The ingredients are gentle and it has a mildly acidic pH. I applied BB cream on the back of my hand and was able to remove it completely using just this cleanser! It's really effective at cleansing. I'm not sure why, but when I use this product alone, my face turns red. The cleansing effectiveness is absolutely amazing!! Last year, I couldn't remove the professional sunstick I used with my rash guard. Other cleansing foams couldn't get it off either, leaving a yellowish stain around my neck. I tried this on a whim, and it cleaned it off instantly!! I was totally blown away!!!!! I've fallen in love with this product ever since!! After using this and toner, there's nothing left on the cotton pad!! On full makeup days, I always use this without fail!! Like most low pH cleansers, it leaves a slightly slippery feeling after use. I guess that's unavoidable I usually double cleanse, but with this product's cleansing power, once seems to be enough~~ Especially on days when I only wear sunscreen^^
