I was looking for something to add depth but brown shades made me look sallow, and lighter shades didn't suit me. Then I discovered this palette... My first impression was 'cement???', but it looked so unique that I boldly purchased it, thinking I'd keep it even if it didn't work out! After using it, I'm absolutely thrilled. It's a must-have on my vanity!!! I can't do my makeup without it. It's great as a base, for contouring, mixing for shading, filling in brows, creating eyeliner, and even touching up the hairline. When I use this palette alongside others, it elevates my entire makeup look! It's an absolute essential.
ConsThe three colors on the bottom left are too similar. The second and third shades on the bottom row are fine for shading or adding depth to the eyes when mixed, but the first shade on the bottom row is just grey with a lot of white, making it quite bright. I'm not sure how to use it effectively. I wish they had replaced this color with a subtle shimmer shade instead. A characteristic of Rom&nd palettes is that they don't build up well. I prefer natural makeup, so it doesn't bother me much, but those who like to layer their eyeshadows heavily might find this disappointing.
TipWhile it can look really beautiful when used appropriately for your eye shape, be careful not to apply it over too large an area, as it might make you look bruised or tired!

I thought it might feel heavy, but it actually felt better than eyeshadows that don't match my skin tone.
ConsWhile it might look complicated at first, it's actually quite suitable for everyday use. It would have been nice if it included some accent colors or shimmers though.

Applies lighter than expected, allowing for easy adjustment.
ConsIt would have been great if one of the three gray shades had some shimmer. The difference between the three colors is so subtle, you'd need AI to tell them apart.

That was warmer than I expected, but this one is genuinely cool-toned and I love it so much! As a cool-toned deep/dark winter, it suits me perfectly. Just applying one or two shades completes my eye makeup, making it super convenient for daily use.
ConsA few of the shades at the bottom don't have much difference between them. I wish they had included one or two glitter shades instead...
TipHighly recommended for cool-toned deep dark winter complexions!

The subdued, low-saturation colors are excellent.
ConsNothing particularly bad. If I had to nitpick, maybe it could use some shimmery shades?

I'd been eyeing it for ages, so I was thrilled to finally try it out. To be honest, I was skeptical about the three gray shades - who uses those these days? But surprisingly, they're great for base areas, mixing with other colors, and even nose contouring. All the shades have a subtle gray undertone - the beige, the brown, and even the plum. It's perfect for cool winter complexions. When I first swatched it in-store, I was shocked at how pigmented it was for a matte formula. The color payoff is seriously impressive. This palette is the real deal. It's become my go-to everyday product.
ConsThere's not a single shade I'd consider a dud. If I had to nitpick, I wish they'd replaced one of the gray shades with a glitter option. That would've been the cherry on top.
TipMixing Bright Fog with Dry Gray or Skin Ash creates the most natural-looking nose contour. Skin Ash is also perfect for creating subtle aegyo sal shadows.

My heart breaks when I see so many negative reviews on YouTube. Admittedly, this might not suit many people in Korea, but for those of us with a true grayish tone, deep-set eyes, and lots of gray around the eye area, popular eyeshadows often look mismatched and float on our skin. The Fog Garden palette is a godsend for me - it's the only one besides 'Dried Buckwheat Flower' that actually works! Rom&nd, thank you so much for releasing this matte gray-toned palette. Without it, I'd be forced to shop internationally. The bottom row colors that everyone calls 'cement'? They're literally my skin tone and just add dimension to my eyes. I'm seriously considering making a YouTube video to show there are people who suit this palette, just to prevent it from being discontinued. Please, please keep it in production!
ConsIt would have been even better with one fine gray glitter shade! Finding gray glitter is nearly impossible unless you order from ColourPop internationally. Any chance of a two-pan gray glitter palette in the future, Rom&nd?

