Being a bit lazy and sleepy, I've been relying solely on Kill Cover cushion. Now, I'm looking for something that's less likely to emphasize dead skin cells and more hydrating, so I bought a foundation for the first time in 10 years. Application: The texture doesn't slide off. It applies in a very thin layer, so I double-tap on areas with acne scars on my cheeks (though I wonder if it makes much difference). Coverage: I've given up on high coverage this time, so it really doesn't cover much at all. It does conceal redness, but you can still tell 'Oh, they have acne scars' to some extent. Scent: None Shade: I've always used shade 23, but everyone kept telling me I should go a full shade lighter, not just half. So for the first time, I tried shade 24. Well... the lighter shade does look pretty. Maybe because it doesn't look like I'm wearing makeup...? It might be a bit dark though.
ConsUsing foundation for the first time in 10 years, I was really torn between applying it with my hands, a brush, or a puff. It's such a hassle... Even though I'm using a damp sponge, I still notice some dead skin cells flaking around my mouth and cheek area. Ugh... it's really frustrating. It's much better than Clio in terms of the affected area, but I'm still wondering what the issue could be.
TipAfter watching tons of YouTube videos about the Hince foundation, I decided to go with a sponge. I bought the Olive Young Jelly King sponge and the Skinfood Wedge Puff. The Jelly King is used damp, so it feels really moist and gives a nice, skin-hugging application. I haven't tried the Wedge Puff yet, so I can't say much about it.
