As someone who really loves vitamin C products, I trust this brand enough to buy it. The texture was actually better than I expected. The price seems reasonable compared to other brands too. The smell... It's unbearable. It smells like vinegar, which is really hard to tolerate. - ya*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedSep 1, 2020
No irritation at all! Usually, whitening products sting my skin, but this one doesn't - which is fantastic. It's so hydrating that I don't even need to apply a moisturizer afterwards. Just one layer is enough to keep my skin from feeling dry. Plus, it absorbs quickly into the skin. It's a bit rich for an oily skin formula. Because of this, it can sometimes lead to excess sebum production and occasional blemishes. That's the most disappointing aspect for me. - hy*********Oily SkinJun 14, 2020
I really liked that the product has a watery consistency and isn't sticky at all. Once it absorbs into the skin, it leaves a powdery finish, which I think would be great for summer use. I didn't particularly notice any vinegar-like scent, but I did detect a woody aroma. Personally, I enjoy that scent, so it works well for me. After applying the product, it feels a bit tight as it sets, which I'm not a fan of. It does eventually leave a powdery finish, but... Also, when left undisturbed, there's some mysterious white residue that settles, which makes me a bit uneasy. It did disappear when I shook the product though. 1 star: Absolutely not recommended for blemish-prone skin 2 stars: Not great 3 stars: It's okay 4 stars: Good, but still searching for something better 5 stars: Love it, would repurchase - wo******Combination SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsSebum/BlackheadsEnlarged PoresMay 7, 2020
☆Ingredients☆ The ingredients are trustworthy, which is a big plus! ☆Texture☆ Despite being a serum, it's lightweight. I usually use (and enjoy) oily and heavy ampoules, but this serum is less sticky and has a lighter formula. I'd recommend it for summer, especially for those with oily & combination skin like mine. ☆Aesthetics☆ It's beautifully iridescent! It looks luxurious and expensive without trying too hard. ☆Vinegar Scent☆ Wow, the smell is really like vinegar - I was shocked! Am I the only one? My sister was surprised too, and so was my whole family... The vinegar odor is so strong that I hesitate to use it. Sigh... I only apply it occasionally when I remember to. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinApr 3, 2020
It absorbs well and has a lightweight texture that doesn't feel sticky, leaving the skin feeling fresh. I thought it was unscented, but it has a smell reminiscent of greasy ramen noodles. Although it's supposed to be good for oily skin, it actually made my existing small blemishes spread even more. I only used it once before giving it away... Seems like oil serums don't agree with my skin. - dk*******Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMar 9, 2020
Ever since discovering squalane oil, I've been trusting Melixir products. And I must say, the ingredients in this one are still impressive! Despite being marketed for sensitive skin, it's quite irritating. This vitamin serum is too harsh for my super sensitive skin. It caused my skin to break out badly! - bj***Combination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinRecommendedFeb 29, 2020
When I first discovered Melixir, my main concern was those pesky little blemishes dotting my forehead. What truly amazed me about this product was how noticeably it reduced more than half of those blemishes overnight after the first use! Of course, after that, they gradually became smaller, and over time, I felt my skin becoming healthier overall. The texture is somewhat like a light, watery essence, but make sure to follow up with a moisturizing cream for that extra hydration! However, you'll feel how this serum alone provides a burst of hydration. As it absorbs, your skin feels firmer, and your next skincare steps glide on beautifully. I highly recommend this healthy vegan cosmetic for those with sensitive or oily skin (it's great for combination skin too)! This is truly my holy grail... If you're struggling with small bumps, you must give this a try. I first discovered this brand in mid-November 2019, and since then, I've been using a bottle of this serum every month - I'm on my third bottle now! The only slight drawbacks might be the somewhat light texture, and since it's a Vitamin C serum for daytime use, you absolutely must apply sunscreen, which can be a bit of a hassle. Other than that, it's pretty much flawless! I've been using this along with the Melixir toner for three months now! I find that using products from the same brand together really maximizes the effects. My current night care routine is Melixir toner, Melixir serum, followed by Innisfree Bija Cica Balm - this combination works wonders! - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedDec 27, 2019
Being a vegan product with simple ingredients, it's a lightweight item I find myself reaching for often. It has a fluid consistency and absorbs well into the skin. I wish they would release a larger size. It would be great if they expanded their serum line with more variety.
