When you hear 'essence', you might think of a thicker consistency. But this one is more like a toner. I usually have a lot of dead skin cells, so I typically use an exfoliating toner. However, since I started using Vegan Effect, I don't even need to exfoliate anymore!

While it might be a bit light for winter use, it's perfect as an essence for the summer months!

My first impression was that it feels more like a toner than a typical essence! It's refreshing and hydrating without any oiliness, just pure moisture.

I've been using it with an exfoliating cotton pad, and I was amazed that it caused absolutely no irritation, even on areas where I've extracted blemishes. Usually, I feel a tingling sensation when using an exfoliating toner after extraction, but true to its claim of 0.00 irritation index, I didn't feel any discomfort at all.

It works great as a toner mask on troubled areas or on the cheeks to boost hydration before makeup application.

When used as part of my night care routine, I wake up to noticeably smoother and softer skin in the morning!

The smell! Oh no! I had to take off one star because of the scent. Please, please improve the fragrance while keeping the same great ingredients... Then I'd likely keep using it. The formula is so good, but the smell is such a letdown. I feel like the scent lingers on my face, which can be quite distressing at times...

My skin is super sensitive and quite opinionated - it usually burns immediately if a product doesn't suit me. But this one doesn't cause any burning sensation and keeps my skin hydrated. There's no irritation, and I sometimes use it as a mask too. I'm currently using it as a cleanser, essence, and cream all in one, and it's unlike any other cosmetic product I've tried before. It's hard to explain, but the texture is different... It's gentle yet moisturizing.