I've got my hands on the super hot new Rom&nd palette that just came out a couple days ago. Since it's such a blazing hot new release, I'm sure many of you will be looking for reviews. So I'll make sure to write an extra careful and detailed one to answer all your questions! Now, let's dive into this thorough review: ❤My Info❤ - Light shade 21 (prefer natural skin), pale greenish skin tone without much redness (olive undertone) - Summer+Fall mute tone (more affected by chroma than temperature) ✔Product Info & Features✔ - A truly grayscale 10-pan matte palette, first of its kind in Korea - Various levels of brightness for easy layering and contouring - Excellent color payoff, minimal fallout - Regular price 30,000 won (early 20,000 won range during sales) 🧡What I Liked🧡 👍🏻Color Range + Personal Color Classification This is the first truly grayscale, grayish to dull-toned 10-pan matte palette I've seen in Korea. It's 90% worth collecting just for that! While there are some warm tones mixed in, it's mostly cool-toned grays or grays with a few drops of natural (not artificial) colors added. The grayness gives most looks an inevitably decadent vibe. The more I applied it under my eyes, the more I kept thinking of Dane DeHaan's dark circles! It's the ultimate mood-setter, which I absolutely love. It pairs best with cool-toned lips, so the personal color that suits this palette best is likely cool Winter (though not all cool Winters, especially cool Springs). I'm between Summer Mute and Autumn Mute (neither too cool nor too warm works for me), but if I use the bottom 3 grays sparingly, I can get great results. So those of you with in-between seasonal tones might want to consider this too! Now let's break down each color in detail (10 shades... we've got a long way to go!): ✅ Bright fog - True to its name, it's a bright foggy shade! A high-brightness ivory-beige that's great as a base (for Korean skin tones). It also blends well with darker shades, so it might pan first. ✅ Skin ash - A slightly warm oat brown? It's good for creating a less gray look with this palette. Suitable as a secondary contouring shade. ✅ Misty ground - The name suggests a muted gray-brown, but it's actually a blue-leaning cement color. The shade that differs most from how it looks in the pan! ✅ Purple dust - A lower chroma, grayer version of the purple-gray we're familiar with. My favorite shade in the palette because it has the most distinct color, making it fun to apply. ✅ Dust land - A cool charcoal gray feel. Darker and more brown-leaning than the similar-looking Taupe brown below. The second darkest shade, suitable for tertiary contouring. ✅ Dry grey - Moving to the bottom row! A high-brightness cool gray, great for starting a semi-smoky look (then move right in order). Reportedly very similar to the cool-toned contouring shade "Macaron Gray" from Ameli. ✅ Fog hugging - More gray and black added compared to Dry grey. Good for adding depth after applying Dry grey. ✅ Dusty grey - More blue-gray added compared to Fog hugging, and one step lower in brightness. Good for tertiary contouring & emphasizing lower lashes! ✅ Taupe brown Finally, the quintessential gray-brown! My second favorite shade. Great for subtle contouring + perfect for quick 3-second eyebrows (I filled in my brows with this in the last photo). ✅ Soft black Not soft at all - it's a cool true black. Much darker than the brown eyeliner I own, given its low brightness compared to other shades. Seems to stain a bit? It's the only one that didn't wipe off easily during arm swatches. 👍🏻Texture + Application Rom&nd's powder products are famously good, as most of you know! The slightly transparent, thin texture allows for subtle and deep looks. The fine powder minimizes clumping. It's right between hard-pressed and soft, and as you can see from my arm swatches, it applies beautifully. Layers well for easy control of intensity. Recommended texture for beginners! 👍🏻Color Payoff When I was swatching on my arm (over foundation), I had to apply several times to get the true color, so I was unsure. But when I applied it to my eyes, I was shocked! It maintains that signature semi-sheer, thin feel while still showing up vividly. I personally prefer eyeshadows with good color payoff, so I'm extremely pleased. 👍🏻Adherence/Longevity For some reason, it adheres really well and doesn't come off easily. Even when I rubbed it, it barely budged. Naturally, the good adherence means it lasts well too! I have hooded eyes, but there was almost no creasing. 👍🏻Color Mixing The official website says you can mix high-chroma colors that don't suit you with this palette to lower their chroma. I thought "Is that really necessary?" but when I tried it, it actually worked quite well! You can mix it with blush to create a contouring shadow, and those of us with muted tones who always have one or two shades in a palette that don't suit us might find this quite useful.
Cons🖤Drawbacks🖤 👎🏻Other Shades The other shades (1, 2, and 3) except for 4 seem too common. Shade 1 is too spring-like, so I passed. Shade 2 is too warm, so I passed again. And shade 3, except for the shimmer, is a very common slightly saturated dried rose tone that many brands already offer. In the end, only shade 4 was left for me. I had such high hopes... While beginners without palettes might welcome this 10-pan palette, as a palette collector (haha), I probably won't buy additional shades unless they add options for in-between seasons and muted tones. I hope they'll add more diverse color ranges in the future, like with their 4-pan palettes... 👎🏻Too Many Grays The top row has distinct colors that are fun to choose from, but the first 3 colors in the bottom row are just grays with progressively more black added. In photos, they looked usable, but when I actually received it and applied it to my eyes, I was surprised by how little difference there was between them. It might have been better to remove two of those middle grays and add 2 shimmery whites or silvers in different textures, like the pearl in their "Dried Buckwheat Flower" palette. 👎🏻Packaging Wow, it's the epitome of dullness! The inside is already cement-colored and dark, and now the outside is gray too... The renewed Rom&nd Zero Gram lipsticks looked more luxurious, unique, and pretty in person than in photos when I first saw them, but this... the design is too predictable and ordinary. It would have been better if it had a more sophisticated feel. ...It seems to photograph better than it looks in person, haha!
Tip💛Overall Impression💛 I've written about the drawbacks in detail, but that just shows how interested I am in this product! Rom&nd... I love them so much because I think they're the only domestic beauty brand that always puts consumers first. If any staff members happen to see this, please don't misunderstand... 🍯Pro Tip🍯 Mix Bright fog and Dry grey for a super natural nose contour! If gray suits you well, use more Dry grey. If warmer contours suit you better, mix in more Bright fog. +++Mixing all the shades in the bottom row except Soft black works great for jaw contouring too! And the darkest shade, Soft black, is perfect for filling in hairlines and sparse areas on the forehead. I have olive skin that turns reddish on the face and even use Peripera Ink V Shading #3, so those with similar skin tones (refer to my info above) might find this helpful! 📸Photo Descriptions📸 1) Natural light; very close to actual colors 2) Comparison with other Cool~Summer Mute~Autumn Mute palettes (sorry for the low quality...) 3) Fluorescent light; 98% identical to actual colors (where did I get that number...?) 4) Phone flash light; also very similar to actual colors, but appears slightly cooler 6) Overall look (Lips: Rom&nd Dusty Pink+Burnt Heart, Blush: Rom&nd Blueberry Chip) End of review🎉🎉 I'll be happy if you give this a heart...❤ If you have any questions, please leave a comment! I'll answer right away.
