I bought this for when my skin looks tired or for important mornings! The texture is light like an emulsion, with tiny particles that didn't irritate my skin. It's best to spread it with your hands after applying with a spatula. It glides on smoothly with a hydrating feel. There's a slight warming sensation that doesn't last long. After 10 minutes, it rinses off easily without needing any tools. My skin felt clearer after washing! I mainly used it on mornings before important events - it helped reduce skin heat and seemed to refine my skin. Makeup also applied well afterwards. Overall, it has a lightweight texture, good for soothing the skin, provides hydration, and improves skin condition. However, it didn't have a significant effect on blemishes. It gives a feeling of revitalizing the skin. The texture is too light, and due to the small amount, it runs out quickly. For a scrub effect, try spritzing on a hydrating mist before rinsing and gently massaging it in. - sw****Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMar 25, 2022
It absorbs smoothly and the tube packaging is hygienic. I love the subtle scent of mugwort. The mask seems to dry out rather quickly. Other than that, no complaints. - qk********Normal SkinWrinkles/ElasticityEnlarged PoresRecommendedSep 9, 2021
I'm really happy with how gentle it is on my skin! It helps soothe blemishes, and the exfoliating particles are great for removing dead skin cells. It's a shame the product runs out so quickly due to the small size. I wish they'd increase the volume. You won't see results after just one use. I recommend using it consistently at least twice a week before bed for best results. - Hwahae UserOily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedJun 21, 2021
I bought this because it doesn't contain any ingredients that are bad for acne-prone skin, and I'm really pleased with it. - Gentle ingredients I'm writing this review after using it three times, and I haven't experienced any blemishes at all. - After using it, my skin feels brighter somehow. - The subtle mugwort scent is likely to be less polarizing. - Volume At 50ml, it's a small size that might run out quickly after just a few uses. I wish it came in a larger size... - Wash-off mask I'm adding this to the cons because I'm worried I might get lazy and stop using it regularly. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMay 1, 2021
I decided to try this product since I heard that mugwort has great soothing effects, and Bonjour is known for being mindful of their ingredients. The mask itself applies smoothly, and I didn't notice it drying out or cracking even after some time. Plus, I didn't experience any blemishes while using it, which is great. What I really appreciate is how gentle it was on my skin. After using it, I couldn't really tell if my skin was calmed or if there was any noticeable reduction in blemishes. I can tell it's mild, but since I don't feel any significant changes, I'm not sure if I can say it's good or bad. - tj*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinSebum/BlackheadsDark CirclesInner DrynessEnlarged PoresRecommendedNov 18, 2020
This is my honest review of a product I purchased with my own money. First, let me describe my skin type. Currently, I have combination dehydrated skin that's also sensitive. In the past, I used to over-cleanse trying to get rid of oiliness and blackheads, which left my skin feeling tight like it might crack. However, it's much improved now. For the past two months, I've been experiencing small bumps and inflammatory blemishes from my forehead to chin, so I'm careful about which products I use. Based on my experience, tea tree, centella, and hyaluronic acid seem to work well for me. I use them all in moderation. On the other hand, I avoid shea butter, citric acid, and pore-clogging ingredients (like certain acids). These tend to cause small bumps or inflammatory acne for me. Remember, this is just my personal opinion, so please use your own judgment when making a purchase! Application: 4/5 For a product with granules, it's not too harsh, but it might irritate very sensitive skin. That's why I deducted one point. Overall, it applies smoothly. Scent: 5/5 The strong green tea scent is soothing if you're used to grain or tea fragrances. I gave it 5 points since green tea product lovers will likely buy this. It's similar to the scent you might encounter during a foot bath at a massage place. Hydration: 5/5 Unlike the mud pack from the same line, this calming pack doesn't feel tight even after some time. I usually leave it on for about 15 minutes, and there's hardly any tightness during that time. Even after washing it off, my skin feels hydrated. Richness: 3/5 Since this product is also moisturizing, it can feel a bit like there's residue left after washing. It goes beyond feeling moisturized to feeling slick, which makes the skin look soft, but I'm not particularly fond of this sensation. Skin Texture: 5/5 It seems to brighten the complexion slightly and make the skin look smoother. Blemish Care: 4/5 While it doesn't dramatically calm blemishes, it does help soothe areas that were irritated from picking, or slightly red areas without inflammation. Plus, using this pack doesn't cause new blemishes to appear! Ingredients: 5/5 Good because it doesn't contain harmful ingredients! Packaging & Price: 3/5 The amount is a bit small, and it's not particularly cheap. It's fine to use once every 1-2 weeks, but frequent use might be costly. I don't use it often as I have various calming treatments in my routine. The price is disappointing. The feeling of residue left on the skin isn't very pleasant. My Personal Tips: 1. It's great to use when you've already picked at a pimple or when it's in its final stages! 