. Some YouTubers even introduced it as a holy grail for dead skin cell removal, but personally, I found it really disappointing. Tube lip balms would soften the skin even with just a little application, but this one doesn't really soften. Instead, it seems to get stuck between the dead skin cells, making them more noticeable... Of course, even if you try to wipe it off with a wet wipe in this state, only the lip balm comes off, not the dead skin cells. I usually can't remove it well with wet wipes even with tube lip balms, so I tried using my fingers this time. But with this product, only the lip balm, not the dead skin cells, gets stuck under my nails. •Poor application This might be why it applies so thinly on the lips... It does get a bit easier to apply as you use it, but it's still not easy to apply. It's frustrating how poorly it applies.
TipIf you're thinking of buying this for dead skin cell removal or to apply before bed, please look for a different product... This isn't it. It just dries up completely.
