As someone with extremely sensitive skin, please note this is a highly personal review. I've wasted a lot of money on cushion foundations in the past. Strangely, some caused severe skin reactions, and I've finally figured out why. The culprit? 'Cyclohexasiloxane'. Interestingly, products with other yellow or even red-flagged ingredients caused no issues, but those that upset my skin all contained cyclohexasiloxane. With so many similar-sounding ingredients, it's really confusing. Star Seller's foundation contains this ingredient, but their concealer doesn't. Moving on to my Star Seller review, regardless of skin reactions: I've been curious about Star Seller for a long time, but its limited availability and infrequent sales made it hard to justify the price. I finally bought it on sale. Foundation performance: Coverage is low (really below expectations), and skin appearance is just okay. It's very ordinary. Layering doesn't make it thick, which has pros and cons. No matter how much you apply, it stays the same. I'd only recommend it for those who prefer light makeup. I've seen many rave reviews and expected high-end department store quality, but it's far from that - just very average performance. Concealer: Now this, I like. It's conveniently attached to the product, has a nice moisture level, and works well for quick touch-ups. Good for covering dark spots too, though you might need to set it with powder. Case: Bigger and thicker than expected, but that means a larger mirror too. Would I use the foundation if it didn't contain that problematic ingredient? No. The foundation's performance is worse than my usual long-wear cushion. I remember repeatedly applying it thinking, 'What is this?' The built-in concealer is convenient and even more appealing, but with the foundation's poor performance and the fact that refills aren't even available yet... I'd rather spend more on a high-end brand foundation. Skin type reference: Combination dehydrated, varies by area, super sensitive skin, prone to excess oil production, frequent closed comedones, occasional itchy or painful blemishes. Often experiences skin reactions, redness and dilated blood vessels due to steroid ointment use, resulting in very fragile skin. Incompatible with: Centella asiatica-based products (high concentration), heavy and suffocating formulas, carrot pads, Dr.G cream, cypress water-based products, Mediheal tea tree ampoule, over-nourishing products, shea butter, orange oil, sage oil, silicones, dimethicone types, pore-clogging ingredients, cyclohexasiloxane, etc. Still identifying more. - sc********Combination SkinAcne SkinBrightening/Dark SpotsEnlarged PoresRecommendedAug 18, 2024
I loved how natural the complexion looked, and both the absorption and coverage were perfect! You can trust Jung Saem Mool products when making a purchase. The price is a bit... disappointing. However, it's so good that I'll probably buy it again! - Hwahae UserDehydrated SkinSensitive SkinSebum/BlackheadsInner DrynessEnlarged PoresDead Skin CellsRecommendedNov 13, 2023
I've been using this for about 8 years now. With my oily skin and darker complexion, I was looking for a foundation with a natural tone, and I've been using this one exclusively all year round. It's unbeatable in terms of longevity, natural skin appearance, adherence, and coverage. There's no darkening either. I can apply it in the morning, and it stays flawless until the early hours - no touch-ups needed! Since I have oily skin, I just blot my nose with oil-absorbing sheets, and I'm good to go. I've tried switching to new foundation releases out of curiosity many times, but I always end up coming back to this magical foundation after failing with others. The downside is that refills are becoming increasingly difficult to find. I'm starting to worry it might be discontinued soon. It can look slightly matte, so when I want a glowy look, I apply this foundation first, then use Missha BB Boomer on my forehead, nose, and chin for that Inner Glow. I finish with a pearlescent blush. It's absolutely perfect. - ju*******Oily SkinAcne SkinJun 6, 2023
It did a good job covering my pores, but I'm not sure about the rest By evening, it becomes noticeable that the product sits on my skin, which is uncomfortable - Hwahae UserCombination SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinMay 27, 2023
The coverage is excellent, so it's great for those with blemishes or areas they want to conceal. However, it does apply quite thickly. It doesn't seem to suit my combination dehydrated and super sensitive skin. I noticed blemishes appearing almost immediately... - ju**********Combination SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedFeb 27, 2023
The coverage is excellent. While the container is a bit heavy, it's sturdy and I love that it comes with a perfectly matched concealer for the foundation. The foundation's texture doesn't seem to align with current trends. - di*****Dry SkinSensitive SkinAcne SkinDec 5, 2022
The wide range of shades gives you more options compared to other cushion foundations. I love how natural it looks on the skin. The scent is... well, it's quite sharp and unpleasant. I'm not a fan of the fragrance at all. - Hwahae UserCombination SkinRecommendedOct 29, 2022
The shade 23 gives a natural look that's as close as possible to my own skin tone. While the foundation alone doesn't provide the best coverage, using it with the built-in concealer enhances the coverage significantly. It has great staying power, doesn't transfer much to masks, and doesn't break down easily. The application isn't particularly outstanding or poor, but it's not quick to set. However, if you blend it well, it adheres nicely to the skin. The scent reminds me of old-fashioned makeup. The color is quite muted. While I appreciated the natural look, those seeking a brighter complexion might find it too subtle, almost as if you're not wearing makeup at all. - rl*********Oily SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedAug 5, 2022
I got a one-on-one makeup consultation with a professional and they recommended this product, so I bought it right away! Until it arrived, I'd tried other foundations but couldn't get that perfect look, making me think I hadn't learned proper application. But when I tried this product after it was delivered, I could see a clear difference! It's truly a 'second skin' item and feels so smooth. I have oily skin, so my makeup does break down a bit later, but I think I'll keep using this for a long time. I'm not entirely sure yet, but I think I might use up the foundation faster than the concealer, given their relative amounts. For flawless skin, start with a solid skincare routine, then mix the concealer and foundation in a 1:2 ratio and apply with a Picasso brush. - Hwahae UserDry SkinSensitive SkinRecommendedMay 23, 2022
The more you layer, the better the coverage gets, and most importantly, it seems to have incredible staying power even when your skin gets oily! As someone with dry skin, this cream-type foundation feels the least drying deep down. It's like an all-in-one beauty tool that's easy to carry around, solving your foundation, concealer, and palette needs with just one compact. This product works best when applied in extremely thin layers with a brush to maximize its effectiveness. However, since I have a lot of peach fuzz, I had to use a sponge, which inevitably led to a slightly thicker application. If you're aiming for a matte finish, powder is absolutely essential.
