Pros
I've been using this as a substitute for toner. It's a first essence, and I can't really tell the difference between it and toner. I've just been scooping it out with my hands and applying it. It's gentle, has almost no scent, and has a non-sticky, refreshing texture, so it seems like a good option to use comfortably year-round.
Cons
Even though it's an essence, when you look at the texture and feel of it, it's just like a toner. Other first essences also seem like toners - they have large volumes, a watery texture, and not much difference in moisture compared to toners. So the first essence name seems like just a name, and you could basically consider it a toner. However, if you apply it a couple of times, it does feel slightly less drying than a toner.

I purchased this for sensitive skin as a soothing product. It's gentle and has good ingredients.

It calms the skin extremely well!! But it's not quite like that, though the gentle product was fine. The price is too expensive..

Isn't this so refreshing? I really love it because it's a water-type product. We all know that the houttuynia cordata ingredient is a great one for treating trouble, but I often found that other brands didn't suit me well. However, the Chlorella houttuynia is really gentle. It's not at all irritating. I used to have small bumps come up around my chin area because of the mask, but after using this cotton pad and doing a soothing pack, they disappeared right away! I'm so happy with it!!

It's not sticky at all and it's so moisturizing, I'm using it really well It's not irritating either, so I think it's good for all skin types The amount is generous too, so I'll have to diligently apply it until summer😁😁

If you could also include cotton pads with it.. ugh.. 🥲🥲

I've been using it for about 10 days and I'm quite satisfied. :) My skin has been very sensitive lately due to pollen and fine dust, and there was a slight stinging sensation when I first applied it, but it went away quickly. The next day, I hardly felt that sensation anymore! I've tried many other products from Hwahae, and this essence is not only gentle and non-irritating, but also highly effective. It's one of the products I consistently purchase. The fragrance is very subtle, like a natural herbal scent, which is great since most Hwahae products are fragrance-free. The volume is generous, and it's the perfect soothing essence for the current season. The watery texture also makes it refreshing to use, even in the summer. I'd recommend using it as a face mask by soaking a pad in the essence on days when you need extra calming and purifying effects.
