  Pros

  Being a toner, it has a watery consistency and provides good hydration. Most importantly, since it contains houttuynia cordata extract, it noticeably calms the skin when used on irritated areas or blemishes.

  Cons

  The scent is quite strong... like herbal medicine? At first, I thought about not using it because of the intense smell. But then I figured, 'The stronger it smells, the better it might be for me,' so I gave it a try. Now I'm very satisfied with it.

  Tip

  I'm using it by soaking a cotton pad and gently wiping it over my skin.

  Here's my review after finishing the entire bottle! My skin is extremely oily with acne and scars. I had high hopes for this product since houttuynia cordata has worked well for my skin before. Soothing power: While it didn't dramatically calm my skin when it flared up, it did a solid job of gently comforting my angry skin after extractions. I often used it as a mask post-extraction and was quite satisfied with its soothing effects. Absorption: It seemed to absorb well with a few pats, without feeling like it was sitting on top of the skin. However, it is a bit on the sticky side. Hydration: The hydration was great! It gave that 'fully replenished' feeling, so I was really pleased with the moisture it provided. Scent: Being houttuynia cordata, it has that herbal, traditional medicine scent. It might be divisive, but I liked it. It gave me a feeling that my skin was going to improve and become healthier. Value for money & quantity: I went through the bottle quickly as I used it generously for masks and as an exfoliating toner. But the price is reasonable, making it a great option for nighttime soothing without breaking the bank.

  Cons

  If I had to nitpick, it would be the stickiness that remained even after absorption. I personally prefer products that feel fresh and leave no residue, so this aspect was a bit disappointing for me. Also, be careful with the packaging - it's easy to squeeze out too much if you're not paying attention, which can make controlling the amount tricky.

  Pros

  First off, I love how the sleek and pretty packaging instantly elevates my vanity. Now, with all the mask-wearing lately, my blemish-prone skin had turned into a minefield of breakouts. But using this product as an exfoliating toner has been a game-changer. Rather than just drying out spots, it really calms my skin down and reduces the urge to pick. There's no itching or irritation, and surprisingly, even areas where I'd picked and bled healed faster than expected! Houttuynia cordata seems to work wonders for blemishes.

  Cons

  Being a pure extract, it definitely has a very natural scent. It's not quite medicinal, more like... an earthy, pungent aroma? While I loved everything else about it, as someone with a sensitive nose, the fragrance was a bit overwhelming for me.

  I even tried using this extract with sheet masks from The Hwahae Testers for a DIY face mask - it was amazing! When I run out, I'm 100% repurchasing this product.

  Pros

  Honest review from someone who tried this after winning a Hwahae event! I noticed my blemishes gradually subsiding after using this... I've lived with acne for 10 years, but this improved my skin texture. Thanks to the houttuynia cordata, I could see it working on those tiny bumps, even if they weren't inflamed. If I had to buy this with my own money, I definitely would!

  Cons

  While it absorbs well, you need to pat it in at least twice more after the first application to get that deeply hydrated feeling. Also, the scent wasn't particularly appealing to me, unfortunately.

  You can use it as a mask by soaking a cotton pad, or simply pat it in with your hands - both methods work great!

  ❗️Effective for calming blemishes ❗️Absorbs quickly I once made my own houttuynia cordata toner at home, and this product is exactly the same. Because of that, I appreciate that it seems to be free of unnecessary additives.

  Cons

  ❗️The houttuynia cordata scent can be slightly off-putting at first, but you get used to it ❗️It has a water-like texture and the dispenser opening is wide, so sometimes too much product comes out at once and can drip ❗️The volume is a bit disappointing. I've been using it for about 15 days and it's running out quickly. (I used it once as a mask)

  Review from The Hwahae Testers! It was great to use as a skin pack on days when my skin was feeling a bit sensitive. It seems to absorb well into the skin. After applying, there was no tingling sensation, and I didn't experience any increase in blemishes or other issues. It feels like it really helps to calm my skin.

  Cons

  The fragrance is definitely one that people either love or hate. At first, I was a bit taken aback, thinking 'What kind of scent is this?' But after using it a few times, I got used to it. One downside is that too much product comes out at once, which is a bit disappointing.

  Pros

  I could feel my skin calming down. It seems to be packed with a high concentration of houttuynia cordata extract. Maybe it's just my imagination, but I felt like my blemishes subsided faster too? I have sensitive skin, so many cosmetics don't suit me, but this one works well!

  Cons

  It's already quite runny, and the container opening is just like a hole, so it pours out too quickly! At first, the scent seems like a healthy smell, but as it absorbs - maybe when it starts to dry? - it develops a somewhat unpleasant odor. I suppose that can't be helped.

  I was delighted by the neat packaging upon delivery, and when I opened it, I found it was wrapped once more in bubble wrap! I've been using it since the day it arrived, and I can definitely feel it soothing my blemishes. In fact, I can visually see how much it has calmed my skin, so I plan to keep using it! Oh, and by the way, I applied it on a cotton pad and used it like a daily mask routine!

  Cons

  The scent... I know it can't be helped, but it's not a fragrance I particularly enjoy (personal preference!!!). However, it works so well that I plan to continue using it!