2. Rinsing with cool water seems to help with calming even more. 3. If you dislike the residue feeling, rinse gently multiple times and follow up with an exfoliating toner! 4. It's good to use after exfoliating! I recommend this for: People who want to calm mild redness, those who dislike wash-off masks that leave the skin feeling too tight, and those who like green tea packs and find mugwort suitable for their skin. If you're curious about other products I use or my entire routine, feel free to ask! I've changed not just my cosmetics, but also my cleansing method and entire skincare routine. - al******Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedOct 2, 2020
This summer has been exceptionally hot and humid, causing my sebum production to go into overdrive and making those pesky blackheads on my nose particularly bothersome. I've always found wash-off masks a hassle and never felt the need for them, but this time I just couldn't take it anymore. After scouring Hwahae, I stumbled upon this little gem! It was my first time trying both Bonajour and a wash-off mask, and I'm thoroughly impressed★ 1. Ingredients: Given that it's a cleansing product that sits on the skin for a while before being washed off, I was naturally concerned about the ingredients. But they passed with flying colors! What's more, it contains ingredients that work well for my skin, which made me even happier. Although I was slightly worried about the Houttuynia Cordata extract since it doesn't always agree with my skin 100%, it turned out to be no problem at all. 2. No Dryness: Most reviews I've read for other wash-off masks insist on applying skincare products after cleansing, but as someone with extremely oily skin in summer, I didn't feel any tightness even without applying anything afterward. As the product description states, it's not designed to absorb sebum but to provide hydration, so I actually felt moisturized after washing it off. 3. Smooth Skin: There's a noticeable difference when I apply my skincare products in the morning after using this mask at night - they absorb so much better. I especially noticed improved absorption with hyaluronic acid products, which typically take longer to sink in. While I'm satisfied enough to have finished one tube and purchased two more, there are a few downsides: 1. Doesn't Alleviate Blemishes: Despite containing mugwort, which usually works well for me, I didn't notice any effect on reducing blemishes. At least it didn't make them worse, which is a relief. 2. Minimal Blackhead Removal: I didn't feel like my pores shrunk or that there was a significant reduction in blackheads. However, it did give me a sense of purifying my skin from excess sebum! 3. Price: While I understand that using quality ingredients means they can't set the price too low, as a consumer, we can't ignore the cost factor. I bought mine during a Hwahae sale for 9,900 won, which I thought was quite reasonable. If you're planning to buy, keep an eye on Hwahae Shopping! 4. Quantity: There's just too little product! The 6-month shelf life isn't short by any means. Even though it's not a daily-use product, you need to use quite a bit each time, so it runs out quickly. To apply a thick layer on your face, you need to squeeze out a lot, so it depletes faster than you might expect. Being impatient, I can't just sit still with a mask on my face. I apply the mask as the first step when I shower. Then I wash my hair and body, and rinse off the mask last. (Though the mask inevitably gets partially washed off while I'm cleaning other areas.) Since it contains exfoliating particles, those with particularly thin or sensitive skin should be careful. Also, it has a noticeable mugwort scent, so be aware if you're sensitive to that smell. - en*******Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedMar 6, 2020
A decent mask overall! As someone who enjoys wash-off masks, I appreciate its creamy texture that applies smoothly. There's no irritation even after rinsing it off. The quantity is too small. Typically with wash-off masks, you need to apply them generously for the best results. But with this product, if you do that, you'll use it up in no time without even realizing how many times you've used it. - so********Oily SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedDec 4, 2019
I bought this product to soothe my skin when it flared up during summer. It definitely has a cooling effect on flushed, heated skin! After use, my skin feels smooth and supple. While it does help reduce the heat on my face, I noticed it doesn't actually clear up blemishes. Try mixing it with green tea powder and applying it to your face! It feels twice as soothing that way. - mo*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinAtopic SkinMay 27, 2019
I bought this after checking the ingredients, and I'm pleased to say it's very gentle. There's no stinging or irritation at all. After rinsing with lukewarm water, my skin feels wonderfully hydrated. I had high expectations and bought this in a hurry when my skin was stressed and breaking out. Unfortunately, it's not as effective at calming blemishes as I had hoped.
