ConsWas it really necessary to add fragrance that doesn't benefit scalp health? Lacks sufficient oil content for dry scalps. Moisture retention isn't particularly impressive either. Price and quantity aren't appealing without a discount. Painful pimples appeared along the M-shaped hairline. Itchiness at the back of the head. Most Koreans have oily scalps even if their face is dry. This Ryo essence was disappointing for dry scalps. No concerns about odor, so fragrance is unnecessary... Moisture retention and oil-stripping sensation... Feels like a product designed for oily scalps. While using it, I noticed reduced scalp redness, improved circulation, and new hair growth, but my hair strands became thinner. However, I wasn't eating well during this time. It's hard to tell if the thick adult hair is falling out and being replaced by new growth, but overall hair volume doesn't seem to have changed. I can't say for sure that hair loss has decreased significantly. But I also take responsibility for not eating properly. I'm unsure about its hair growth effects, but the redness-reducing effect is definitely noticeable.
Tip++Additional notes Applied all over after washing hair at night, before and after blow-drying. No use at other times. No other scalp care products used. One bottle lasts about a month and a half. Scalp and hair are affected by seasons, diet, and stress, so don't expect dramatic, immediate results from cosmetics alone. It's important to maintain a regular sleep schedule and eat well.

After using it consistently every other day, I feel like the dead skin cells have settled down, and my scalp seems less red and sensitive. While I honestly haven't noticed a significant change in hair loss yet, I believe with continued use, it might show some effects. I plan to keep purchasing and using it regularly. Also, the container seems well-designed, making it easy to apply without dripping all over the scalp.
ConsThe regular price is quite steep, so it's best to stock up on several when it's on sale. I'm a bit disappointed that I haven't felt the effects on hair loss prevention yet. Other than that, I haven't found any major drawbacks so far.

When you apply it, there's this refreshing 'ahh' sensation. It's almost like your scalp can breathe, which instantly lifts your mood. The fragrance and consistency are great too. It seems they've reformulated it - the scent isn't overpowering (just a hint of cool pine and herbal notes). The texture is perfect - not runny, but not sticky either. It absorbs quickly into the scalp. For my normal scalp, there's no greasiness. I was worried it might make my hair feel heavy the next morning, but surprisingly, my hair didn't get oily throughout the day. The product's nozzle doubles as a massage tip, which is genius. You need to apply a bit of pressure for the essence to come out, making it easy to give yourself a scalp massage while applying. Despite some concerns about the ingredients, I experienced no irritation or itching. Instead, I felt the cooling effect and enjoyed the refreshing scent.
ConsThe cooling effect doesn't last as long as I'd like. I only applied it in 3-5 lines along my part, so maybe that's why, or perhaps it absorbs too quickly. The lack of detailed usage instructions is a bit frustrating. The first time I used it, I wasn't sure if I was doing it right. I had to come to Hwahae to read reviews for guidance. Maybe the manufacturer wants us to find our own method?
TipHere's a tip: While some people apply it with their fingers, I use the massage tip as intended. Each time I apply, I spend about a minute massaging it in, moving around my entire scalp and pressing firmly. I've discovered how refreshing it feels on areas I usually neglect, like the back and sides of my head. Even after finishing the product, I'm keeping the tip for future use - it's that good!

The texture is a very light brown, viscous essence as shown in the photo. When applied to the hair, it doesn't drip but feels like it's coating well. The scent is a typical cosmetic smell with a very subtle hint of ginseng. I was worried my hair might become sticky after application, but it didn't. Instead, the treated areas felt soft and smooth, which I really liked. After using it for about ten days, I can't honestly say if it dramatically reduced hair loss, but I could feel my hair becoming shinier and softer to the touch. With consistent use, I think it would be great for preventing hair loss by nourishing the scalp.
ConsThe ingredients don't seem as good as I expected. Also, the nozzle of the product is slightly pointed, so after applying, you must massage it in with your fingers to spread it evenly. (A roll-on type container would allow for easier massage without using fingers.)
TipAfter washing your hair in the evening and towel-drying, apply the essence and massage it into your scalp with your fingers. Then, completely dry your hair with a hairdryer. This method leaves your hair soft and smooth without any stickiness.

It's perfect for applying to the scalp - if it were too watery, it would have just dripped off. But this doesn't run at all. Whether it's due to the alcohol or menthol, when you apply the product and blow-dry your hair, you can feel a cooling effect. It's so refreshing! After drying your hair completely, there's no stickiness, and it doesn't make your hair clump together. The quantity is quite generous, so it seems like it will last for a long time. Using it consistently should be beneficial for the scalp, right?
ConsThe plastic tip, is that what it's called? The application part is made of hard plastic, so if you try to massage it in as described in the instructions, it might be a bit painful. It's probably better to just apply it gently.
TipAfter washing your hair, before blow-drying, apply a little bit all over your scalp and then dry your hair. It feels cool and nice, like the heat is being drawn out of your scalp.
