I used to avoid exfoliating with gommage-type peels because they were a bit irritating, but with this product, I can just apply it before bed. It's so gentle and non-irritating, which I really appreciate. It's less irritating than I worried it would be, and I love the subtle fragrance. You can feel your skin plumping up with hydration as soon as you apply it! Nothing particularly bad to mention. ❤️ Slightly acidic product ❤️ Gentle exfoliation of dead skin cells and sebum I tried this peeling essence from the Nuxe brand! My skin tends to be sensitive, so I've been using toner pads instead of exfoliators. However, this essence seems to manage dead skin cells even more gently than toner pads! It's amazing that you can remove dead skin cells and sebum just by applying it, without the need for physical scrubbing like with peeling gels. True to its name as an essence, the texture isn't as watery as a toner, but it's not sticky either. It leaves a fresh finish and has a pleasant scent! I'll have to use it consistently to know for sure, but I can't think of any downsides yet!

The scent, as you might guess from the name, is a lovely rose fragrance that lifts my mood every time I use it. The texture is like a runny gel, so you need to gently pat it in for the best absorption. Since it's an exfoliating essence, be sure to avoid the eye area! For a special treatment, you can soak a cotton pad with the product and gently swipe it across your face. I have super sensitive skin, so I just pat it on my face. I use it two or three times a week, not daily. I didn't need any additional exfoliation - this was enough to keep my skin smooth. I've even used it on my body where I occasionally get blemishes. I just apply it with a cotton pad, and it works great! It's a shame it contains ethanol. If it didn't have this ingredient, I think it would be perfect. Maybe that's why it can feel a bit drying at times. Use this only in your evening routine! When I washed my face in the morning after using it at night, my skin wasn't as dry as usual, but felt nicely hydrated. My face even had a soft, supple feeling! Works as both an essence and a gentle exfoliant. While it doesn't completely remove dead skin cells, it seems to help with that process. Skin feels dry after application. Applying exfoliating essence: - I was a bit concerned about repeatedly wiping with an exfoliating toner, so I loved that I only needed to apply this. It's fascinating how it can provide exfoliation without irritation just by applying it. Refreshing feel: - Being an essence, it's not watery but has a slight viscosity. However, it feels so refreshing that it's comfortable to use even in summer. In fact, it's much more refreshing than my usual essences, with no stickiness at all. Smooth skin texture: - While it doesn't offer dramatic results, when used at night, you can feel your skin texture becoming smoother the next day. It's not about reducing bumps, but rather that feeling of improved skin texture (you know, that soft, velvety feeling that only you can notice when you touch your skin? Haha!). Pilling issue: - I only added this to my usual skincare routine, but it started causing slight pilling with sunscreen and then significant pilling with cushion foundation. There might be combinations that work without pilling, but because of this issue, I've stopped using it in my morning routine.
