As someone who can't leave their hair alone and has been maintaining bleached hair for 6 years, I've tried many color-depositing shampoos. However, I haven't seen anything as effective as the Fanola color-depositing shampoo. It's fantastic for maintaining ash or violet hair color after dyeing, and it's incredibly effective at neutralizing yellow tones after bleaching!

The downsides are that it can stain your nails, so you must wear gloves, and if left on unevenly bleached hair for too long, it can turn well-bleached sections a white-ash color, making the patchiness more noticeable. Also, frequent use of color-depositing shampoo can make your hair very dry, so I recommend using it only once a week or once every two weeks.

Tip 1) Use gloves. If you're using a color-correcting shampoo for the first time, latex gloves are absolutely essential. Tip 2) Leave it on! After lathering with the color-correcting shampoo, you must leave it on for at least 5 minutes. To ensure even color distribution without patches, make sure to work up a rich lather!

As the instructions warn, if you don't use gloves and apply it with bare hands, you'll end up with purple-stained fingernails. Even scrubbing vigorously won't remove it... it really won't come off. The stain lasts for over 3 days...

I currently have ash blue hair, and by using a color-correcting shampoo, I've managed to maintain the ash tone for nearly two months now. If you want to keep that ashy look for a long time, a color-correcting shampoo is an absolute must!

I bought this after going platinum blonde.

1. Red tones
It seems to be doing its job as a color-correcting shampoo quite well. Even though I went platinum, I was a bit stressed about the red tones coming through. Using this once a week has really helped neutralize those unwanted red tones, which I'm happy about.

2. Lather
I'd heard that color-correcting shampoos don't lather well, but this product creates a rich, abundant lather which I really like. I would have felt uneasy if it didn't lather well, so I'm pleased with this aspect.

It's not as thick as regular shampoo, but it's not watery either. I'd say it's on the thinner side.

The fragrance reminds me a bit of candy or sweets? But I found it quite pleasant overall.

As a color-correcting shampoo, it's so effective that using it once a week is enough. So even though it's not a huge bottle, it lasts quite a while.

It's not suitable for frequent use. Considering scalp and hair health, even once a week feels excessive. I'm using it once every 2-3 weeks. The key is to rinse it out meticulously, no matter what

- Leaves hair extremely stiff, making a treatment or hair essence absolutely necessary
- Gloves are a must as it can stain under your nails
- Thorough rinsing is crucial. Washing it out like regular shampoo led to purple residue under my nails when scratching my scalp, which was shocking. Also caused unexpected blemishes and itching on my previously clear scalp

- Effectively neutralizes yellow tones
- Unlike other products that turn dull and greenish over time, this one maintains its color
- For best results, apply with a foaming lather, massage thoroughly, then leave on for about 15 minutes with a cap for potential gray hair coverage

The downside is that it stains your hands purple, so you always need to wear plastic gloves when applying it.

I bought this to maintain my hair color. After using it for a week, I found the results to be quite effective.

I recommend using a leave-in hair treatment or applying lots of hair essence after use! Vinyl gloves are a must! I almost ended up with purple hands when I tried without them. Ha!

Be prepared for a scolding from your mom if it stains your hands, and you have white bathroom decor or white towels.

To avoid the purple residue issue, I shampoo once, then apply the purple shampoo and leave it on for 5 minutes, followed by another regular shampoo. This method still gives great color results.

Even after thoroughly rinsing and drying my hair after using this purple shampoo, purple residue still comes off my scalp when I scratch it... No matter how much I rinse, it seems unavoidable. While the scent isn't overpowering, I found it oddly unpleasant. The fragrance lingers in my hair for a day or two.

This seems to be the best purple shampoo out there! I occasionally dye my hair and maintain a platinum blonde look through bleaching.

The color payoff is incredible. After leaving it on for about 5 minutes, it gave my hair a watery light purple tint. After washing it out twice, I achieved the hair color shown in the photo below! If you're not a fan of that faint purple hue, you could try leaving it on for a shorter time.

The lather is surprisingly good. After shampooing once and then using this purple shampoo, you get an incredibly rich lather. I love that the abundant foam prevents any patchy application.

As for longevity, while many use purple shampoo every other day, I use it once a week. Even with weekly use, it maintains a nice ashy tone. If you've dyed your hair ash blonde, this should really help you maintain that color.
