My skin is too sensitive for toners, so I use this as my first skincare step, doubling as an essence. I've been using this aloe gel for about 10 years now. Being an aloe gel, it's not sticky like other gels and spreads smoothly. It's great for soothing when my skin feels hot and also helps with pore care and protection.
ConsDue to the triethanolamine and fragrance, it can cause eye irritation, so never apply it around or near the eyes. It stings immediately if you do. I use a cream stick without irritation for my eye area. While it does contain alcohol, I didn't find it particularly drying. I follow up with an emulsion or moisturizer as my second skincare step.
TipFor a cooling and soothing effect, try keeping it in the refrigerator. This is especially nice during summer months. It helps calm redness and soothes irritated facial skin.
